I've had the same thing happen to me twice after a power out rages ....the problem was the starter motor capacitor blow each time ....and had to be replace ( about 700b) ..it only effected one of my 5 units ....the engineer recommended turning the power off to that unit at every outrage ....and turning in back on again a short time after the power is back on ...that way there's not a power peak that can blow the starter capacitor.

My LG 11kg lasted just under 8yrs ..so it looks like an average life expectancy ....I bought a similar model ( NOT LG) from Lazada .. and saved about 25% if I'd have bought the same model from a shop outlet .. (36hrs and free delivery PC to my door)

Hello .
Just wondering if there is any feed back on how Immigration (Specifically Jomtien) is dealing with the new Retirement extension requirements ..I know is early days ..but it might be good to get first hand experiences of the new procedure and what to expect . Fore warned is fore armed ...
Please keep it as a point of reference to help people who will be applying in the near future ....and not merely a thread to slag the new requirement ..we have to live with it and moaning about it will not help anyone..

That place would be on foodies lists in San Francisco. Simply amazing. But I hear some of the big boys here are afraid to walk into that zone for some reason. Be warned they close at 7 p.m.

I was referring to the tourist part of Patttaya. That it appears to be down a lot.
The drive in as just the start of experiencing how quiet the tourist area is.I got to my hotel after 4pm no reservation, just walked in. I was offered rooms on any floor at front of hotel or back of hotel. So the hotel was basically empty. This is hotel that if there are tourists in town it is fully booked by 2 pm.
After booking in I took a walk down soi Diana from second road to soi bouykaew It was so quiet. During the whole walk 2 cars came down the soi, 5 motorcycles and 7 people walking 2 were foreigners. That was it. Never have I seen that before. It truly was like a ghost town.
Do not get me wrong I know this is just how it is at the moment and things change but boy was it a shocker to experience no one around.
And all you expats who live here in their gated communities do not worry the cesspool called Pattaya will be here for a long time. It may lose most of its tourist but will still survive with out any real infrastructure for a long time yet.
If you think Pattaya is a " Cesspool "
Quote :- I was tourist for 20 year but have been a resident for 12 years. I come to Pattaya about 6 times a year. I feel I have a very good feel for the pulse. I was probably here long before many posters even thought of visiting here.
why ! OH! why! Do you keep coming back ??? Is your home town that bad The Cesspool you call Pattaya is a better option than your home country/Town.... (double standards ) ..and yes I feel this is a troll post too

I fitted a reverse osmosis drinking water system under my sink and also added a UV light filter for added safety ..I have been using the system for nearly 4 years and have not had a issue with the water quality ....in fact the water quality is better than bottled water you buy ... The last water quality reading I took it was 007 ppm ( parts per million) distilled water being 0.00 ppm .....

Try not to look like a you've just stepped off the plane ...I always have my Buddhist amulet on display and speak Thai to the best of my ability and of cause a friendly smile ...I've never to my knowledge been ripped off in any restaurant or shop for that case ...I find 99.99% of Khun Thai to be honest and honourable. But no doubt the doom and gloom brigade will have the opposite opinion ...

I took my Tag for repair at Royal garden Pattaya ..second floor there's a jewellery shop with a watch repair guy at the front of the shop ...... As for battery replacement I go to a local guy at the market in Bang Saray he replaces the battery while I wait ...usually cost about 150b all in ....( never had a problem with compromised seal) he's also repaired the stainless steel wrist strap too when all the dealers said I needed a new strap and they want stupid money to do so.

Heard Buakoa area is full of dead heads ?
MMMMM !!!!!! "Dead Heads " or maybe " Cheap Charlies" By the sound of your request you'll fit nicely into both catagorises ...so Maybe Soi Buakhao should be your destination of choice .. or better still go into any 7/11 and purchase 10 Baht bag Mama and a large Chiang beer the sit on the step outside the shop and fill your belly whilst watching the world go by with envious eyes.

Save yourself a wedge of money..... Go to your local pharmacy and buy a bottle of 3% hydrogen Peroxide about 30 Baht ... pull a teaspoon (about 5ml) and swish around your mouth for a few minutes .... just like a regular mouth wash (DO NOT SWALLOW).....spit out and rinse your mouth out with fresh water then brush your teeth ....do twice a day for a couple of weeks or until you are happy with the whiteness you want ..then after that the use Hydrogen Peroxide 2 or 3 time a week by just incorporate into your usual daily oral hygiene routine to maintain a white bright smile .....It does work ...well it worked for me ...
PS the hydrogen Peroxide does froth on your mouth and increase in volume that is it doing job just spit a little out if it gets too much ????.

Ok today I went inside the belly of the beast....
My impressions...
First when I travel I like to spend as little time in airports as possible...I did not find the constant announcements that gate 23,25,27 what-ever is boarding for where-ever enduring...
I did like the lay-out of the mall...It has a good atmosphere and some unusual shops...
The food...I would say about 95% of the restaurants are geared towards Japanese/Chinese/Korean....There must be 20 plus sushi restaurants there.....Very little thought was given to what a farang might like....Well at least they had a Sizzler...A place called Teddys hamburgers looked kind of interesting and maybe a few more....The farangs are low man are the restaurant totem pole there....
The food court was OK....It was almost all Thai food...Yes it was cheap but the portions were not huge either....I had a real good smoothie for 35 baht and a good coconut ice cream for 15 baht..
It was pretty busy in the mall today...Loads of grade A prime beef eye candy...Better than the GoGo bars...lol......
One thing this mall has going for it is it has loads of photo-ops..So just this should keep the mall packed with tourist for a long time to come....
Me I think I will partake in a few more smoothies and maybe give some of that eye candy a test run...lol
Yeah! I am sure the sight of a farang drinking 35b smoothie whilst holding a melting 15b coconut ice cream ..You'll have all the Hi So Bangkok "totty" queuing up begging you to inseminate them on the spot lol..
PS it's a light hearted response not to be taken to heart ????
