ok...im not thai...but i can tell you that for eye candy, a man with a good bod is nice. but normally thats not for keeps. its just for looking.

go trekking into the mountains. again, john can help with this. there are some beautiful karen villages in the area that do see tourists, but are not overly visited.

what makes anyone better than the next person just because they come from a particular country? i saw a lot of drunks down bangla during my time in phuket (and was one of them a couple of times) but not all of them were bogan australians. there were bogan brits, bogan swiss, bogan americans, bogan belgians, bogan everything.

then again, who am i to judge who is a bogan or not? most people behave completely different when on holiday and many of these people may very well go home to responsible jobs. they just want to let their hair down.

i now live in bali, and you think phuket is bad? man. being so close to australia, its a cheap holiday for many people who wouldnt normally have the opportunity to travel overseas.

why not get on to bangkok network of women (BNOW) and see what you can come up with? im sure that there are therapists listed.

i think you are already on the right track with regards to housing. but the closer it gets to high season, the harder it will be to find a house at a reasonable rate. i suggest you get here first, then look around.

personally, i find the 'sheep' attitude that many thais choose to take a bit off putting. this yellow t shirt on mondays thing is, to me, just like a form of brain washing. i dont like it myself.

to the OP, i would not stress what colour t shirts to bring with you. bring ones that you like, that you feel comfortable in, and that will wash well. the colour is not important. wearing specific t shirts on specific days wont make you any more accepted by locals.

do it for yourself, not anyone else.
