So they come fall in love with the place or a girl and keep spending......great!
But after trip number three they then face the Spanish Inquisition at the airport and possible rejection and detention............. for wanting to keep visiting and spending money.
Thailands attitudes and policies need a post covid review!

Absolutely .....
If they are not so old and have a minor fever they will be given paracetamol by the village doc and told to rest and probably be ok eventually.
But no covid test...... this would be expensive and a trip to a major hospital and the village would be thrown into chaos if positive.
If older and with breathing health problems this is quite a regular event in the villages and the eventual recovery or demise is routine.
Again no covid test and any deaths the cause will be down to lung failure old age complications as per normal.
The real figures in Thailand require testing hundreds daily at all the major cities throughout the kingdom.
Yesterdays figure of 3 positive from a 70 million population doesnt indicate the all clear but simply shows so few tests been carried out.

a lot of forum farang are going to have to eat their cynical comments with regards to Thailand handling this crisis.
its pretty clear by now that western countries like America are falling apart. Unfit political leaders, unruly citizens, medical care that cant cope, blame game, complete chaos. Thailand: united responsible citizens and practical leaders. Results: just look around.
Congratulations, Thailand.
Clearly alcohol is freely available again.!

Does anyone have a reason why Phuket has had such a (relatively) big problem with the virus, at least compared with Pattaya? Is it the Muslim influence from the southern provinces, residents returning home carrying the infection after visiting Malaysia for religious purposes? Or is there something I'm missing?
Maybe so many Chinese visitors for so long and the previous governor allegedly not releasing some very early covid cases figures and keeping the resort and the tills open until the very last possible moment and importantly they are doing some regular daily testing in Phuket.
A future problem could also be the many thousands of Phuket tourist industry workers returning home to the provinces of Issan etc to their families where testing is seemingly a last resort because of potential cost.

All the whoopee do!! Thailand is down to single digits as predicted and we can now buy booze,
But 6 people from how many tested 21? or 56? 0r 106? and where exactly are the test results from and in which provinces.
With a policy of some testing in just so few areas the low figures are a charade to present to the media and public and justify policies.
What about reality with at least a thousand tested in each of the major cities nationwide.??
The beer ban being lifted is important because you would have to be slightly under the influence to really believe in your head or heart that these figures released are representative of the real Covid rate for a 70 million population that has a nationwide workforce that was for so many months exposed to the Chinese in the tourist areas of the country before dispersing nationwide.
They should re open the beaches!!...... so people can continue to bury their heads in the sand!!!

Maybe it was lost in translation! If there was no need for anyone to visit Immigration until 31 July, they may as well close it down! Extensions of stay for work, marriage to a Thai and retirement do not require the holder to leave Thailand, therefore they can and should be processed at the required time. How offices handle those who choose to let their extension expire and go after 31 July may differ from office to office - some may fine for overstay, some may be lenient. But there isn't much to gain by putting off the visit.
Their is a requirement to keep people out of the offices an amnesty declared why would their be fines for overstay.
Clearly the directive says no need to for 90 day dont come which applies to all the classes of visas you mentioned as still requiring attendance at an office.
You interpret it as only tourist visas or visas requiring border runs are exempt.
Fair enough, guess the guy at immigration has got it wrong ?

And as long as we all follow the same procedure, immigration will have no excuse to attempt to fine/bribe any of us. This really is a case of 'united we are strong'.
No 90 day reports until they tell us otherwise. And when you do next visit immigration, make sure you have a copy of the order in your folder.
Yes exactly no need to attend for anyone until at least 31st July or as a new notification is issued.
Running along to do 90 day reports because its quick or to show 800k in bank etc etc will confuse immigration officers themselves! you have been told official statement amnesty unitl 31st July for all classes of visas no need to go, its written in blue and white and as i read it that includes visas that have simply been extended for the year ....they are still a visa albeit extended.....so they are not excluded.
Try calling 1178 immigration visa hotline as a guy did yesterday their was a whole thread on the subject he was told everybody has amnesty including retirement extensions until 31st July and or further announcement.

Lordy their was a thread yesterday where a guy had called immigration hotline twice and clearly be told the extension amnesty does include those on retirement yearly extensions with no need to do it if due now or soon...... was a clear directive ...........you dont need to go to an immigration office.
Why are people here been encouraged to still go, the whole idea of the amnesty was to stop people having to attend.!

No I expect a number approaching the single digits perhaps 11 or 10, because thats what they choose to release even a blind man can see whats happening here!
Extensive testing nationwide in relation to a 70 million population especially in the areas that have densely populated communities would give a real picture and abate a lot of future suffering, but it comes at a price of the testing and further extensive monthly support for all!
it would require some huge scoops from the ministerial troughs and possibly a dip into Thailands currency and gold reserves a plan that doesnt bode well with the leadership.

57 minutes ago, Guderian said:They really need to stop playing around in the margins looking for a new case here and two news cases there and start mass-testing of immigrant workers stuck in crowded dormitories. Around 80% of all cases in Singapore have been linked to dormitories housing low-paid workers. Construction sites around Pattaya, Phuket and Bangkok would be a good place to start.
And while they're at it, aggressive testing of compounds and villages where low-paid Thais live in overcrowded conditions is also needed. If the virus is currently circulating undetected among the general population, waiting for its chance to start some clusters leading to uncontrolled exponential growth, then these are the places it's most likely to be, where the low-paid of any nationality are forced to endure cramped and crowded conditions (not just foreigners, geddit it Khun Prayut and Khun Anutin?).
Please get you thumbs out of your butts, testing people, measuring the temperature of 100,000 motorists in air-conditioned cars and finding that none of them has an elevated temperature tells you nothing useful at all. Go ye forth into the poor places and test many souls there, if you dare!
Totally agree.!!!......l but they are working to their own agenda of minimal sporadic testing if that and publishing a daily downward trend of cases, bearing no relation to the 70 million population.
They appear not to care about the harsh reality and churn out nonsense figures like TAT!
WHO and heads of state should be calling soon to consult Prayut on his magical Covid 19 management policy.

is MT you can do a 90 day in 2 minutes
But their is absolutely no need to do a 90 day report for the next 3 months and after that it will probably be the following 90 days when they begin again.
The whole amnesty is to keep people out of immigration offices, no one expects you to run off there to show them 800k in a bank what an earth for?
its all on hold for 3 months thats the whole idea.!

-
Isnt the amnesty announced that zilch is required by anyone until the 31st July, total nonsense package is on hold for three months for everyone no need to go to immigration.
Have i misunderstood this.?
Maybe its the girls in tight uniforms thats making some guys still want to go to their immigration office.

How many of them sat round a table in deepest discussion to come up with this stunning revelation.?
Why does Thai visa even bother to run this sensational breaking news story!
Later will be the even more predictable virus figures continue to decline story ....... down to 10 positives for the day from 29 people tested nationwide.

A daily release of how many tests conducted at each of the hospitals at all of the cities nationwide with the results.......... would produce a clear picture.
However this would involve clarity and honesty and show true numbers being tested in relation to a 70 million population.
New Zealand population 6 million and a full lockdown. Circa 1400 covid cases.
Thailand population 70 million and a partial curfew and prior 6 months exposure to masses of Chinese.
Circa 2800 covid cases.
Simply amazing Thailand.!
Wake up and smell the coffee!

I remember a story about a month ago where the figure of 3,000 cases by the end of April was predicted by some minister or "expert".Just wondering if he had some inside knowledge of the forth coming program?
He just had crystal balls !

So should I bring the country to it’s knees and possibly incite riots or try start get the country going again in areas that are virus free to start with ????
Heads or tails !
Or option C start feeding the people providing funds for all,and start a program of extensive free testing nationwide to deal with the real facts however harsh.
This would involve some huge scoops from the ministerial troughs and a dip in the massive gold and currency reserves held by the nation.
He needs a chat with the real boss and forget the begging letters!

Thailands incredible handling of Covid amazing, the less we test the less positives to report and the hundreds tested at private hospitals we wont include those figures either.
So a country of 70 million who welcomed the Wuhan Chinese for months has only circa 2900 positives.
Stunning management by Team Thailand... country opened up again soon fantastic! nothing to see here move along please....... and over the coming months just an incredible increase in cases of Dengue or seasonal flu or simply routine lung failure but not Covid 19 so no need to count the numbers!
No loss of face and minimal damage to the levels of the ministerial troughs!
lets wait for todays figures maybe 18 and not out from a total of 127 tested nationwide.........the rest just give them 12 paracetamol a day that will bring the temperature readings down.
I posted this earlier in another topic before todays planned figures.... i guessed 18, not so far off.
Press release for single figures by end of week is being drafted now!

Dont worry the free and extensive testing conducted in all provinces will keep us safe!!!
Nothing to see here move along please ..... he had mixed too much alcohol with the 10 daily paracetamol the village doctor prescribed in lieu of a covid 19 test for his laboured breathing and high temperature.
Next 50 please.

I am still amazed, how anyone can say "Thailand is working"!
They are still not testing, all the numbers they have are plucked out of thin air, they are absolutely unable to financially help their poor and they basically come up every day with 3 different plans, that will be revised 3 hours later!
How thick are your rosy glasses?
Absolutely spot on!

Eighty year old Frenchman pays 50,000 bail for flouting Pattaya beach regulations
in Pattaya News

Absolute disgraceful bar stewards!
80 years old should have been sent on his way with a warning for standing near the beach with friends.
Ripped for 50k by a bail guy, a future court date and and passport retained.
Ripped by the escort home just extortion at its finest.
Have they no common sense or shame? ..... guess the redundant jet ski scam is leaving empty coffers that need replenishing!
One for the international press I think to see Thailands finest at work!!
