  1. Here we go, more rubbing together of grubby greedy hands, on the back of loosening tourist regulations for dictator countries, and getting everyone falling down drunk until 4am!
  2. Some of these tourists get really smashed up... and would not know which government hospitals to use. I know a few with very good reputations, but a few others that are not as good.
  3. Under what legal premise can they hold you, and prevent you leaving the country? Not sure that is practical either....
  4. I certainly know the difference, I had tortoises as a kid. The turtle I had here was a freshwater one, it sort of came with the house I rented.. a red eared slider. At one time had 2, was given a male, but it was an aggressive little <deleted>. Still, it did the job and we had eggs that hatched 2 times.
  5. I thought it was only 3rd party. That amount may or may not get a broken leg fixed in a government hospital, but in reality more cover is needed.
  6. Still, if it had to be checked when you arrive by an IO, quite a task!
  7. Yeah, same for me Tuesday. Certainly busy and they are mainly tourists not Expats.
  8. No, not all of them. That is ridiculous. I suspect those opening businesses in town will not. There is no shortage in that respect.
  9. Well, let us say that when you say rent a motorcycle here it comes with insurance, but it won't cover you! Never sure about any policy until one has the misfortune to need to claim.
  10. A nice turtle shell door stop. My Mrs dug up and kept the shell of a turtle I had for many years that died!
  11. I fail to see the attractions of Khao Noi and Khao Talo myself... very heavy traffic and built up these days.
  12. Not so sure about that mate... the industry is rather prevalent in Pattaya City.....I kinda agree that Jomtien is little better; surely 'anywhere else' will yield many Thai towns where it is not a major employer!
  13. We need the details but I was a little bemused by the cover for death..... would this be money for the hospital that failed, or to repatriate mortal remains, or a family cash benefit. The requirement is surely more for the living, those involved in accidents or health issue while in Thailand.
  14. Many of these women have been putting out faked pics of themselves for years, with enhanced parts, and airbrushed features... now they complain!
  15. Yes, Picasso deserves to be punished. Although his pictures you could hardly recognize who the woman was, or recognize it was indeed a woman!
  16. Give with one hand, take with the other. What happened to the 300 baht arrivals tax? Thailand sure likes to saturate the market....... Pattaya will be creaking under the weight of tourists soon.
  17. I know one was where you exit the motorway to head south on Sukhumvit,
  18. I saw a recent report that condo sales in Thailand were doing well of late, particularly in Pattaya, but also in Phuket, and Bangkok. With the welcoming and liberal approach to China, Russia and India that is hardly surprising. If that is the case there could be elbow room for a little more taxation... prices would still be well down from London, Beijing and the location more attractive than Moscow. I would say not so ludicrous, governments will make money grabs where they can.
  19. Not really, you would need your own. There are motorcycle taxis to be found, a few phone number and Bolt required.
