  1. I know a few folks who get home after a few drinks and in the morning need to get onto Lazada to try and cancel the kayak they ordered that night.
  2. They do, they don't..... (require a COR, and reject the pink book)..... perhaps they get a call every now and again from immigration when takings are down!
  3. Yeah, recent chatting to a Visa agent and I was told changes in the air for early next year. I gave a wry smile as in the past, 'changes' rarely meant it got easier. The idea of getting an 'Elite' went through my head this year!
  4. I really do not know what they have...I do know that for each and every Extension, Re-Entry permit, 90 day report (done at the office), certificate of residence etc etc, you have to produce copies of passport and most things under the sun, as if it is the first time they ever saw you. A person who has lived here a few decades is still expected to traipse all over soi 5 office with a thick wad of papers in hand.
  5. Refund the 220 baht ATM surcharge and let them spend that!
  6. I believe Thailand had a system too for people leaving the country who were not tourists.... a long time ago. With the numbers we have nowadays, a formidable effort.
  7. Immigration leaving the country, or domestic immigration, say when doing a Tm30, Extension or Re-Entry permit? You suggest the former, so what happens if none has been submitted, prevented from leaving?
  8. Haha, might have to sneak him back in before they take him out!
  9. Are you suspecting they will look at every single visitor to Thailand and add up their days in country and then insist those exceeding 180 days, all get a tax ID and submit a form? It might be easier to reintroduce the tax paid certificate for those leaving the country that show up as having been in for a longer period. That won't get the Expats who never go out though.
  10. I have been here a good while and managed without too. Got a bit of an aversion to dealing with their 'officialdom'. Reminds me of trying to get a tax ID, I needed a COR, Immigration needed a letter off the RD requesting a COR, RD would not issue a letter without a written request from immigration..it is called being pissed about from pillar to post!
  11. They might get your name and address, and phone number too, from Lazada parcels/labels.
  12. If recovered he should be in a prison, army barracks are not that!
  13. I have actually been on that flight..... Bahrain to Dhaka, Gulf Air, at the front! I was going to some project in the middle of nowhere from Saudi, and not looking forward to it at all... a diversion to Bangkok would have had me dancing in the aisles!
  14. I thought there was at least an obligation to stabilize a patient in an Emergency situation.
  15. Does Indonesia still obligate Visa on arrival for Wester tourists like UK and Oz though?
  16. Bar owners too are saying that although claiming it is 'picking up'......Plenty of traffic on the streets though, and out on major roads around town.
