Ah, but it is not a complete myth, last year one at least was proven not to have been robbed after claiming he had....I will have a chat with my police volunteer pal.. but so far they are just issuing the police reports without much investigation...yes they do come to the police station for them.
The Indian men just like showing off their possible wealth, as I was told by an Indian man doing other cultural things in a Gentleman's Club.
Of course, laws get ignored here, doesn't make it right. Laws are often there as a safety issue, here is an example. But I am focusing on the wrong one, the drunk driver is likely to blame......another law broken, but
Can we still have a go for being dumb enough to go out late at night sporting flamboyant gold chains and seeking ladyboys out? I have warned 3 or 4 of them myself but still see some.
What are you asking about, you appeared to talk mostly about masks? No mandate here but many locals and visitors from Bangkok still wearing. No vaccination check to go anywhere or do anything. Lots of Indian tourists, mostly seen on 2nd Rd for some reason....Bua-khao is quite busy and they have a ruddy music festival nearly every weekend which brings in the crowds. Not pre-pandemic, as no Chinese or Russians, but picking up.
I still am 'unsure' that the West would take on China, if the latter decided to reclaim Taiwan....I would expect the Chinese to be as unpredictable as the Russians, and maybe not tolerant of being kept in a corner. They are odd people but fiercely patriotic. Russia went and simply grabbed a nearby food-basket.... and I also believe would support China.
I was thinking the dope heads would boost a different sector than the boozy, girlie, nightlife..... after all their habit has rendered them incapable of doing it justice. So something where they can lie around and contemplate skies and ceilings....the massage, tattoo and beach-chair vendors might be making a killing.
Oh plenty left over, 200 baht fills the bike still. They could ride to the next station and try again, but I am betting they were sat drinking somewhere soon after this happened.
None specifically to the renter. The owner will have to go to the station to claim his bike back and I expect the police will confirm he has necessary paperwork to rent out bikes. If the bike is damaged, he would usually pursue the renter to claim it's full value as there is likely only liability insurance. If he does not have his passport, then he has little ability to do this... perhaps if he has details he could work with immigration to get him held at the airport when leaving, but this I hear is not easily done.
