No need to panic visit immigration causing them an enormous workload or do anything just the 100% directive clear statement issued and understanding that we all have 90 days extra to our current stamp under this emergency situation...........simple hassle free.
Can be reviewed later as the situation unfolds.
Just had a thought they could actually kill two birds one stone etc .....by making a free 90 extension for all as above..........
Also now close all immigration offices for at least a month or two, so to ease the worries from staff continually having to deal with the unwashed in crowded offices and contain the virus spread.

Claiming the money back you have as much chance as getting a refund at a soapy massage because it didnt end happily.......

I concur totally, very misleading only if you have a work permit, pay tax, have a Thai medical social security card can you claim...... or are lucky enough to be married to a thai woman who wears a tight fitting civil service uniform to work.
However if you do have the thai medical card treatment should be free as it should be for Thai ID card holders.
Just dont get it how the government deem fit to charge everyone to be tested........and allow the private hospital profiteering and extreme price gouging for the test in these emergency times?

Yep the thai working girls returning from Korea mostly come from Issan and possibly many thousands returning from Pattaya, Phuket, Bangkok ,,,etc
At the sign of being unwell are they going to rush to hospital and it seems now be forced to pay a few thousand baht for a check up...............or use that money to put food and beer on the table for their families and enjoy songkran.?
Worryingly it seems the concentration of concern is on the 9 million of Bangkok and not so much planning for the other 60 million scattered nationwide.

Your airline having cancelled your flight has a legal obligation to find you another flight or way home at their cost and provide accommodation and food .....not beer etc until you are on your way home.

The 30 bht scheme is for only government hospitals. My wife was told they by several privet hospitals including Bangkok hospital that she wont be covered under the 30 bht healthcare scheme an to go to the government hospital.
Yes your wife is right the scheme is for use at a designated government hospital in your own province.
However as mentioned a few years back the gov decreed that if you needed rapid treatment at the nearest hospital anywhere.,......they are obliged to treat you freely both private or government if you were a Thai citizen.
At the time the private hospitals were none too pleased at the idea of Somchai and a pickup full of his family members turning up in their ER departments for a triple bypass op for 30 baht.
The full article was on here a few years back.

Are these only from the circa 400 apparently tested daily only in Bangkok........ what about the rest of the country apart from Bangkok hospitals 25k package nationwide, are their official results for testing in all areas..
What about Phuket? or does Prayut need permission from the real head money man before figures can be disclosed or bars closed or jet ski scam suspended for a couple of weeks.

So stay home and cure it with tiger balm is the underlying message...
Forget to wash your hands and any of that gets down under, youll have a lot more to worry about than a lousy virus.

The government issued a directive few years back that under the 30baht scheme even private hospitals cannot refuse to freely treat a Thai, however in practice maybe impossible.
Any private hospital will ask for insurance details almost immediately from a farang or Thai.
However Bangkok hospital charging 25 k for a Covid screen is disgusting but aimed at wealthy thais knowing that the insurance will pick up the tab.
The whole point under the dire emergency circumstances it should be free testing for anyone with symptoms to avoid the spread.....
Perhaps the head numb nuts could finally honour his word and make masks and sanitizer freely available to buy nationwide.................one month now locally and still SOLLY NO HAB.
-
So is it fake or not?
Not sure why Thai nationals are not covered under the 30baht scheme as they are for all other health issues.
Although this guy was using insurance i guess at a private hospital to accrue that sort of bill.

The very people who are at greatest risk and medics in the front line cant get a free test ............what kind of pot do these ministers smoke before agreeing these policies??
Absolute lunacy testing should be free to all Thai Id card holders under the 30 baht scheme.
As for Bangkok Hospital chains poster ad, offering tests screening for 25k is just blatant price gouging and they should be forced to charge a reasonable price..its a @@@#%%%%% disgrace!
Perhaps they should offer their own branded covid 19 amenity bag containing face masks and hand sanitizer with BKK hospital logo at a special virus promotion discount 2999 baht.

Just for two weeks and only Bangkok, guess the other large cities nationwide and the beach resorts will need a few hundred positives tests before they qualify for the scheme.

Soon the central supply depots will be visited and all the loo roll purchased and shipped out to Australia to fund another Mercedes for a junior minister............. who can blame the shortage on pesky farangs.
-
It would be good to have some confidence in their control of the situation, but to go on Thai Tv clearly state that they have provided face masks etc .....when for three weeks every pharmacy in my area has none available and this is a pattern nationwide.
So everyone watching Thai or Farang can see that he isnt aware of the real situation.... unlikely, or prefers to just lie to millions.
-
So many of the girls working in Korea now returning and the exodus of girls from Pattaya, Phuket etc when the bars are closed, will be going back to their Issan villages having been exposed to numerous travelling holidaying westerners and Chinese etc over the last few months...... they should all be given free testing as a matter of routine.
A girl given the choice of paying 6k for a Covid test or putting food and drink on the table for her family at Songkran will always go with the latter.
-
The cost should be covered for Thai nationals by the 30baht scheme that was what it was designed for unless the present military rulers have decided to cancel the scheme for Covid which would be ludicrous, if they can afford second hand Chinese subs they can dig deep to simply protect their people.
However if all people had free access to a test,, the numbers would be harsh as expected and i dont think the hospital system here could cope and neither could the generals easily deal with the mayhem.

Get rid of numb nuts and make this guy the new minister of health.
He appears to have some degree of medical knowledge, quite useful for the position under current circumstances.
-
What is his qualification to be health minister.... a trained surgeon perhaps? or once took a paracetamol!

9 hours in a room of dirty unwashed farangs is worrying without a mask, however you cant buy one because they arent available so dont go.

Should think they have other things to worry about at the moment.
Simply dont do it, relax, perhaps make some attempt at online even if it doesnt work take a screenshot and when you next go to immigration just explain with the virus situation thought best not to visit a crowded office as you didnt have a mask because none were for sale!!!.......... but attempted online reporting, which you thought had worked, smile wai and decline any request for a fine payment.

Thai authorities set to clarify situation on visa overstay as a result of COVID-19

It would appease all the stressed out stranded worried farangs and the immigration staff and one less headache for Prayut.
However as you rightly say and I had forgotten, the loss of millions of baht in daily revenue nationwide would be a deciding factor.
