Why is it so difficult to understand that in this modern day and age the elderly don't want to play the role imposed on them by a society so focused on youth, and are refusing to just wither away.
We have a zest for life that you fail to comprehend by your limited life experience.
If the elderly cannot find their slice of happiness in their home countries what for crying out loud is wrong with looking for it in faraway places.
I agree that many fail and that many are misguided but more than TV members realize succeed.
Don't be jealous ! Hopefully your time will come.

I claim it cannot.. leave out the money and see how long it takes for her to leave.
Well I have had that experience once when a business deal went very sour, and I had to scramble for a while to get back on top.
But mind you it was my younger European 2nd wife.
And let's be totally honest, don't you have a financial agreement in place with your nowadays partner? Do you love her any less because of that?
Now do me a favour, re-read the first 4 sentences of your first post on this topic (page 2) and then tell me that you're not biased against the elderly.
Rant over

(Calm down Aneliane, breath deeply, stress is bad for your alkaline level)
Is there actually such a thing as alkaline level in the body and can you change this?
Yes, for example eating too much vitamin C can cause serious problems.

I am reading here now, but i do think the money issue is a valid and good point. You don't see many Japanese with older guys neither Korean's.
You do see it happen with Thai / Philippines / Eastern Europeans.
Its a money issue, hard to deny facts like that.
Sure there are genuine relations i have actually seen some too. But in general its about the money.
As all over the world the poor will almost always try any means possible to better their lives, money is indeed an issue.
But I claim that a relation be it on money, can bring about mutual respect and genuine love.
Depends purely on the individuals involved.

there are a very rare few real relationships, but they are rare, good for you if your one of these.
but please dont deny its not rare and most are bs
In the housing estate where I live they are by far the majority, so not rare at all. Maybe the big difference is that most of these older guys are not whore mongers, drunks or loud mouthed individuals but just normal people going about their own business, have a sense of community, and generally are quite happy with their younger wives, as I am.
Judging by the attitude of the younger western members here on TV towards elderly people it is no wonder that so many of these elderly escape to a country where they at least can have a fairly happy live on a lot less money than in the west.
And let's be perfectly clear about it, I do hope that all of these young guys that look down on older people will have the change to experience themselves the bias that exist against age.

by the way, i never been with a whore and dont drink and smoke, so that screwsthat theory
Well maybe not, you can claim anything you want on an anonymous forum but you don't deny you're a loud mouth, and if I may say so you're language isn't exactly exemplary either.

Very well thought out observations.
Having said that I will be very, very surprised if this topic will go beyond the first page without the negative hordes of TV bursting on the scene.
Well done OP

So, I'm NOT surprised at all.

Why would someone from Isaan move to Pattaya to work at a Family Mart?
Because there is no work in the village ?
Sure, that is why many people leave their village. But there are thousands of Family Mart's and 7-11s all over Thailand. Including in Isaan. Why specifically move to Pattaya to work in one? The main difference is that a 7-11 clerk in Pattaya is going to get lots of offers from foreign mongers while at a normal 7-11 you would not get those offers. You even have a bit of a leg up over gogo girls as a lot of foreign guys will be attracted to a girl with a real job and think it's safer to get involved. Just seems like a potential minefield to get involved in.
And many move to somewhere where family members are i.o. to get cheap or free lodging to start with.
And you surely know that there are 7/11's, familymarts in Patpong, Patong, Soi cowboy etc.
Or are you one of the Pattaya bashers ?

It would help if we had any idea of when you plan to travel to see if any promotions are applicable.
I think your best bet would be Air France.

Alcohol free flights eh? I did business class with Kuwait one time...and enjoyed the flight not being full of pissheads. The six hour layover was hellish though with only a coffeeshop and my book to read it quickly became tedious.
I'm flying later this week Amsterdam-Bangkok with Egyptair...I know its dry in the air but can I get a beer at Cairo airport does anyone know?
That would be a refreshment stop I'd like to make!
Done some research. Apparently dry in the lounges but bar/resto in the transit hall serves beer.

Shows you how shallow western civilization and education are engrained in many persons.

You've never picked up a shop/supermarket/7-11 worker and subsequently paid them for sex?
You don't even need to visit Pattaya to do that.
Nurses and government workers ....... yep, my pals have done them too ......... the dirty dogs.
Are you seriously suggesting that 7-11, hospitals, and governments offices are sex related industries.?

Interesting read: there is some discontent behind the scenes, too.
Typical British media drivel.
Anything goes as long as it's anti Arsenal. Would you trust this Russian gangster on the board ?

Am using Aeroflot in December to Europe, cheapest around.
Matrix is just an engine to help you, you cannot buy tickets from the site, but you can print out the fare make up and give it to the travel agent to try and match.
Is there a website that I can use the matrix software?
Yes here : http://matrix.itasoftware.com/

Yes 27 years ago.
Left with Thai Airways on a friday from Amsterdam for 2 nights in Bangkok in the then newly opened ShangriLa hotel to be at my best friends wedding.
And yes Thai flew from AMS those days with a DC9 via New Delhi.
Trip that I'll never forget.

Have a look here.
Thanks. Do you know if they are a repair centre, in other words do they have technicians on site as mentioned by Pormax in his post above, or are they limited to dispensing hearing aids?
Why don't you ask siemens for their nearest repair center ?

Long terms are (I think) THB 140 a day with free shuttle service leaving every 5 mins from the parking.
Yes, but out in the open. If it rains and you stand there with your luggage waiting for the bus?
As Negreanu said, not worth the hassle.
