  1. Contrary to most comments here, I sincerely believe that it is in the police best interest to investigate these gang robberies. I am very confident that they will be p[punished. Problem is that there is no possibility to send their parents to jail. They might deserve the punishment as much as these boys.

There is no punishment for the boys. They are under age and Thai law has nothing to do about them. The parents will be told they are bad boys, and that's about it.

  2. it doesn't matter if you have been convicted or not your government should have no authority to cancel your passport, even if you are convicted , if you are convicted they should prevent you from leaving the country, an if you still can run away then they should use Interpol or something , but they should not touch you citizenship at all and i say this not cuz i support Thaksin i say it just cuz is my view and in particular case of K. Thaksin there is a lot of political motivated s... involved :)

A passport is not a right, its a privilage and a passport is a goverments property not an indivduals, so a specific goverment can do what they please with someones passport.

Further getting your passport revokes does not infer you have lost your citizenship, these are two completely different topics.

Maybe here in Thailand is like you say, but in my country , a passport is not a privilege, its a right of every single citizen, and is not property of the government is property of the holder and revoking your passport obviously is a form of hurting or limiting your citizenship, cuz is the same that if you are a citizen and the government deprive you from your ID

You might want to check the last page of your passport. I'll wager it can be revoked if say you are convicted of a felony in a country other than your own. Your government has a reputation to keep up.

  3. No, what caused the accident was a poorly fastened seating...

Seconded. Did they really blame the husband?

The re-assignment of blame and in-ability to take any responsibility here whatsoever knows no bounds.

    Amazing Thailand yet again.

    RIP and condolences.

The report doesn't apportion blame; it just states what happened. You lot are too paranoid.

No non Thai can be too paranoid here.

  4. Jatuporn Defends Himself Against Disqualification as MP

Pheu Thai Party MP Jatuporn Prompan insisted that he has a justifiable reason for his failure to cast his vote for the July 3rd election.

He sniped at the Election Commission's decision, saying it does not surprise him.

Pheu Thai Party list MP Jatuporn Phromphan said he is not surprised by the Election Commission's decision to strip him of his MP status, as he anticipated this result.

Jatuporn said he is well aware of being a prime target of political rivals and he believes the Constitution Court will rule similarly to the Election Commission.

He insisted that he was not granted bail and therefore was unable to go to the polling station at the Wangthonglang District Office on July 3.

The Pheu Thai MP is hoping his case will set a precedent for politicians who may have different views from those in power, as they could easily fall victim to political bullying.

He believes the disqualification case against him is just an initial step that will lead to further scheming.

When asked whether he is worried about possible legal cases that could be filed against him, as he will no longer have immunity after his MP status is revoked, Jatuporn said that should not be a problem and he will just take things as they come, as life has never been easy for him.

"he will just take things as they come, as life has never been easy for him." What about the poor people that believe his BS. Corrupt , flip flopping SOB.

  5. Can't jump (excuse the pun) to conclusions. The full story must be heard before judgements can be made.

Although I will be very surprised if she actually did jump by choice. I doubt it, unless she was out of her brain on drugs or something ..... but I wonder if he was/is "in shock" because she's survived !??

Do What????????????????????? How long have you been here. A thai girl that think she is losing her meal ticket will do ANYTHING. Attempted suicide is just one of the thing that can happen. It took me 15 years to learn, and now 10 years later I would trust anything that come out of a Thai BG head.

  6. I have ASN a through GMMGrammy. I got it through a company called Dynasat. Talk to Saranya.

    Saranya

    DYNASAT

    DYNASAT Building

    158 , Soi Wongsawang 21,

    Wongsawang Rd. , Bangsue,

    Bangkok , 10800 Thailand

    Tel : (66) 2 910 8935 -9, (66) 2 910 7682-6

    Fax : (66) 2 587 2443

    www.dynasat.com

Tell her you need to get ASN. She will set it up for you or give you the number you need to get it set up. If you live in a condo you will need a letter from the owner to allow the dish to be installed. The only channel I get in English is ASN. 5000 baht got me installed. No payment until the first of the year. I am watching now. With stereo I get a small problem with language. Until I learned there are 2 settings for English. One has both English and Thai. Push the language button one more time and you get English only. Push the language button one more time and you get Thai only. I am very pleased but I don't know what they will charge me come the new year.

I hope this will help somebody. And don't complain to me that you on a waiting list. Do your research next time you want something instead of complaining. This site just has whiners and moaners posting.

  7. Sounds too good to be true, a company wanting to invest on overseas sporting rights (non BPL I would assume) and offer a HD service.......

But I agree, it all sounds pie in the sky.

Its not just having content and infrastructure to start, its also having back office in place, its having logistical systems to fulfil orders, a network of partners to install, a customer service and sales function.......

Some of my own business partners supply infrastructure to Grammy and i can tell you there is no back office in place whatsoever at this point. Can they do it in a month? not a chance....

You go eat your pie sky pilot. I'm gonna watch Monday Night Football right now. It's the Giants and the Saints. I got mine in October. 1-Sky broadcasts. They have companies all over Thailand that do the installation. Maybe you listened to the wrong people and missed the boat.

  8. It seems theNation may have misunderstood. The other newspaper mentions a complaint to be raised with the ICC. Now that makes more sense.

Interestingly it also mentions that Pheu Thai party list MP Charuphan said since the cabinet had ratified the ICC Rome Convention of 2000 in 2009, Thailand is a full member of the ICC and can file a complaint. Now that's new to me, at least as of October 2011 that wasn't the case.

The AHRC even wrote a letter to PM Yingluck:

"In a letter dated 3 October 2011 to Thai Prime Minister H.E. Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, the Coalition—a global network of more than 2,500 civil society organizations in 150 countries advocating for a fair, effective and independent ICC—urged the government of Thailand to move forward with the accession process of the Rome Statute."

This child needs a good spanking.

  9. The PM is the one in charge. Everything leads back to her. She is responsible for selecting her cabinet and enacting decisions. End of story. For HER failure during this flood debacle, she should at least express her apologies by shaving her head. But to really accept the consequences of her actions, she and her ministers should follow the time honored examples of the past and do the "honorable thing".

What's that? Cry on TV some more. I hate Hillary, but at least she does not cry on camera. And her troubles might outweigh Yinglucks. All roads to the flood problem flow back to Yingluck. She selected the incompetence that caused the problem. I know you mean resign, but that would be a loss of face. Never Happen.

  10. I'm dialing 1323 immediately this is outragous!

Yes please and whilst you are on the phone report the fact of residents being told if you intend to sell your property Wait for 6 months and you can simply state " oh No we were not flooded that was Somjais house down the road.

It doesn't matter what country you are in Real Estate Agents are scoundrels:

Quote [Meanwhile, Real Estate Broker Association president Somsak Muneepeerakul yesterday warned homeowners not to rush to sell flood-affected properties as they may get prices that are 10-20 per cent down from what they seek. He said people should wait for another six months after the flood goes down].

Even though the field is strong this year Real Estate Broker Association president Somsak Muneepeerakul is considered to be a strong contender for Scoundrel of the Year.

That would be a great thread. "Scoundrel of the Year". Someone out there that can start a thread please do it. I would but my membership does not allow me to start a new thread.
