  1. Both Supperiches, and Vasu, are quoting AUD buy rate at ฿23.40. That's at their Bangkok HQs on Ratchadamri and Sukhumwit. They're considered to be the best rates in Thailand and from what I've read over the years they can handle big amounts and may even give better than the headline rate if you know how to negotiate.
  2. OP, are you absolutely sure that cash is not an option? Snatch and grabs are virtually unheard of so what is your main concern?
  3. 2nd world is the Communist bloc. Thailand is far from that, despite its close ties with PRC.
  4. I live in Bangkok and am on the lookout for a Bangkok based agent who can facilitate a non-O retirement extension at Bangkok Immigration office a.k.a. Chaeng Wattana a.k.a. CW. For the Full Monty, not just hand holding. The conventional wisdom is that agents cannot get this done at CW and therefore have to send yor passport upcountry. Or you head to Pattaya to get it done on the cheap. So I was hoping you could PM me your agents phone number so I can chat with them about their services.
  5. Are you absolutely sure that your extension was issued at Chaeng Wattana and not upcountry? If so would you be able to send me their details via private message?
  6. if you have to toot your own horn then you don't really amount to much. anyhow, carry on telling us how good you are, there's not much else going on in here today.
  7. That's how I feel about where you live 🤣🤣🤣
  8. I don't think there's anything Argentinian about El Gaucho except the name. Their steaks are from Australia and USA. https://th.elgaucho.asia/contact/about-us
  9. Roong Reuang Coach run big buses from Mochit to North Pattaya bus station. Dunno how you get from DMK to Mochit, taxi mafia I guess. Or maybe you can order a Bolt or Grab car... https://pattayabus.com/
  10. No worries mate. Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours 🥳
  11. Not your business. Advise him of the pros and cons, sans faux moralising, and let him make his own decision.
  12. YMMV as the Yanks say. A good buddy of mine had to leave the country to kill his first agent-assisted retirement extension get a new non-O in a neighboring country. AND a 15-minute lecture from the dragon lady at SP Immi 🤣
  13. yes I think you've already made it clear that you are a massive wuss 😹
  14. Did that in April 2023 from Bangkok Noi to Wang Po. Hot as hell and took most of the day from door-to-door but it was a heap of fun and I look forward to doing it again soon, although maybe not in the hottest part of the year.
  15. Well I only know because there have been quite a few threads on the subject in the last few months. BritTim, Tod Daniels and our newest mod, DrJack54, have previously provided detailed info about the process. Google "aseannow.com transfer visa to new passport" for more details if you're interested.
  16. If the visa is still valid then yes, you do have to carry both passports. If the visa has been used then Immigration put a stamp in the new passport and hand-write in the details of the original visa.
