    There were clues in my post...why not foreigner or foreign man/boy/lady/girl etc if talking or writing in English ? Farang being fine if talking in Thai.

    From the original post: ThaiRath reported that Shanghman travelled to the dam with his friends and a tour guide. They were staying at a floating raft accommodation called Krisorn Float. Perhaps the "tour guide" referred to was just a guy in a pick-up who took them there.

    Serious question. but wouldn't a tour guide normally be involved in the registration process ? Given that it's their business, after all .

    Thais drive more like freestyle soloists. Doing whatever they (the individual) want, with scant regard for other road users, oblivious to everyone else . Major reasons why road accidents are statistically so poor . Not really so harmonious in effect.😁

    It's a valid comment given that the article refers to pedestrians stepping off the sidewalk, which is often due to them (food vendors etc)

    Although ultimately responsible for their own safety, if, as stated. a tour guide accompanied them. wouldn't it be expected that he/she would have paid some attention to the rules ?

    Thailand is no different in this respect than other countries. The "younger" generation leaning towards entitlement as opposed to respect.
