  1. That requirement would have worried me, but point accepted... another doctor on the bill.
  2. The owner is a Thai gentleman who had a Western parent and was educated mainly in Australia... quite a posh sounding old gentleman. He has directed the hospital to be less mercenary that the main competition!
  3. Yes, the ineptitude and casual way they transport this large sum of money is beyond belief.
  4. And there I was with only a fork!
  5. Any tourist in town this last couple of weeks would have been stretched to avoid one..... Us that live here know better.
  6. Well I don't know that he actually asked her first, but a more general statement might be 'look but don't touch', or 'they aren't all working girls'......
  7. Actually it is a poke back at all the posters crying about masks etc in Thailand!
  8. You would expect using a general would be avoided if not necessary.
  9. I like the fact some rather old fashioned ways persist in Thailand.... other countries are so sanitary.
  10. Well occasionally neighbour's dogs are a nuisance... my own roof is tiled and has an insulating foam applied to the underside several inches thick, car port is tiled.....but on the other side to the main bedroom. Windows double glazed too, Point being, if it is noisy enough to wake me, it is fair chucking it down.
  11. Sorry you don't come across as too smart yourself. The jury being out means the decision is not made as to whether liberalizing the stuff was a good or bad move. The two points were in the same write up.... my 'point' was more a question. Canada cannot even decide on it's language and is mostly wilderness.
  12. I suspect they are hardier than my truck.....as bad as the road is, fortunately no IEDs to contend with!
  13. Certainly entrenched in your obsessed mind.
  14. Very true.... the road to my Mrs village could wreck a Humvee.
  15. Is the jury out yet on that one.....? Emergency department visits and hospitalizations due to cannabis in Canada are also up eight per cent and five per cent respectively, between 2019 and 2020. The legalization of recreational cannabis, which has resulted in major reductions in social harms such as heavily discriminatory police charges for cannabis offences, has had major public health benefits. We see a lot of shops opening up in Pattaya, which all may be premature. I am too old to be impacted, hopefully.
  16. Problem the world over isn't it.... underpaid Government employees. Be it UK NHI workers, schoolteachers, prison officers, police etc etc. Many being tougher jobs than being a school teacher.
  17. Most of the wires you see are communication wires. The act of burying them is ongoing, along with the power cables.... I have high hopes that being underground there will be fewer electrocutions of people wading through flood waters. The connections are made above ground, hopefully high above ground.... those new boxes on the pavements of Walking ST and Klang are examples. Something new for the drunk pick-up driver to plough into.
  18. Misplaced his phone or no internet connection. So many parents and friends are used to getting very frequent contact in recent times, a picture of breakfast or such..... when I was working away and on holiday my family heard nothing of me for weeks on end. (Many years ago).
  19. Yes, lost a great deal compared to USD in the last year..... and compared to THB too. What currency do they bring with them to spend?
  20. Oh yes...... have been woken by the heavy rain many times in the last month.
  21. Yes, many of them are detectable when under a foot or so of water and likely not during the dry season. Stray wire removal may be a start.....
