  1. I appreciate the time to respond! I didn't mention anything about Ratanakorn market, not sure where that is? I had a sidecart for five years obtained from my Thai son friend I thought it was great to do handyman stuff in the local area. Looking like a Thai within the five I never got stopped, today it would be like 1% chance on the Darkside one would even if they are making a stink about helmets today. I also obtained a electric two wheel scooter sold to me for 500 baht, but I wouldn't use it for nights, lights are very limited which is my concern. The larger 3 or 4 wheels all seem to be limited for nights and I don't think they are even legal, I don't see any of them with plates. Reason if I can find a shop price is right I rather convert my PCX to a 3 wheel, I would go as far as getting a handicap sign placed on it, put a box in the back. Sometime ago, I saw a guy in immigration pull up in one really nicely done, with lights front and back extra, he had a box, custom holders from his two arm canes. If it goes unregister, I'm not too concern especially with police.
  2. Reading it wrong? Not legal if modified, so why it can be register for first 5 years before it becomes not roadworthy? I would like to do the right thing but Thailand being Thailand and Pattaya being Pattaya? I have a 13 year old PCX 150, it has well maintained and kept up with me a number of times taking all the panels off and repainting the bike myself the KM range over 150,000. As the bike has gotten older so have I, although I have a number of vehicles I've found riding around in a scooter is by far less stressful when dealing with the self created traffic bottlenecks in town. But as the bike gotten older so have I, regardless of my training I'm thinking of modifying the bike for my own safety so that being the priority here in Pattaya, slim and none check points and once owning a sidecart for year which I thought was great if I can find a shop and have it done right I will do regardless if it is legal or not. If I can register it great if not I'm not losing sleep over it. Cost might also be a factor I've also been checking out the larger electric one's selling with longer charging range 3 and 4 wheels, even the ones that look like cars although I'm fit and alert family is starting to question the safety of me coming and going all over Pattaya on the scooter?
  3. Idle minds of Thai leaders is a Devils workshop!🤣
  4. Thanks for the replies, I see many Farangs nicely done conversion looks like if they have brought them new which when I google there are many but I've not seen them sold here in Pattaya. I never did but next time I see a person will stop and ask them that seem to be the best way. I also google saw a advertising sign Ozimoto but there isn't one in Pattaya as far as I know. As for legal or not, I believe the shop in Theppasit moved due to losing the location since the Go Cart opened up at that location. Behind the Big C, on Klang, lives a community of handicap Father Ray foundation that member possess modified scooter. I'm not too concern whether they are legal or not they are a reality here like sidecart which I had one, can't register unless you take the cart off which I did when I owned one.
  5. In Pattaya area, years ago I noticed a number of shops one down on Theppasit another on Sukhumvit near Pattaya Klang that modify scooters rear axle to two wheels, fender etc.. when I look now they are gone! Anyone can help as to locations of shop who does such modification. Second, are they legal and can one still register the scooter normally year? Thanks.
  6. My question is who were they preparing for?🤔
  7. Give him some credit! Maybe that was his intent to get caught he only had so many bills to do such a thing with marked bills then make a scene. Looks at it like this he was married to a Thai, milking him like a ATM, going broke, no way to even get home too scare to tell her he wants out. Thought process he figure why not the way they hand out sentences here he will admit guilt have him behind slapped. No money thereafter US taxpayer foot the flight home the way Immigration is being prosecuted and contested the resources he isn't really a counterfeiters who passed cartoon notes from the movies. Gangs killers are getting a free ride what is he going to get🤣🤔
  8. I am well aware of it since I converse and clarify to you before about the time frame of the bank letter. And yes again I'm well aware that the ops is talking CW, but in general daily hourly every topic that is written members will get off topic, give your testy replies suggest members need to read, comprehend, stay in the line of discussion. 🤣 Since you are responding let me ask this question which is something I noted and the reason I responded in the first place. As there are 75 Immigration office some have millions, billions if not trillions of things to do and interpretation is different more so than other. As for the appointment system not relevant I didn't bring it up. As for 10 minutes remark I don't use the appointment system I just get myself up early enough so I'm first or so in line when my Q is called I have every duck in line just say it is a mental game I do to entertain myself what they might pull out of their butts this year. Plus as a student of body language, facial expression I try to figure what is next. But once Q is called it is interesting they flip through all the pages highlighting certain things over again to impress but regarding in the end pay my money given a pickup number out the door 10 minutes. When it comes to the 800,000 bank method, CW requires a yearly (12) bank statement monthly deposit as if one doesn't have 800,000 in place plus a letter stating confirming the account and amount of 800,000. I'm I correct?
  9. I used the word today anal it seems it has affected people like COVID? I never said or noted it to be a fact that a book had to be updated! I should note to you which I got as a response " Not relevant " But since you so boldly noted, and I got it here long ago because you never know with 75 plus offices, zillion things what is going to be required and I read long ago at time some offices requires it so to be anal I cover it all. So I don't have to run back out and do it.
  10. In all due respect, you seem a bit on edge! As a poster I wanted to add, when I did I clearly stated JOMTIEN! I fully understand that each office is different and that god I don't need to do it at CW Anal immigration. Maybe this is also different? I'm no expert that is you but I did get the ops was doing it at CW, I've not seen prior replies to this subject that if like the ops doing the option of 800,000 baht method that a yearly bank statement must be obtain if so from CW even more reason I'm glad I don't live in Bangkok, regardless of the benefits. Yearly bank statements here in Jomtien are for those who don't want to keep 800,000 in placed basically locked in, so they do the monthly deposit of 65,000 baht a month? I did not expect my comment to be relevant or not relevant to him. As noted, I've been doing this for 15 plus years again acknowledge not CW, I go to my BB bank, usually at 3 pm or later, deposit a 1000 baht have my book updated, thereafter then I hand the teller a 100 baht and as them for the letter for immigration. Next morning! I don't use the appointment I get up at 5am each morning regardless, I head down to Immigration being somewhat anal, I get there about 7:30 pm, 1st or 5th, in line, get to the information start desk, get a number, once I am called, my package docs are all in place hand it to the guy, he runs through it, 10 mins tops last 5 years, given a number to pick up I'm out the door,🤣
  11. It is what it is today! As long as the guy doesn't smell, rude, and taking up my space seat it is what it is!🤣 I'm retired in a good space mentally as long as they don't F with me I'm all good! 🤣
  12. From my own experience of course this is from Pattaya/Jomtien immigration only last 15 plus years. YOU MENTIONED YOU ARE DOING THE 800,000 BAHT METHOD! CORRECT? MONEY IS IN PLACED BOOKED SOLELY IN YOUR NAME AND UNTOUCHED! Each year I also use this method, I walk into BB, make a deposit of 1000 baht to update my book, once I'm handed back the book I let the teller know I need a verification letter (100baht) for immigration. Ten minutes later I'm out the door. What I've added to my package for yearly Immigration renewal is I xerox each page of my bank book account holder name and every single page that applies placed them right behind the letter, which I get the day before. When I do my extension, I get there early so early I'm usually first or second, once my number is called, Ten minutes I'm out the door. 🤣
  13. If they ever took an independent look a break from doing nothing grandstanding on issue while enriching themselves would quickly see they are dreamers.
  14. Funny, I've not had any problems although it has been years with BB or my other bank joint with wife Krungsiri. I gave them my pasport, retirement extension, residential letter, US. Tax reporting form sign account opened.
  15. I think you got it wrong a bit! The crackdown comes from and they don't want to say it! I don't know in Bangkok, but what I do know at the branch here in Pattaya BB, one of the branches I have a account and it is a very small one but it was packed with Chinese National with Thai agents helping from the moment they opened 10am until they closed 5pm, Mon-Fri. Recently in the news and I was there the day the police raided the bank sitting waiting for my Q. I don't speak Mandarin 100% but as an Chinese American born and raised with many family members still in HK and mainland China, I listen, watch majority very young not retirement age, how some of them dress and handle themselves for me my experience some were Triads. These accounts were being opened basically to laundry money. At this branch it had been going on for some time it was rocket science as to why they were there.
  16. Glad to see a incident with a American I thought the Brits had over run the place!🤣🤣
  17. I've got nothing against helmet something is better than nothing but I guess focusing on helmets is easier than BIB learning the rules of the road and it's proper execution. Give it a week then back to normal I wonder the fuss each year around the same time is when WHO provides millions by now over 20 million USD a year to help fit the programs but nothing changes. Maybe they should rethink instead of more improve or less for nothing improves.🤔
  18. These reports! Concern citizen another freelancer local, the numbers outnumber Thai. What ever happen to capitalism competition!🤣
  19. Police refuse to intervene because it was due to prositution! Maybe Soi 9 is still reeling from the big show and tell raid they did the other night!🤣
  20. I have seen many such accident in my years of living and driving here 20 years. Police reasoning is why the driving in this country the way it is and a major reason it has to be change first and foremost train the police force as to what their current motor vehicle code suppose to be and enforce it. Based on what I see, surprise both are wearing 29 baht rain gear and helmet. As we can see it was raining. The girl although not license therefore in theory shouldn't by even Thai law suppose to be on the road and if not this particular accident wouldn't have happened.🤣 To her credit she did stop and proceed at the horizontal line which is the same as a stop sign, Stop and proceed with caution. The other rider didn't seem to be going beyond the speed limit which on this road I guess would be 40-50, because of rain in the west we are educated slow down and use caution 🤣 but not here. I've seen many of these types of accident! The biker that went down by law had the right away but watching the footage and counting she had plenty of time to slow down and avoid but like many I've seen but condition to demand the right away to the point as if they intentionally want to hit the object as this video shows. Most likely was never trained to look seconds ahead instead raining too was looking down this is the habit of Thai drivers. Regardless, like always the police has no clue never been trained explain things the same way they themselves drive. Regardless of the girl not looking forward enough the other driver had no license therefore should not have been on the road. The police explanation are nonsense and I've been in situation for others that have challenge their explanation as to why particular a farang should pay for the accidents. I've heard reason that are far far laughable at best, like you would feel better if you pay since you have the money and they don't. I once told the police I would feel better if I could just slap you and your job is to enforce the Thai law not make up this is Thailand nonsense. In the end of this particular case with a friend said next time you want us to come down to your station I will bring lawyers with us, case closed never heard from them again but at the same time can't get <deleted> out of an empty <deleted>ter my buddy insurance had to cover the damage for his vehicle. This case is clear for me at least!
  21. It was in fact the branch as noted by me how do I know I was I was holding a cue to withdraw some cash to give my wife to buy a piece of land in her village money not from laundrying LOL when all hell went! I thought the bank was being robbed got myself in position to open a can of whip ass🤣
  22. This is BB located on Sukhumvit just before Pattaya Klang. It is a small branch located just opposite of Num Chai Appliance. This is one of my branches a small branch being Asian and familiar with the language Mandarin a year now doing business there. The place was packed with Chinese Nationals with Thai agent at 10am. There were Chinese stack outside the door it wasn't rocket science what was going on. I needed a new bank book if you didn't want to wait hours get there at 9:30 am, March I went and try to open another account for a family friend for his Visa extension legally 3 hour wait told. Another branch told me residential certification was no longer used and for my friend needed a note from his doctor? Another branch had no clue what a residential certificate was but can open only a CD account. Things are all screwed up nevertheless there are lots of Chinese living on the Darkside tons! These are special Visa for the Chinese Triads 😂
  23. So typical of course official got rich off of these ill fate projects which seems to be common all the time and no one ever gets arrested for it reason there are so many elections those running want a piece free money run for office!
  24. You are right there should and I believe there is because I have a family member nearby, the project language doesn't allow for these types of dogs. Owners or renter only have these small poodles bit larger than cats. Whoever is running this project should also be charged for allowing it and not addressing the problem. Legally contact the owner he has 24 hours to remove them if not they are taken away by force so is his property put up for sale. My first reaction when I heard said load up they come into your culdasac, one shot to each their heads that includes the owner.
