why do they have to beg for supplies and support?
Especially a huge why to request public support?
A health department matter for sure and under normal circumstances serious cases are always transferred by ambulance to the nearest large well equipped hospital as mentioned.
Something not quite right about this.

Very sad situation, maybe the government could arrange some funding and perhaps a delivery of urgent supplies food etc as a hospital might expect and a relief doctor or two.

54 from the 100,000 or more being tested for free nationwide every day isnt so bad.
Maybe could convert the BMW smart cars into rapid response mobile test units, four nurses in each collecting blood samples from all the small clinic local hospital areas of Issan where folk cant get to or dont want to travel 50km or more to the nearest major hospital.

That'll be 12 to 18 months when a vaccine becomes available. Reckon they'll be closed that long?
it was a flying pigs statement!
Immigration would remain open for victims even with a nuclear holocaust or a zombie apocalypse.

Can they not give a daily how many tested statistic in relation to the positives, also the location of the new cases daily.
The more forthcoming with information they are the more their people will begin to trust in them.
We had a government statement instructing private hospitals to test and treat freely without charge, followed by Hua Hin hospital spokesman proudly announcing their 3k to 5k baht charges etc and Bangkok hospital 25k promotion test.
We promise to make masks freely available nationwide at normal prices along with sanitizer no one will be allowed to profiteer etc.
However difficult to find sanitizer and masks when available at least 20baht.
So many conflicting statements, better to stop the announcements.
Clarity and honesty with a dash of reality would be great!

Fantastic something sensible at last..................clearly the peasants are revolting and only a few attending!
Long live the rebellion.................. embassy letters, landlords having to attend, requiring your old school reports etc will be but a distant memory in the new climate of compassion reason and common sense.
Within a couple of weeks immigration offices will close their doors entirely everything suspended until the pandemic is fully under control.

Unless your permanent address in Thailand registered with immigration changes, no need to worry about notifications online or scurrying off to immigration to report a trip, its just needless stress.
-
Auto Extensions until 30th April if you current pts date expired before that.
90 day reports not needed only if due up until 30th April.
non 0 or retirement expiring after this date no extension.
So now the 9th, they have allowed 21 days of amnesty, truly stunning how incredibly myopic they seem to be.
Or they have true clairvoyant abilities and they already have the virus figures they will publish for the end of the month and in Thailand all we be fine.
The sensible 3 month extension for all across the board reviewable just too horrendous for them to entertain.

Not really a luxury....more like waste of money ????
Elite is a waste of money ... even with buckets of cash. you can simply pay an agent to get you unrestricted visa access as required for a fraction of the cost and the saving spent on pure indulgence .....if youre in that financial position.

Wuhan province just lifted travel and flight restrictions, perfect opportunity to invite a few thousand Chinese to come and enjoy Songkran in Phuket with a warm welcome back from all!

Bucket loads of cash cures most problems, sometimes not health issues, in this country and allows for a fantastic life here, sadly some of us dont have that luxury.

hard core BOOMERS
whats a hard core boomer, im guessing a total conformist of sorts.
An arranged just one day of farang absence hurts nobody, doesnt break any laws immigraton or otherwise but does send a message.
Current immigration scenario actually breaks their own COVID 19 emergency social distancing laws.

Westerners should announce when ready Thai style we are tired with going to immigration and performing like circus animals through hoops.
OR at least a one day protest nationwide, no one, not one farang goes to any immigration office anywhere on the pre arranged one day only of non attendance.
They would certainly notice and be stunned, perfectly legal, whatever your needs with immigration simply do it before or after the one designated day of unity and protest against draconian treatment.
Wouldnt break any immigration or country laws and you could still fulfil your visa requirements the next day etc.
Just one peaceful day of nobody going to an immigration office anywhere!
The puzzled staff may well enjoy that restful nothing to do day!!

Always amazed at the dumbo falangs every time I go immigration. There was fighting at the gate because of line jumpers, dumbo falangs holding everything up becaue they had arrived with no documents and expected immigration to have someone to prepare everything for them. <deleted> in the line in front of me yapped on an on the whole time as to what the Thais were doing wrong and how he could manage everything so much better (t shirt, shorts, no face mask,) was turned away at the gate for the third day running, told come back tomorrow.. how many days will he line up for hours to be turned away before the penny drops??.
As always I was dressed respectfully, quietly kept to myself in the line, had all my paperwork well prepared, was admitted right away, was treated promply and very well by immigration staff, concluded my business and was out of there and eating breakfast at 9am.
How very charming of immigration, you were only exposed to NO social distancing for just the 3 hours from
6am to 9am,........perhaps you should drop them in a thank you letter and some lunch.

The 3 virus deaths from yesterday are only foreigners. I don´t wonder why.
They only reported the foreign deaths as to keep the focus on the westerners.
Thais above fifty years old cause of death just usual lung failure pretty routine in Thailand no need for the expense of mass testing....save the funds for more BMW smart cars or Submarines.

Free and perhaps mandatory testing and treatment for everyone including westerners at all hospitals.
What percentage of the population have actually been tested ..............a tiny amount.
Stop local doctors sending people with a persistent high temp and other ailments home with a sack of paracetamol and get them tested asap.....
Especially officials and medical staff must stop focusing on westerners as main virus threats and realise hundreds of thousands of Thais have been exposed to the Chinese over the last few months.

For the 38th time of posting! and now the 39th .....because i am seething, what is he doing just sign the extension papers.... never mind a new building.
Thats like building more ICUs to deal with drunk drivers......just fix the problem.
its so easy ............lordy lordy ,I give up!!!! steam coming out of my ears!
Social distancing is the rule worldwide and their own rule here in Thailand, so follow the lead of neighbouring Asian countries and put all this nonsense on hold.
Is Thai immigration policy truly more important than a worldwide pandemic................
An easy fix that can be reviewed monthly as the situation unfolds.
Automatic 90 day extension for all on current permission to stay stamp..
No need to attend immigration for anything, no overstay fines, no 90 day reports or tm30, stops the risk for staff and victims clients.
Just a common sense solution as everyone and their friendly soi dog has suggested for the last month or so.!

its a worldwide crisis when peoples fears need to be allayed and be treated with compassion, understanding and dignity.............so of course Team Thailand will continue to excel themselves!
One month already to deal with it and the documents were ready for signing last night, but seems the fat lady has stage fright .....still clearing her throat!
Westerners should for their own health and that of the staff just stop attending crowded places in the interest of common sense and as per the request of the Thai government for social distancing.

It is a 90 day reporting alternative to visiting immigration but requires stamps so you still have to go out to buy them and mail the letter.
But its been suspended so no need for stamps etc ....
Sure some unfortunate guys having been so indoctrinated with immigration conformity over the years will still be trying to do it, or rushing to fill in a tm30 if they accidently cross the borders into another province or presenting to their local office to proudly show still they still have 27 million baht in the bank and havent spent it on loose women, gambling and whisky.

Give Pinocchio a large whisky, put a pen in his hand and get it done!!
Its better than nowt and the current farce, but cant see Covid resolved in a month, unless the figures have already be prepared for the next few weeks and they are also just waiting approval.

So for people on retirement or marriage visas, they can add 30 days to what ever permission to stay date they have now.
They also dont need to do 90 day reports if due in the next 30 days?

A Nationwide policy of free testing for everyone at every hospital, no charges no exceptions.
Would cost less than one unneeded submarine and could save the population great distress, i doubt a sub will ever do that,
