91% of respondents look for distinctive culture and legacy in their location of choice, while 72% of tourists are conscientious of limiting their impact on the local environment.

I would have thought for 80% of EU tourists it would be a) weather b) cost c) media/adverts (selling the image of the deserted beach or the elephant ride in the mountains with weirdly dressed locals rather than the reality) c) food d) not the med.

Holiday costs in the med are being quite high due to accommodation costs, Thailand's hotels are a much cheaper and an excellent standard comparatively.

I can only tell of my experience. Wrote to the police and they replied that they aren’t allowed to say whether someone has a record but did state that to the best of their knowledge I am not wanted for anything.

Yes thats how ACRO works, the statement (certificate) they give you is that their search yielded no results ("no trace") at the time.

Many people who haven't lived here long, or haven't integrated into society don't realize what can happen when the power changes. I've developed 'relationships' with head police, who move on to be Senators, then when a coup happens, they're out and all that work/money has been wasted. Similarly, have known high-ranking army officers who lose their business when the police took over.  illegal immigrants who hide behind the fact that their bribery was done by an agent and the criminal giving their visa is an immigration policeman could be out at any time, when a new boss comes in.

I am not disagreeing at all.

But as corruption is endemic in Thailand it all becomes irrelevant as its just another person you pay rather than the "service" discontinues.

If race wasn't an issue , you wouldn't need to state what race they are , hating a person because they are White is indeed racist .

If you just hated rich people , that would be another matter.

Do you also hate rich Black people, or is it just rich White people you hate ?

Poor people hating rich people is no different to rich people hating poor people

I think all that wrestling messed with your faculties.

I do believe that hating  person because of their race is actually racist and hating a person because they are "White and rich" is no different to hating a person because they Black and poor .

"White" is not a racist term, neither is "black" for that matter.

If I say "white and rich" or "black and poor" its a demographic, not racist.
