  1. Cool, just making sure. Some dudes don't know or forget about re-entry permits and have to start all over again upon their return.
  2. There ain't no such beast. I think you're referring to a Multiple Re-Entry Permit which is applied for separately to the non-O extension. Perhaps you got one at the same time as the extension for convenience's sake. If you leave the country without either a single or a multiple Re-Entry Permit then your visa/extension is null and void.
  3. AFAIK that option is only available for Bangkok Bank customers and Wise cannot guarantee that the funds will be marked as "FTT" meaning international transfer. There are quite a few threads on here about the Wise software failing in this regard. So something to be mindful of. Wise's local banking partner is Kasikornbank and apparently there are no such issues if you have a K-Bank account.
  4. TM47 is the form for 90 day reporting, not TM30.
  5. That's a new one! ???? BTW the kids these days are calling it "the Koh San road" where San is pronounced like Sand without the D.
  6. Is that correct? AFAIK you have to pay your own way home and if he's short on cash...
  7. It's the perfect antidote to your constant negativity. It was either that or "seek professional help".
  8. It's the buy rate that's the problem, not the sell rate.
  9. So it's not in Bell Gardens then?
  10. So move somewhere else. Simples.
  11. This fine, but would you mind sending us a link to this St Margaret's place as all I can find is the one in SJC which is miles away from Bell Gardens.
  12. There's a lot of dudes who claim that you can open a bank account on a tourist visa but when pressed it's revealed that they did so many years ago when things were a bit more laissez-faire. They're also very reluctant to name the bank and the branch. I'm not sure why that is, maybe they want to be the "only farang in the village" or maybe it's because they had to walk around in the hot sun for three days going from branch to branch and they want everybody else to suffer like them ???? Perhaps it can be done in little country towns like Pattaya but I'm not so sure about here in the big smoke.
  13. The almighty Google says that St Margaret's Episcopal School is in San Juan Capistrano, wherever that is. The only ref that I could find where the two are mentioned together is this sports result. Dunno what game it is, lacrosse maybe? ???? https://scorebooklive.com/california/basketball/games/1387256-bell-gardens-vs-st-margarets
  14. This TPN article explains roughly where the legal entertainment zone is in Pattaya. An actual map would have been great but this is the best I can come up with without visiting City Hall myself... https://thepattayanews.com/2022/09/24/pattaya-city-council-urges-mayor-to-broaden-legal-operating-zone-for-nightlife-venues/
  15. I think the universe is trying to tell you something...
  16. The good thing about the lack of interest in learning English is that you don't get random dudes pestering you to practice their limited English when you're out and about. They do that in Indonesia a lot and it gets tiresome after a while. Especially when it's dudes and they get upset when you ask them if they have a cute sister ????
  17. Why on earth would you go to all that effort just for 40,000 baht per month or whatever pittance they pay these days?
  18. This is the thread. Ubonjoe says it's a "Pattaya only requirement"... https://aseannow.com/topic/1276687-how-do-i-get-retirement-visa-800k-already-in-thai-bank/#comment-17702792
  19. He specifically said he does NOT want a Thai insurance company. The conventional wisdom on this forum is that Thai companies are shonky and that its best to go with international ones.
  20. What that the one where Jomtien office wanted the funds seasoned for two months? It was the son doing it on behalf of his dear old mum, and Wise transfers were involved.
  21. Say what?! I'm not into barfing anymore, just wanted to have a look for old times' sake. I suppose the beer prices are out of control too.
  22. I walked past old mate one night when he was visiting town. Forget the date but it was sometime in mid-2001. Me and a friend were strolling down WS on our way to Vixens in Soi Diamond. He was doing a media interview in the middle of the road. We knew it was someone important before we spotted him because there were all these pot-bellied cops with big hats and lots of medals on their chests standing around. My first thought as we walked past was, geez he's short. Second thought was, dang, the girls ain't gonna get nekkid tonight! ????
