  1. Did that in April 2023 from Bangkok Noi to Wang Po. Hot as hell and took most of the day from door-to-door but it was a heap of fun and I look forward to doing it again soon, although maybe not in the hottest part of the year.
  2. Well I only know because there have been quite a few threads on the subject in the last few months. BritTim, Tod Daniels and our newest mod, DrJack54, have previously provided detailed info about the process. Google "aseannow.com transfer visa to new passport" for more details if you're interested.
  3. If the visa is still valid then yes, you do have to carry both passports. If the visa has been used then Immigration put a stamp in the new passport and hand-write in the details of the original visa.
  4. Visas are not transferable and remain in the old passport.
  5. July 2014 apparently, just before I got back for a five week holiday in Nov/Dec. There was a nasty incident on board one of the trains and the knee-jerk reaction was to ban booze and for whatever reason it's never been rescinded 😥 https://aseannow.com/topic/741167-alcohol-sale-and-drink-will-be-banned-on-all-trains-in-thailand/
  6. I'm still humming Feliz Navidad from breakfast at the local café earlier today 😅
  7. More interesting than the topics you start.
  8. I don't know why they call this lady's food "street food" because it is an actual restaurant according to Wikipedia. She's the daughter of Chinese immigrants and "opened her restaurant in the 1980s and originally served congee and noodle dishes such as kuaitiao khua kai and rat na, building on her mother's recipes. She then gradually expanded her repertoire" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Fai
  9. Is this the one you were thinking of (third post from Bruno123)? https://aseannow.com/topic/1244172-dental-implant-in-bangkok/
  10. Yes of course, that's why I'm asking the OP 😁
  11. Out of curiosity, did you use the Cambodian e-visa system or did you just rock up at the airport? If the former, would you mind sharing what they stamp into your passport on entry? Pretty please 😀 I haven't been to Cambodia for a while so haven't had the opportunity to see for myself, but I read on another thread that they still put a sticker in your passport even if using the e-visa system.
  12. They told me that they only do 90-day reporting for customers who use their visa renewal services. Yerr I know, you can't renew a visa 😉
  13. Do you use them for other services or just 90 day reporting?
  14. Some people have no principles... https://youtube.com/watch?v=j1oByXmohhU
  15. That's cheap. I'm with BBL and they charge me 30 baths per month! 😱
  16. Grab has GrabPay Wallet that seems to have a top-up via banking app option. It's only for Thais so I can only see the first step.
  17. I have some Aussie bank apps that do the same thing, I think it's a security thing.
  18. All jokes aside, his use of the term "quota" was interesting and I was hoping he would provide more details. I only know of one agent who uses this term because I have them as a LINE contact and get regular messages about their capacity for certain visa types. They're Bangkok-based and send the passports up-country. I'm wondering if he is referring to the same agent, or if it's a more widespread thing. The agent "my friend" uses in Pattaya doesn't seem to have such capacity issues, it's a free-for-all over that way as far as I can tell.
  19. So the OP was right all along! 😅
  20. Nope, not everybody knows that so please enlighten us as to why you think it's a scam.
  21. TrueMoney. Top-up from bank account as needed, although you only get 20 free top-ups per month and then it's 5 baht per.
  22. Thanks, I didn't want to be "that guy" 😅
