The round disc like jellys have been getting beached here during the wet season for a very long time, the lifeguard must be either, new, blind or or due to currents they just don't get them up there?
Have seen, Nai Harn, both Kata's and Karon shore lines covered in them at different times during previous wet seasons, have paddled through and surfed in the water with them and never been stung by that species.

Surely the advice on what is best for an individual is down to a doctor following a consultation, not some random bloke on the internet.
There are many variables and some things are suitable for some people, others for others.
Just because it was right for you doesn't make it right for others, despite your extended comment above.
Of course there would have to be a consultation, pretty bloody obvious to anyone, but hearing of others experiences/ideas is also very good, I'd never heard of the procedure until KB had posted it.
It's what a forums all about.

Don't bother with LASIK, it's meant for younger people that have an astigmatism.
If you are over 45 years old and your near vision is age related, then you need Lens Replacement.
I had it done for both eyes and my vision is now as good as when I was a teenager and it's permanent. Best money I've ever spent.
Where'd you get that done?
Just read the attached article and it sounds like exactly what I need.
Which type of lens did you get and how long was your recovery time?

First episode of Westworld will be shown on 2nd October.
A TV series inspired by the 1973 movie of the same name starring Yul Brynner. One of the best sci-fy movies ever.
The TV series has some real heavy-weight actors. Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris for a start.
Just DLing from PB

Merely pointing out that they do not directly derive their income from the sex trade, or from a monthly "donation" from a foreigner. Something not uncommon in Thailand.
Get into the real world for 5 seconds.
Your a sad bloke.

I spoke to a regular Thai couple recently. Nice people. They do not move in circles around the sex trade here.
Why would you even need to write something like that?
GTF out of Patong for 5 seconds.

I could be wrong but I don't think they attach spurs to the birds here as they do in the Philippines, but not 100% on that.

Care to explain how friendly family dogs are a problem on the beach when there's already a ton of vicious soi dogs roaming close to children and snapping at people with food?
Should we also leash up children to make antisocial weirdos people feel more secure and comfortable in public?
Same, my dog loves the beach, kids generally end up playing in the water with him.
Cant understand the morons who get all offended at not having the beach to themselves, they'ed be better moving back to the perfect place they came from.

Are you in Phuket?
There's literally markets everywhere.

You've got an Fn good memory then!
-
Maybe best to go to one of the thousands of markets and speak to a seller?

Just to make things interesting, the PMOW is not even a jellyfish. Jellyfish are a single organism.
The PMOW is actually a colony of different types of single-celled animals that have become specialized.
It's known as a Siphonophore.
Google?

Went for a surf in the morning at Nai Harn yesterday and a swim at the same in the arvo, luck of the draw really, you'd be very unlucky to get stung but you never know!
-
Watching "Nighty Night" season 1 and 2 again, dark very funny Brit comedy.
Also "Reno 911" again, very funny stuff.

A blue bottles the same as a PMOW

I was under the impression that the x-ray schlog referred to was meant for departures. But maybe I misread it.
If they're now going to start x-raying incoming luggage as well it's going to cause almighty queues for arriving passengers especially if you've just spent 13 hours in sardine class and just want to get to a hotel or home a.s.a.p. te get some proper shuteye.
Are they going to the same at Swampy?
Got home a few days ago, came through the new terminal and wasn't x-rayed, didn't see anyone else getting it done either.

Had a nice feed at Hogfathers last night, 3 meals(2 x pulled pork, 1 x ribs), 2 beers (Heinys) and a bottle of water baht1020 the lot, decent sized feed and nice location.
If your a local and plan on going get there soon, it's the best time as there was a good breeze all night and the tables are outdoors.
Visitor time of year coming up soon so will add it to the places to take people.
