    Well a friend dropped by there this morning and all apoears to be as it should. Although after my experience it doesnt instill confidence to give them my passport. Hope your mileage is better than mine.

    I find you dont "choose" them, they evolve. A brief encounter becomes an aquaintance becomes a friend. How long they remain there is another matter. Last one I made passed on, thats the problem when you make them later in life. Here in Thailand it seems many, myself included, prefer not to go beyond the aquaintance stage, a polite smile and nod is sufficient it seems for most.

    And yet my personal experience is as follows: Telephoned the the office, no answer, cut off after a few rings. Telephoned the mobile number, Girl answered and as soon as I spoke in English, she hung up. Telephoned a number I was given for Darren, got a recorded message, left a message never got a call back. Thats why and how this topic got started.!
