They might be able to sell more than compulsory 3rd part, but with the value of my bike I would even think about it!

The sign for the government test centre I always though looked a bit like a castle. But someone else's description as looking like a cog seemed much better. It is (if I recall) yellow on blue??
Go down soi 19 and if not there come back up soi 17. It is at the Nimen end of the soi and sooooo easy to find. (don't forget odd number soi's are on the left side heading towards T Suthep) Its a big shed with car pits and car wash etc

When I did my extension in January Chiang Mai told me I HAD to do a 90 day reporting on the day my extension started, 2 months early.
-
A bit closer to home.
Nimenhimen Road, soi 17 or 19. Which ever there is the normal cog or castle sign on the junction. On the left hand side of the soi is a big open space with cars etc. Car wash at the far end. Go to that end and the guy sitting at the table will do the test, give him your green book and then he will do the test, tax and insurance. You pick up your green book and tax disc a day or so later. Cost is a smidge over 500 baht.
Used to be a tv to watch during the 10-15 minutes it took.

Reminds me about Land rovers.
When asked if they were reliable and lasted well the manager said they didn't know yet, only been making them since 1945.
(I know it is not a motor bike but I like the story ........................)

Going to court is expensive and you do not know the outcome.
But the threat to an owner of cutting utilities or access makes money appear like magic in many cases.
Once you get delinquent payers down to a small percentage people get into the habit of paying bills and there are fewer problems.
P.S. but do it nicely .....................
-
Yes, water and electricity can be cut off.
And access to common areas cut off, including the entrance to the building. That means the owner can not go in or out of the building.
Draconian, but it works.

to add to mdechgan isn't
008 also for TOT and a baht or so cheaper than 007 on TOT

As a Brit I have noticed the effect of your Governments act.
UK banks now ask if you are a US resident/citizen or something and if you are they either insist on extra information and documents or some banks say you can not have an account.
-
Rather think the answer will be no.
But I use the US keyboard and then use a program called Keyboard layout manager from http://www.klm32.com to edit the keyboard file so that the £ sign comes with ctrl 3.
You can make other changes as well but to be honest moving other keys is unnecessary.

All train stations can book tickets - even online these days.
To do that go to the state railways of Thailand Thai website and click on the book on-line (eng).
The link, if it works is http://www.thairailwayticket.com/Default.aspx?language=1

air asia if booked early.

I use the information I get each month from the agent, photocopy of at least three months statements giving the rent paid by the tenant.

I'm getting prices of between 95 and 300 Baht a bag for the tile glue and coverage of between 1 and 3 sq m a bag.
Is there a big difference between the bottom and top priced tile glues? Previously used a glue at 160 (now 180) Baht a bag but as I want to tile 80sq m the saving of 5,000 Baht is encouraging!
And how much glue should the workmen use?
PS to keep on topic I've tiled on tiles and provided you do not mind the increase in floor height it works very well. Removing existing tiles is noisy, expensive and a pain. In addition you might find that they are laid on cement so either you remove 2" of cement, again very noisy and more expense, and then you have to build up the floor or put the tile glue on top of the cement and you still get an increase in floor height. Maybe only 3mm but enough for every door to jam.

The 3 baht will be the late payment penalty.

I was just looking at Google earth and found a very strange bridge in Bangkok - at location 13°40'8.29"N, 100°32'18.62"E
Has anyone tried to use it yet or is it incomplete? Maybe waiting for the next earthquake to shift it a bit?
(Just copy and paste the location into google earth search box - I don't know how to link to the program - sorry!)

As a PS if a house is repossessed in the UK the tenant is thrown out - the tenancy does not continue. Get a month or so but that is all.

My knowledge of Bangkok is limited but isn't Sukhumvit road a bit of a walk from the station?
-
Arriving in Bangkok on the overnight train from Chiang Mai.
Is there any recommendation (within walking distance of the station) to get a buffet breakfast or an early buffet lunch at a reasonable price?
-
Use Rice bran oil all the time, I find it excellent.
Am going to rush to Big C if the price is 88 Baht for 1.9 litre - everywhere else is nearer 90 Baht a litre.
-
I pay 490 Baht for the 2meg service - I thought the new 4meg service was 590 Baht?
Or am I wrong again?
Hope so then I can rush down to TOT.

Train - 2nd class A/C is fine for most people.
Food is expensive, take your own food and drink.
Book early to be sure of being together and getting an up and down berth - internet booking is working (2nd class only). Choose the Thai option and then you get the internet booking with English option.
Don't ask why you can't get to it from the English pages! If you have to ask questions like that then you'd be better flying.
Price is about 800 baht, for that you get a bed for the night as well as the transport.

personally I like large tiles with very little grout line.
But it so much depends on your taste, size & shape of room etc

Any chance of reviving the posting that gave a recommendation as to the best seats to book between BKK and Butterworth? I want to make a booking tomorrow.
Thanks.

Oops, thought Soi 15 was Khun Churn, of course maybe it is as well.
You did the same as me, except I can now recognise the sign. I assume you can as well?
