Disgusting the way the Thai guys "helped' her. She had just been stabbed and they picked her up and walked her to a seat. Anybody with any first aid experience would know that she should be laid down in a comfortable position and compress the wound and treat for shock etc. Nobody was interested in getting a pick up to take her to Hospital. Do any Thai people ever learn First Aid ? They sure like to watch.

Could it be arranged so they all come at once ? I think Songkhran would be a good time. Some of them could do with a good wash !!

If they do actually build the walkway you can bet it would soon be full of food carts, beggars, motor bikes etc. The same old mess as on the road footpaths. The Thai way is if you can walk on it we can set up shop on it.

so the poor farmers are being asked to go out and buy expensive fertilizer to improve the quality of their crop but still get the same price for it and therefore less profit and an even poorer family. More Thai logic

Start off with the drug dealers selling in the prisons. They wont run away or need long term warrants. And then what ? Arrest a few small dealers and all will soon be forgotten.

They say they will build a new covered walkway from BTS so now we can walk almost to Pantip Plaza without going out in the heat or having to dodge the traffic......cant wait. Wont ever go shopping at the new centres. We like to support the small Thai traders who struggle to make a living.

Not possible from Australia ! Checked AA prices today and PER-BKK was only A$100 cheaper than Thai on the new 787 and there were 2 9 hour stop overs. One was overnight. There are loads of flights from KL to BKK but website wouldnt show them. They want you to go on the crappy flights. Have to be very careful and sometimes lucky to get good prices from AA. I think their best value is on Asian flights rather than International. Have got some very cheap flights in the past in Borneo and Sarawak.

Here in Perth we are lucky cos Thai Airways is flying the new 787 PER-BKK and a ticket is only A$748 return from my travel agent, not much more than Air Asia, so we have no complaints. Wont use them for any other flights though !

Head up to the 4th floor....Departures and get taxi there. No problem with knobheads, they all want a return fare into town. Eager to help. Never had a bad one yet as you can choose who you want.

The British have always hated the arrogant French and take delight in thumping them. When I was much younger and living in England it was a common thing for the English Navy guys to arrange fights with the French when they were in port, not just fights but bloodbaths with knives and weapons.

if you have been living in bangkok for at least a year or less, you should know by then that you can get a metered taxi on the 'Departure Area.'

There are lots of taxis in there who sent their passengers to leave thailand or to pick-up friends/relatives and those drivers are very much happy to get another passenger wherever you go on a meter.

Pattaya is another story I guess.

Yeah, we always go up to the 4th floor to get a return taxi into town. NEVER had a problem. Drivers are happy to get the return fare. these 2 trips pay for his car rent for the shift.

Of Course Thonglor are involved in this corrupt scheme. They must all be very rich and worth doing an asset assessment.

We will still got to level 4 to get a taxi. Never had any problems from there. Driver is always happy to get a return fare to city. Makes it a good day for him.

A good airfield is Thoong Sri Gun. Its at the end of an Air Force base and has good facilities and 2 good RC shops. Its not far from the Amari Hotel Don Muang

I agree, Lai Thai is the one we always stay at. Big clean swimming pool, quiet at night, near bars, market and Muay Thai Stadium. Only 800 Baht air con room. Transport waiting outside if reqd. Small room but comfortable beds.

I got a delivery from NSW to Perth by courier for $35. Aus Post wanted $100 ! Why would anybody use them for parcels ?

There is a simple solution if you are worried about ATM fraud......go inside the bank and draw out your money, just like we all did in the old days. Also you can draw out as much as you want.

I wonder if they will pay Australia the millions of dollars that were spent every day ( A person I know involved with the air search told me the bill was at least $2 million per day). Something is being covered up by authorities, which ones we will never know

I have had a close call at Kata beach on a windy day with a rough sea. Looked OK for a swim, I am a good swimmer. Didnt go out far but every time I swam back in a massive under current swept me back out again and the water crashed over my head, It didnt take long to get tired and take a few mouthfuls of water. So I just timed it right and swam flat out front crawl and got back in my depth so I could touch the sand again. Thats when I could feel the strong pull of the backwash. All of Kata and Karon is DEADLY when the water is rough. Please be aware. I read so many times of tourists drowning in this area on a rough day.
