Suggestions for a new, not to expensive, laptop for retiree.
thailand49 replied to khaepmu's topic in IT and Computers
Very helpful! Im in that category my 2016 HP 19inch is on the last leg. Recently had to replace the hard drive here in Pattaya. While it was being worked on I stepped into Tukcom to look, Im kind of set on a Dell, 14 inch price was like 14,000 another upgrade I forget 12-16 gig also more memory for another thousand baht? This Feb back in States I went to Best buy nothing too pricey some stores dont stock have to order then you need to buy a membership for like 250USD crazy. I figure with not having to pay sales tax 9% here I could spend up to 20,000 baht with favorable exchange rate I could get a better printer too. At the airport going through security TSA girl joked pops whstvyou got there a T.V. -

Pattaya Klang → Bangkok Mochit Bus Terminal. Good way to get to DMK?
thailand49 replied to GypsyT's topic in Pattaya
Up from Foodland same side just pass a dental office called Dental Idea? You see one or two mini buses parked outside or a white Van stripes on bottom you see them running up and down Sukhumvit to Bangkok. I believe the office or offices looks liked two opened at times with a few people waiting. Too late now but depends on when going I might be able to go by tomorrow and double check. I remember my brother mention 200-250 baht. It travel down Sukhumvit-Chon Buri- Bangkok, I last use them near end of Covid to Ekamai it was 130 baht. They do stop to pickup, dropoff even wait a few minutes during the trip said it took 2.5 hour. -

What does being a cop have to do with anything. Here is your problem the objective is to pass the test get the answer they want not what ypu think or how it should be. To pass get it out of your head you arent that important no one is messing with you. You think because you were a cop your answer is the right one look around figure out where you are you are a nobody don't control anything you dont hold the cards any longer they are holding your balls! Their test question has very little to do with the proper way to drive. Ive got 35 years with the Transportation Dept so I know a thing or two about driving. You should have gotten an Int permit show it to them and a written test would not have been required.

Visa-free entry for Chinese nationals has many consequences
thailand49 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ive read that a number of months back even about Pattaya but yet they keep doung everything possible to bring them in. I remember after that article the hotel association complaining not enough business? Here is the problem my comment isnt about tourist! Tourist dont buy homes, send their kids to school, go to Tops and but thousands of baht of groceries nor tourist go Home Pro to buy furniture, appliances, or open bank accounts! I know Triads been here a long time and how they go about things to stay but young families as if they are escaping China, relocating permenent too young to retired all within working age. So where is all the money coming are they working. -

How is it possible! Slow got to repost a thread that started 2021 with 87 pages! Rules and things that never work the way it suppose? I read somewhere early this year they upgraded the system linked 90 days with TM30, last year I left the country return report date reset when time I logged on and TM47, day later it got accepted. This year 2024, left in Feb, returned time to report went online it was rejected first time with explanation when return first time must do in person.

In my twenty years here Ive never seen so many and they arent tourist. In Pattaya, talking the darkside I run into lots of families that are living here purchased homes using agents to set up companies, kids go to schools my granddaughter attends that receive heavy funds from Chinese government, I see them at Tops super market, Home Pro, majority are much too young to be retired so wherecare funds coming. A few weeks ago I needed a new ATM card. The waiting area was packed with Chinese couples Thai agents opening bank accounts. -

This goes on day in day out! But as soon as it hits media they are are outrage! Thais in general live in the darkness of denial especially the males who show how small their brains are one wrong word they are breathing, walking time bombs! -
Real Americans what is that? Free Market dont these companies have a free choice to be friends who think alike and have a right to support or not. I know guys living in Pattaya who dont like a group of bar owners and on nights out boycott these bars.
