  1. Why would they? It's not as if the UK is continually making big noises over attracting millions of "quality" tourists from Thailand.
  2. Oh, and there was I thinking "besotted" was French for completely bladdered !????
  3. "Ten cases of negligent driving were dealt with by the department." Meaning what ?...Granny fell out the back of the pick-up ?
  4. People blindly pulling out onto the "straight" roads probably !
  5. If under the Test and Go programme then it's likely that, unless testing positive on arrival, you would be "released" before you're traced/contacted regarding being sat next to someone who did test positive. Perhaps not until registering for the 2nd test ? Different, of course, if it's one of your travelling group testing positive.
  6. I would expect that genuine tourists are more likely to follow these rules , simply because they are in a foreign country and perhaps a bit more fearful of the "Authorities". Returning Nationals possibly not so . Can't get most of them to turn their mobiles off nor remain seated until the aircraft has come to a complete stop !
  7. Well, here's hoping you "urge" them not to !
  8. Not sure you entirely understand the concept of insurance and it's purpose .????
  9. Not unless they can register as a musical entertainer before 14th Jan ! I know a few who can play the Piccolo or the big pink Oboe , so there's hope for some I guess !
  10. Presume the link was for a list of so-called " Government Designated" places, which are supposedly free. Were you given any idea on how it's planned to check that you have indeed undertaken the 2nd test ?
  11. Perhaps just a bit too subtle for you ? The last line more than a hint of sarcasm, maybe ?
  12. Don't believe he left without his passport, simply as he would need it to fly out at some point. Perhaps he just gambled on the test being negative (given the time elapsed), in which case, probably no further action would ever have been taken.
  13. This thread is, however, concerned with Thailand, therefore the comment has validity without being necessarily selective. If you choose to construe it any other way, that's your prerogative.
  14. And the innate ability to deny any responsibility for the consequences of this freedom.
  15. I rather think he's going there to face the music for whatever "charges" they want to press.
  16. That's a relief....I feared it might because they slept in them !
  17. They'll need to find those cases before engaging official policy. Perhaps a large scale outbreak in a factory or similar will prompt testing, otherwise and given the "supposedly minor symptoms, can't see Joe Public rushing anywhere other than the local pharmacy !????
  18. Especially given. ( or at least reported as such), that he left without the test result even being known . Fair enough if had already been told of a Positive outcome and was "escaping" the accompanying consequences, Maybe, after 24hrs, he didn't want to get billed for another night, or his mini bar consumption ! If he checked out normally, then the hotel are negligent. If not, they can charge him for the key as well !????

  20. Also, if he did a guilty "runner" before getting the results of the initial test, why did he later get 2 more tests done ?
