  1. Yes, but THailand is not coming from such a low point as say Vietnam or Cambodia might. Accept the point that relative comparisons need to be thought about and are usually presented to exaggerate.
  2. It's an odd world.... to me just some Bimbo too young to know much of life. I feel I have little to learn from her. But hey, at my age I am completely out of touch.
  3. Tourism is often mentioned as the kingpin, but THailand has other facets. Vehicles is a big one too. Tourism is below 20% of GDP.
  4. How about dogs? Far too many here to the point of then being a plague!
  5. Another Tok-Mok who thinks anybody cares what they think!
  6. A surge of 24% is not taking off?
  7. In India, the price will always be attempted to be negotiated up or down, depending which way the money is going! I found just giving the agreed (eventually) amount and walking off the only solution. But that needs a pocket full of disgusting dirty notes.
  8. Swampy is far from the worst place I have been through, more surly grouches are to be found elsewhere a plenty.
  9. Probably having a dammed good time and availing themselves of less public and more extreme entertainment than Monaco has on offer.
  10. I would not hold my breath. The reputation the beach has does not stem from the actions of a sole homeless guy!
  11. She hails from a time when one could perhaps amble down a road. The rest of this old lady's life will never be the same. I can see the idea of a pedestrian bridge but they are not popular. Usually too steep and for me many have steps that are too small. I find them daunting.

One I was in the other day did not permit posting. Things changed about 7 days ago. Just the one Pattaya Community Forum now I guess.
  13. At least 2, second Rd in The Avenue, and Little Walk on Sukhumvit.

Old guy syndrome, I looked through the thread and didn't spot where that was mentioned. At 100 baht each simply a rip off.

Not much to discuss here since Pattaya was amalgamated into Thailand News section.
  16. Yes, similar to my experience. My Mrs told me of a tale back from the village where post was not being delivered.... they visited the postman at home and found him in the company of a great pile of packages and letters, and many empty Lao Khao bottles.
  17. Was it done without having to leave the country?

Well appreciate the feedback......100 baht a stitch could well be too much, how many stitches? I would expect to just pay a few hundred and a nurse to take care of it.

If one walks past the couple of clinics on Buakhao heading towards Tai, the Pattaya City Hospital there will likely take care of things.
  20. I had heard of this but thought it only for Thais.
  21. Those who can afford to move and live here permanently are likely financially sound. Those I know who come to live seem negative of their home countries these days.
  22. They don't allow any financial investors to do talks at the club I attend.
