  1. Lucky you. I use an agent to facilitate my "retirement visa" and so far I've only had to visit the Immigration Office one time, to get my photo taken. The ladies in Room 9 I think it was could not have been ruder. They didn't smile, didn't say a word and completely ignored me when I made small talk (hello, how are you etc). It was a thoroughly dispiriting experience and I hope their future days are filled with angry foreigners in shorts and flipflops with bad B.O. and gnarled toenails 😂
  2. Well there you go, problem solved (if you can read English).
  3. The place would be a nightmare without Chinese Malaysians. One thing I learnt from travelling up the peninsular East Coast is never visit a town in Malaysia that doesn't have a Chinese restaurant. I stayed in such a place many moons ago for one night and was in bed by 9pm. Woke at 5am, got the first bus out of there and never looked back! 😹
  4. To wear your Santy Claus hat and listen to the Christmas music Ralf! Don't you want to hear those sleigh bells jingling and ring ting tingling for the ten thousandth time?
  5. Thanks, haven't been on a trip for a while. However I still maintain my stance that the standard flyer hasn't a clue that they need to retain their boarding pass after getting on the aircraft, it's not something that's in the "collective consciousness".
  6. Thanks for proving my point, namely that you weren't aware of the requirement until you got to the Immigration counter, by which time the boarding pass could be anywhere. The time to inform passengers that they need to present passport AND boarding pass is firstly on the plane before landing and then maybe a visual reminder on a big screen/screens whilst the passengers are waiting in the line. SYD does the big screen thing when you go into the "Customs" area. Thailand airports could do the same if they pulled their finger out, then maybe their staff wouldnt get annoyed by all the n00b passengers who left the boarding pass on the plane or stuffed it where the sun don't shine.
  7. Why should he have to do that if he can possibly avoid it? Not a big deal? CoR isn't easy to come by for a lot of people.
  8. It's not widely publicised so the average traveller can be forgiven. Just like how they don't publish all the actual requirements for obtaining visas and extensions. I don't recall ever being told by "officialdom" that I needed to retain my boarding pass to present to Immigration, I picked that up along the way after a fair amount of flying.
  9. Not that simple and you know it. This was discussed at length just recently but I CBF searching for the thread, OP can give that a go himself.
  10. Didn't say it was. Pester someone else with your "eat the rich" rant.
  11. You are a troll so put yourself on ignore.
  12. Oh thank goodness, I was starting to worry. I went to Kelantan once, spent a night in Kota Bahru. Found a place overlooking the river but of course no beer. Wandered desperately around the streets until I saw a Chinese restaurant with pork on the menu, lazy Susans, and cold beer. Order was restored 🙏 Bugged out for Thailand the next day and never looked back.
  13. You've obviously never been to Malaysia. Take a trip to "Darryl Islam*" one day and see for yourself. * If you don't know what that means then you really do need to get out more.
  14. Nothing "gay" about it, just standard alpha male stuff. You sound like a beta male (or lower), not that there's anything wrong with that.
  15. Immigration does when you're being vetted for a PE visa.
  16. I see that @Ralf001 has already educated you. Or perhaps you already knew but are just pretending, for the lulz or whatever. There's rivers of money out there in Thailand that most of us in here will never get close to.
  17. What the F are you talking about? I guess you don't spend much time down the pub if you haven't heard that one, or a variation thereof.
  18. You have to go to Immigration every 90 days to extend your visa. If you don't you'll be on overstay 😹
  19. You live in Negeri Kelantan in Malaysia? You poor dear, however did you find yourself in that backwater? Move to Thailand ASAP buddy, much more fun up here.
  20. I was dragged there many moons ago for the opening of one of the first bars, or so I was told. It was called something else based on its shape but I forget the name because it was a pretty forgettable bar. Soi Dogleg maybe?
  21. Yerr I know. 3rd road, not 2nd. It was back in the good old days before the place got too built up. Used to see ads for it on Sophon Cable Teewee but never went there, those Thai discos don't float my boat.
  22. London to a brick on says it was a Thai seafood place. If you're happy with that then, as I've said before, knock yourself out so since you seem to be still CS by Thailand. I'm from Sydney so the way Thais do seafood don't impress me much. Now if it is a Greek, Lebanese or Balkan-run restaurant and the chef is an import I'd go down there again and try it.
  23. He lives in PKK, there aren't many (any?) good restos. If there are then they're well hidden because I didn't see any in my last visit there.
  24. Off-topic, irrelevant. Go and pester @bignoob if you want a bickering contest.
  25. You're just as irrelevant as the time waster I was responding to. Go and troll another thread, preferably one started by @bigstooge or @nob smith.
