  1. This is a good read. The M-16 is a corrupted version of the original AR-15 which was specifically designed for the smaller .223 round. They wanted a weapons system that would inflict more damage to enemy personnel than the existing M-14 which used a higher caliber round. "Wound ballistics" it's called, as described in the article you linked to. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1981/06/m-16-a-bureaucratic-horror-story/545153/
  2. Thank Buddha that Thailand isn't going down the European route. They're right to be 'scared' of foreigners and they should do everything they can to not become a basket case like the rest of the Western world.
  3. You can't cut them down to size with Stanley knife or similar? I've don't that before. Or do you mean that the gold-coloured section is oversized?
  4. you don't have to leave the country if you really don't want to ????
  5. So why did they pay this girl, were they drink when they processed her claim?
  6. thanks but I don't think the residency is an issue with the agent I use, that's all part of the package. B12.5k is cheaper than Bangkok and it gives me an excuse to visit Pattaya for a few days. also, afaik, Bangkok agents don't get the extension done at CW so I see no advantage to using them.
  7. I'll be in the bar whilst waiting to board my flight and will have forgotten all about the refundable ticket ????
  8. I've lived in Bangkok for the past year but my non-O visa/extension was obtained via agent on Soi Post in Pattaya. I'm up for renewal on 30 March, planning on using the Pattaya agent again. If I do that, and subsequently go to CW and ask for a residence certificate, do you think they will issue one or get upset about where I got my extension from? TM30 was done by condo office and I did my first-ever 90 day report via Bangkok-based agent. Subsequent TM47s have been done online. Aussie, so Embassy no use for RC.
  9. I have one of those, they are the business ????
  10. supposedly prices have gone up because of recent issues but I've yet to have this confirmed by my agent as I guess she's super busy atmo
  11. Dude, you can put anything you want on a pizza, there's no law against it. And does anyone really care what they do in Italy anymore? They seem to be stuck in the past so just let 'em get on with their silly traditions and live your own life. For example, if I want a cappuccino with chocolate on top at 6PM, ain't nobody's bidness but my own.
  12. His examples are spot on.
  13. Thailand is corrupt from top to bottom, we're just trying to fit in by using agents. You want to stop it, go have a chat with the big guy instead of whining about it on here and see hot far you get.
  14. There's some good stuff on there, don't knock it 'til you've tried it. Oh, and it's TikTok...
  15. you're about due for a visit aintcha? ok so it was better in the old days but there's still value in the place.
  16. you sound as boring as the OP. and you're probably a moralist to boot. oh that's right, agents are bad mmmkay? ????
  17. OP is the very definition of boring. I pray to the old gods and the new that I never meet him in person should he backslide and actually drink in a Pattaya bar.
  18. Ubonjoe answered this question in a previous post on the same subject. His advice was that no, staying in a hotel should not override your registered address and that the IO was at fault. The usual caveats apply re variations between different immigration offices.
