  1. I did an extension today for a retirement ending 21 August and was given 12 months from that date as in 20th August 2021, the 27th of September amnesty wasnt considered and the 90 day report was done again from todays date.... so nothing gained from the amnesty, was concerned if i had left it until the end of September may of had to start with a new non 0 all over again not just renew the expired extension.

All seems such a load of nonsense, and expense to stay here and contribute to the economy.... you have to really love this place or have masochistic tendencies to go through the ludicrous immigration hoops.

I'm starting to worry that all of this news on the country being Covid free and all of the cases only being in quarantine is false.

You would need extreme hallucinatory abilities to believe the total facade of government announcements re Covid 19.........of course the country is very far from being free of the virus.

Only 100k tested from a 70 million population and from that 100k around 20k had Covid antibodies..... around 20%.

A huge broom and carpet is amazing Thailands Covid policy.

Why ? Plenty of B and B's around the UK for long term workers, etc. I'm stuck in the Uk now and I can get a room £70 a week - though I pay £90 for a larger room. Which is little more than a Thai condo or house. Course, you may have to stay in a city town that you don't like if on a budget

Would really like to know where you can get accommodation in the Uk for 90 quid a week or less, do you have any details? Seems many places need employment and Uk bank references etc .....if only going back for 6 to 9 months thats not easy.

    Any information appreciated, thanks.

Apparently there is a great heart hospital in khon Kean but it is government hospital, which means sitting around in a waiting room for hours and hours being shuffled from pillar to post, with poor English skills (and my Thai is terrible).

    .......................................

Been to the heart hospital Queen Sirijit at Khon Kaen many times, they have an evening clinic after 4pm which isnt so chaotic and the prices are much less than the regular private hospitals.

They too can be not serious dont worry, I had missed beats in the morning then in the evening for a while heart was skipping every 6/7 th beat so got myself to this hospital and of course ECG was ok and palpitations skipped beats had calmed down...... so sent on my way with explanation PVCs normal.

However what could help you they have a premium clinic Monday to friday 8am intil 4pm its on the same floor as outpatients and ER and you are unlikely to wait at all, you could order have all the tests you want at a major saving on private hospitals. I think their Stent price is around 200k if it came to that.

Clinic has separate entrance etc peaceful reception few people and an English speaking nurse.

    It's a joke, 3 million Baht cover!

Even if you were unlucky enough to be diagnosed with Covid19 while in Thailand which is unlikely given the testing it would require at the very most (on average) a 3 week stay in hospital. I would be surprised if that would come to 200,000 baht.

Im looking at insurance now and thinking about harsh realities of health care in Thailand.

If you were taken very ill and shipped off to a private hospital without choice as a farang then I know a hospital like the nationwide Bangkok Hospital group is circa 70k a night for ICU ..... so if two weeks in Icu for any reason thats circa 1 million baht,a worrying thought.

To clarify this policy for age 61 to 65 will provide inpatient cover up to 100,000 USD aprox 3 million baht and just 40 k outpatients for one year for all medical conditions, operations, routine, emergencies and accidents etc.

This is without any copay I presume? will Pacific cross pay directly to the major hospitals here as in flash the card in the wallet and it gets sorted?

You get a card, and they have a direct payment plan with many Bangkok hospitals.  One problem, is they take a week to issue the certificate locally, but you might not need to show the original at BKK, but I needed it for OA extension.  The 72 hour thing is problematic, too, as it takes many of us 30 hours+ to get here.

Can i buy this in Thailand ? are the figures quoted without copay? 3 baht million of full cover I think will cover most problems ? maybe wrong,, 40 k outpatients I presume is average.

Guess I need to go direct to their website to see the full options, anyone have any experience with this company.

  8. Tukcom shopping mall on the 2nd or 3rd floor has a massive section with many laptop repair guys with some English spoken and reasonable services.

Its right opposite the Kosa hotel and 2 mins from Pullman hotel in the centre of town.

    Good luck.
