  1. ah so that's the real reason you don't like agents, you're jealous! ????
  2. strewth mate, so you'd rather sit in boring old Straya the nanny state when you could be living it up in LOS because of a few forms to fill in? I'd walk over broken glass to get out of there if I had to. ps. I came over in December when TP was in its infancy. it really wasn't that hard at all. pps. I love Straya but it's nowhere near as much fun as over here.
  3. bro, if the law here can be applied selectively based on one's status and/or ability to pay then all those notions of legal/illegal don't apply. it's just one big grey area and you play the game at your own risk. that's the game. don't be a playa hater.
  4. nope, that's the game. and there's no if about it, I'm from Oz and there's definitely that sort of stuff going on. our fruit wouldn't get picked otherwise. so basically what you're saying is that it's OK for Thais to take advantage of the endemic corruption here but not us dirty foreigners? ????
  5. his wife is correct, he shouldn't have embarrassed her like that.
  6. I'm confused, I thought you were Thai? pretending it's not happening is how things work here and if the law was so sacrosanct then half the country would be in jail. this is pretty much the main reason I came to retire here, I can't really see the attraction if this place becomes all squeaky clean like you want it to be.
  7. a Google search for "aseannow.com massage phetchabun" (sans quotation marks) yielded the following results. is that what you were looking for? https://aseannow.com/topic/1211273-massage-phetchabun/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1237451-massage-in-phetchabun/
  8. oh I just realized this thread was from last year! ????
  9. retracted. just realized this was from last year.
  10. good. anything that annoys alcoholic ferrang is fine by me ???? inb4: no I'm not a wowser. yes I drink a lot myself.
  11. they really went hard on the commission/exchange fee here didn't they? iirc it was only 20 baht plus 2 baht duty then they bumped it up to something silly like 200 baht which pretty much killed TCs.
  12. you drive a big bike in Pattaya? ser, you are crazy! ps. next time I'm in Patts will you take me on a joyride through the tunnel on Sukhumvit? ????
  13. hmm...if the Thais love it then why should the restaurant trim it down as presumably Thais are the bulk of their clientele? best to adapt to the local way of doing things than constantly kicking against the pricks as the saying goes.
  14. there's no such thing as a "normal order" at these joints. there's big trays of fresh(?) meat and you take your plate to the tray and fill it up then cook it yourself at your table. if you pile 10 kg on your plate then don't eat it all the restaurant can impose a penalty (as stated clearly on the menu or around the restaurant). "how can they do this?" ... TIT
  15. gotcha. well as others have mentioned they allow "all you can eat" but if you load up your plate with a shedload of raw meat and then don't eat it for whatever reason the restaurant will impose a penalty for the uneaten food. they're rather fun, you should try it some time. depends where you are but here in Bangkok you can get all quality ranges from gristle that you wouldn't feed to a dog through to Wagyu beef ????
  16. how can you live in Thailand and have never gone to a shabu joint? it's pretty much compulsory ????
  17. it's really quite simple so not sure why you're struggling with it. have you never been to a local shabu joint?
  18. but this ain't the USA bro, it's Thailand. they do things their way, always have always will.
  19. when you snap you snap and the animal brain takes over so choice goes out the window. that's assuming it wasn't all just a great big stunt to sell tickets to whatever movie he was getting the award for. I'm not convinced either way.
  20. Satoshi's vision is a direct threat to the establishment because it has the potential to give the people control over their money instead of the fat cats (rats?). Munger is a fat old cat so I very much suspect that's the reason he refers to Bitcoin as 'rat poison'.
  21. ser, please DM the agent's details if you have the time. I was quoted 20k for extension in Bangkok, oops Krung Thep Maha Nakhon ????
  22. that's precisely the reason I chose to retire in Thailand. I try and break as many laws as I can just to annoy the moralists on here ????
  23. he was a very silly boy indeed but laughing at him and using that horrible Thai expression is just meanspirited. you should be ashamed of yourself.
