  1. That plot was posted about a long while ago, it's around 20 rai & eventually it was/is going to be turned in something.

Traffic on Thappraya & Jomtien will be a proper nightmare not forgetting that the market on 2nd rd (Rompo?) is evicting everyone in March 2019 as their leases are up & it is supposedly also being redeveloped.

  2. A friend of mine went to a well known hospital in the middle of Pattaya with chest pains.

They ran tests & he was told that he had had a heart attack & needed stents immediately quoting him a price.

He flew straight back to the UK & directly to A&E.

They ran a battery of tests & found no evidence of any heart attack but he did have a chest infection.

That said my child is under the care of a world renown Thai doctor who also worked in John Hopkins & Great Ormond St hospitals.

He mostly teaches now in a university hospital in Bangkok.

After my experience, my wife and I agreed that, in future, we would park at Central Marina and hop on a baht bus to T21.

This is exactly what I did with my crew & boy was I please when I saw the traffic jams trying to get in.

" (Sinbin owners) couldn't afford it anymore".

The big question to that is surely what they could no longer afford. Has the size of brown envelope increased??

From what I've been told the owners are a Bangkok chinese thai family who own half the block.

I doubt that they are losing sleep.

  5. If you're approached by a LB then put your hands in your pocket.

There's a good chance that he will go for you 'middle' pocket but just smile & say no thank you then walk on.

Some are honest LBs but some work in groups & wait for you to protect your inside wicket at which time someone will dip your pockets & run off into the night.

Also they are checking to see what your little fella is saying as you might be saying 'no' but your little fella has just piped up & said yes.

  6. They did very good firework displays before the king died.

It's a matter of planning how to get into town as it get's busy with traffic.

Pattaya Beer Garden could be a great location but you'd need to stake your early doors I reckon.

A lot of the big hotels want a 2 night min stay & impose a compulsory dinner/dance (buffet) for NYE at lumpy prices (obviously you don't have to attend but you will have to pay for it all the same)

  8. I love Lisbon & the people are very friendly.

20 odd years ago Cais do Sodré was the red light area with short time rooms above the bars that lined both sides of the street.

Avenue Republica had hundreds upon hundreds of street walkers as did the small side streets.

All cleaned up now but still a great place to visit.

I wonder if Pattaya will go the same way as that or Pigalle in Paris, Reeperbahn In Hamburg, Soho & Shepherd's Market in London or 42nd St/Times Sq in Manhattan.

I don't doubt that there are still plenty of people still engaged in the oldest profession in the world in those places, it's just gone digital & off the streets.

I do miss the old Pattayaland where you would hear the bells ring out throughout the evening from various bars followed by the shrieks from the girls.
