Netanyahu rejects claims accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza
Neeranam replied to CharlieH's topic in The War in Israel
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. The evidence is very strong against Netanyahu; I was ridiculed when I suggested Genocide 2/3 month ago, but now most of the world, bar Israel, and Jewish Americans believe it is going on - even the President of the US said there was 'indiscriminate bombing'. Even the US Secretary of State has said too many civilians(of whom are mostly women and children) are being killed. And these are the guys responsible for giving the weapons to Israel, all the $$ and stopping a ceasefire! Yet, hardline Israel supporters will never admit this is going on, despite all the evidence. The latest the Israeli president subject to criminal complaints. https://www.reuters.com/world/switzerland-says-israeli-president-subject-criminal-complaints-davos-2024-01-19/ -
Must Read Thailand starts checking foreigners' passports on domestic flights
Neeranam replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It was in Dec 2020, may have changed. They probably noticed there were no foreigners in the flight so only gave Thai. Then she freaked out when seeing me and remembered that the law said they must give in English to foreigners. -

I'm often asked for my passport after giving my Thai ID card, as I'm a farang. Last week the bank asked me for my work permit. There are silly, racist people out there that just can't figure out how a white person could be Thai. Last year, a golf club refused me discount, saying my face wasn't the same as his. -

Some of the easiest in the world! Sadly, agents who bribe IOs to bypass immigration requirements are making things harder than they should be. -

I work as a translator. On the back of the card it says - Code of conduct for ID card holders 1. This card is not an identification card. 2. Carry this card with you at all times for inspection. 3. The person named on the card is prohibited from leaving the card issuing area. Except for those who have an alien identification card or Person who has received written permission -

A few years ago, I flew Air Asia and showed my newly minted Thai ID card to board. I was the only white guy and after the safety procedure talk, the hostess came up to me and started saying it in English. I said I had already heard it and she said by law she had to repeat it in English as I was a foreigner. She was very embarrassed when I whipped out my ID card. Maybe she just wanted to speak to me but first I've ever heard about such a law. -

I thought to travel your name must be in English letters. All aliens should have a certificate by law, but this is not enforced for farang. To much work for the amphur staff. Some bright spark thought to introduce the migrant labourer card for farang but forgot to erase the back writing. No wonder staff are confused when a farang shows one of these cards. -

Not really, these pink cards are really for migrant workers, who can travel domestically only if they have written authorisation from local amphur. Actually, the non thai card says on the back that you can't travel to other provinces. It is bizarre how some think they have elevated their status in Thailand with this card which actually is the opposite. Thai ID has a readable chip in it. -

I just went to the ATM to check an old BKK Bank account, as I don't have online banking with it - and it's there. Phew. -
Yes, there are structural engineers who can check the house out.

My point is that this sounds like the best was to avoid tax, not evade it, so we should find out the Thai RD position on it. I'm not sure if you mean a 'tax dodge' is avoidance or evasion, with one being legal the other not. Personally, I don't think the RD will go after foreigners, unless they are bringing in $1 million + yearly.
-
From my perspective, this is the most important number in your list, but also the shortest. Most foreigners will NOT have to pay any tax. I have to pay tax as I work for a German company - I believe I can avoid paying tax by gifting my salary to my Thai relatives, including unworking wife/ mother-in-law, children. If we can gift 20 million a year, then it is Hunky Dory.
