  1. July 2014 apparently, just before I got back for a five week holiday in Nov/Dec. There was a nasty incident on board one of the trains and the knee-jerk reaction was to ban booze and for whatever reason it's never been rescinded ๐Ÿ˜ฅ https://aseannow.com/topic/741167-alcohol-sale-and-drink-will-be-banned-on-all-trains-in-thailand/
  2. I'm still humming Feliz Navidad from breakfast at the local cafรฉ earlier today ๐Ÿ˜…
  3. I don't know why they call this lady's food "street food" because it is an actual restaurant according to Wikipedia. She's the daughter of Chinese immigrants and "opened her restaurant in the 1980s and originally served congee and noodle dishes such as kuaitiao khua kai and rat na, building on her mother's recipes. She then gradually expanded her repertoire" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Fai
  4. Is this the one you were thinking of (third post from Bruno123)? https://aseannow.com/topic/1244172-dental-implant-in-bangkok/
  5. Out of curiosity, did you use the Cambodian e-visa system or did you just rock up at the airport? If the former, would you mind sharing what they stamp into your passport on entry? Pretty please ๐Ÿ˜€ I haven't been to Cambodia for a while so haven't had the opportunity to see for myself, but I read on another thread that they still put a sticker in your passport even if using the e-visa system.
  6. They told me that they only do 90-day reporting for customers who use their visa renewal services. Yerr I know, you can't renew a visa ๐Ÿ˜‰
  7. Do you use them for other services or just 90 day reporting?
  8. Some people have no principles... https://youtube.com/watch?v=j1oByXmohhU
  9. That's cheap. I'm with BBL and they charge me 30 baths per month! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
  10. Grab has GrabPay Wallet that seems to have a top-up via banking app option. It's only for Thais so I can only see the first step.
  11. I have some Aussie bank apps that do the same thing, I think it's a security thing.
  12. All jokes aside, his use of the term "quota" was interesting and I was hoping he would provide more details. I only know of one agent who uses this term because I have them as a LINE contact and get regular messages about their capacity for certain visa types. They're Bangkok-based and send the passports up-country. I'm wondering if he is referring to the same agent, or if it's a more widespread thing. The agent "my friend" uses in Pattaya doesn't seem to have such capacity issues, it's a free-for-all over that way as far as I can tell.
  13. Nope, not everybody knows that so please enlighten us as to why you think it's a scam.
  14. TrueMoney. Top-up from bank account as needed, although you only get 20 free top-ups per month and then it's 5 baht per.
  15. The article mentions stuff like fire escapes so I'm guessing it was a "preflight check". No need for the venue to be operating for that kind of stuff.
  16. I figured that might be the case but I didn't want to have to type, or should I say swipe, out a long-winded reply about the OP clearly starting that Kh. Jacques already has the money in the bank. Oh darn, I just did, thanks Olmate ๐Ÿ˜
  17. The TasteAtlas website has the following disclaimer at the bottom of the page which basically says don't take the results too seriously ๐Ÿ˜… "TasteAtlas food rankings are based on the ratings of the TasteAtlas audience, with a series of mechanisms that recognize real users and that ignore bot, nationalist or local patriotic ratings, and give additional value to the ratings of users that the system recognizes as knowledgeable. For the โ€œTop 100 Dishes in the Worldโ€ list until December 01, 2023, 382,723 ratings were recorded, of which 265,170 were recognized by the system as legitimate. TasteAtlas Rankings should not be seen as the final global conclusion about food. Their purpose is to promote excellent local foods, instill pride in traditional dishes, and arouse curiosity about dishes you havenโ€™t tried." https://www.tasteatlas.com/best-rated-dishes-in-the-world
