    I don't believe there is anything like "Smokey Mountain" in Thailand.. The poverty in some areas beggars belief!!! Had a girl take me to Tondo once - just WOW!!!

    Ha ha someone who thinks like me. I too am pretty happy to put up with a bit of discomfort in a plane, a few hours in an airport etc all the while saving a few hundred dollars.

    Agree with the beaches being far superior and the booze much cheaper but the food must be close to the worst on earth!!

    I cant believe that there are so many votes for Singha. During my travels between Phuket and Isaan I would say Singha drinkers are about as common as rocking horse <deleted>. I personally only know one!!!
