Strange they are concerned by these machines, yet their are highly visible betting offices of some kind in every other street although gambling is illegal.

The Thai labour office is very helpful towards the westerner in matters of incorrect procedures or non adherence to the employment laws by employers.

Perhaps thai visa could send an official email to dumb and dumber on behalf of its Farang membership,
along the lines of, we would like to conform and wear masks as previously requested, could he please advise asap where our readers can buy some, as apparently their is no shortage.
Really they are total maniacs .... 3 tonnes shipped overseas and their own people and medical staff facing shortages, all for what to make a few bob when as ministers they are already flush with cash.
Not even a charade or pretense of caring about fellow Thais.
Accountability seemingly non existent.......the people of this land need to be a bit more revolting.

Here in Issan huge city have seen notices in the pharmacies for over three weeks out of stock and all 7/11s out of stock.
Yet told 3 million plus were being sent out to all 7/11s nationwide 2 weeks ago ...............nationwide in China perhaps.
Forgetting us Farangs for a moment ,,,,its disgusting the utter contempt with which they treat their own Thai people and the utter bull sheet they continue to spout in public service fairy tales.

It is all about containment. There is nothing the hospital an do for you other than support you if you have severe symptoms (trouble breathing; acute pain) (low blood oxygen; oxygen support; renal failure ICU) until your natural immunity has come to the rescue. In fact going to the hospital (unannounced) is the worst thing to do as you are only putting the entire medical facility at risk of quarantine. You should call ahead and find out where to go for testing if needed, emergency should be only used for those that need immediate medical attention (and there is nothing they could do for you at this point). They should have actually told you to exit the building and wait isolated somewhere until someone is available for 'testing' (if testing is available).
In the Uk or europe etc the above would apply, you wouldnt go to ER or a clinic you would go to an arranged isolation cubicle for testing after an initial phone call ...........however this is Issan Nong khai not a major city they just dont have the facilities or set up.
Been to many government hospitals in Issan lovely well meaning people, however in an area where deaths by dengue fever are routine, i was shocked when visiting the toilet in one which was plagued with mosquitos and the staff just laughed at my idea to buy a 50baht spray to clear it once a day.
For all the shopping malls, mercs, golden ordained temples and superb hospitals in Bkk it is still a third world country and even though we have enormous affection for the place it can be very frustrating for anything of a serious nature without unlimited cash which normally sorts most problems here.

I hope his statement is shared with facebook worldwide etc and gets maximum exposure, i am sure he would wish his views and love of protecting his Thai citizens to be aired, showing what a true upstanding person he is.

Stunning really the UK near 10,000 infected and here less than 100, really truly amazing Thaland.
Health minister blaming farangs for not wearing a mask yet his fellow ministers cronies allegedly seemed to have acquired a few million.....
Meanwhile every pharmacy and 7/11 in my area are sold out....so how exactly would numb nuts expect us farangs along with his own people be able to buy and wear one.?

They are not a government voted in to power by the people they are a mil@@@tary dict@@@ ship,
Couldnt get a <deleted> in pattaya and certainly not fit to run a country, time for the family the people love so much to kick this lot out and have a real honest transparent election system with a true government not a military forced rule.

The agencies make a good amount but without doubt out of the allocation for each western teacher by the government a huge amount by way of envelopes filters directly back to the director, this is a huge factor in the initial procurement negotiations of the contract by the agency and school.
Really their should be a union or representation of western teachers and everyone should not be allowed to work for less than 45k but if they did, their .would be plenty of none NES teachers who would and do now work for sub 30k salary.

Seems it went a bit pear shaped for Thai airways last night.

A minor mishap easily done at such a busy airport.

if you had just arrived or wanted to travel and had the idea to buy a mask as a precaution............. sorry sir no hab!!
All masks have been acquired by our ministers and their cronies..............for special distribution but not to hospitals or the public or tourists in this country.

read this topic from yesterday might help you.

You would think they would be ashamed ridiculed etc.....cant even organise enough face masks for hospital staff and joe public not a chance of buying any......yet 200 million have gone somewhere.
But its just a bunch of old soldiers not truly elected being given jobs as ministers running the country.
Minister of healths qualificaton for the job ......once bought a packet of paracetamol.
Thai people are naturally compliant taught not to question or think too much and those who are smart have enough money to conform, their are exceptions but they are quickly silenced.

. I wonder why he couldn't type emergency number and press send
The emergency number is 1669 i think for an ambulance but i dont think it can trace your whereabouts if you can only send or dial and cannot speak thai or are barely able to speak.
Not as in the Uk a 999 call will trace you.
I would like to be wrong on this and would be interested in an emergency number that if you are in need will get you emergency help here in Thailand?

In the past i have twice just left some considerable time after my contract finished but within the duration of the extension, however you do need to leave from an airport for a hassle free no questions asked exit , each time i didnt cancel my work permit.
On both occasions i returned to employment with a work permit and a new b visa extended without hassle from the same immigration and labour office as my earlier employment.

Where can you buy a mask should you require one? every pharmacy and 7/11 dont have any, this is in a major city, even though the in control soldiers in suits promised availability of millions nationwide.

...The hospitals routinely have hundreds upon hundreds of people jammed together waiting to check in/be seen..
Just like many government hospitals here in Thailand where they look at you like you are crazy if you suggest they spray the toilets to kill the infestation of mosquitos, in areas where people routinely die of dengue fever.
Never mind they have nice white uniforms and little areas to pray in.

it would be great to have a news item of something helpful, sensible and well planned that the Thais have done.............like finishing the beach road promenade or spending a few million sourcing and delivering face masks to pharmacies and 7/11 s as promised so joe public could buy one if required etc etc.
37 million could have kept all the orphanages in Pattaya going for a year or so.

Our courageous guys of immigration strike again ...good to know another heinous law breaker is not at large.
It would be awful if their was a spate of 1178 false alarms .... reported farang overstayers at Thai residences.... imagine the scene smart cars, photographers, machine gun totting swat teams, generals in full regalia ...... and not a farang to be found let alone an overstayer.
Smart cars and immigration staff on one wild goose chase after another...... how tragic!

So its all under control you can believe the daily bullsh@t government statements...............
Yet it seems that every pharmacy in my area has a no masks available sign and the millions that were supposed to be made available at 7/11s have vanished.
So if you are at risk due to age or having to be amongst a crowd etc or with a sick person or visiting a hospital or simply wanting a mask to protect from the air quality you cant ......... unless you have a sewing machine to hand.
Stunning planning and logistics by the half wits.
The ministers couldnt get pished in a brewery or get laid in Pattaya even if their were five thousand working girls!

I wonder if they have a brain cell between them..........who sanctions these press release photos?
Round up a few hookers and present a photo with heavily armed masked police and this does exactly what to enhance the image of Thailand, clearly lunatics running the asylum.

If they offered free testing and treatment as suggested by the minister the infected numbers would certainly rise which is a reality,........a noun they seldom like to embrace.

You cannot be serious lol do you want photos.......maybe i am mistaken and wrongly informed by my Thai friend and they are just solicitors or money lending shops but without any signage.
Of course their arent knocking shops every couple of kms in Thailand either.
