(Transfer) WISE problems....
Raindancer replied to pgrahmm's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Just to add my 2 cents. I use my Thai phone number and it works every time. Not disputing other comments on here, but don't understand why some people are using phone numbers from their home country. Perhaps they might be able to go into settings and profile, and change phone numbers. -

Ouch! Seems unfair compared to uk sterling to Thai baht. -
(Transfer) WISE problems....

Don't know where you get those figures from. And it all depends on the amount you are sending. If I send £1000 to my Thai bank through wise, using online banking to send money from my UK bank to wise, it costs me around £5.00 by wise to move the money to Thailand. -

Correction: it is also more expensive when using debit or credit cards, than the banking online transfer system. -

Don't use a credit card. Do a manual bank transfer (online). It is also more expensive than using debit or credit cards. Your bank will charge you for using these methods, as opposed to transferring money to wise by the manual method online banking transfer. The only time I receive an OTP is when I log onto my computer to use wise, as opposed to my usual method of using my phone. Nb: it is standard practice for credit card companies to sometimes send the cc holder an OTP to verify the payment. -
@Yellowtail Tescos have 1 litre bottles from Carplan....forget the price but around 90 to 100 baht, if memory serves me right.

Yep....last time I went. But that was in April. May have been taken down by now. I am sure any CM members who have uptodate info, will advise. A few years ago or more the Male Front desk Sgt with the Mike, showed us all the new plasticised card about 4x6 with Tm 30 instructions.....if you leave your home and travel to another city anywhere in Thailand, and even within your province for any reason for ANY period of time, you must report to the city/Town main police office. And when you return to Chiang Mai City you must complete TM 30 within 24 hours....blah blah blah. Absolute nonsense that I'm sure no one bothered with. Fancy travelling for 20 kms or so for a day out and going through all that!!

Is this a recent change? I thought that when they renew your yearly extension and observe a new reentry stamp supported by a new TM6, they would ask why you never renewed your existing TM30 within 24 hours of returning to Thailand. Because the TM 30 you then produce at your next yearly extension renewal prior to your outward/ inward journey would be out of date.

As far as I am aware. No one thinks you are lying, and definitely not me. I merely explained my situation. -

Raindancer replied to Jorje's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I believe it is London according to my account and their sort code. But I might be wrong. I live in Thailand and signed up here. @ Blorg. Thank you. That explains it. The address on my account is registered here in Thailand. But, it's no hardship, I still have my UK Mastercard, which I obtained many many years ago. -
Bangkok Bank card, cannot pay online
Raindancer replied to Jorje's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Here is the info from the help page regarding virtual card. I cannot apply because I do not already have a physical credit card as I live in Thailand. They do not issue physical credit cards to Thailand. I am on the list as and when they authorise Thailand. But thank you for your link. -

Well said. Let's deal with the problem when and IF it transpires. Too many rumours that disturb a peaceful mind. Relax and enjoy each day.- 371 replies

Khun Song. Tel: 062 8822 565. He repaired the auto ice maker in my fridge. And recently replaced the thermostat in my oven. Might be worth a try! Very nice guy and extremely professional. And not expensive.
