  1. I've used Fascino for the past year.....They offer this card for discounts & some are as high as 40%+.....There are several locations in CM....I use the one by Hang Dong market on 108.....

They will order on request as needed.....

There is a great pharmacy close to the iron bridge in a teak building....They carry about everything & the pharmacist is very knowledgeable.....It was the best I had found....

    However....

Once I found Fascino it eliminated the need to go all the way into town from SPT.....

  2. I just get sms queries = block list....

We have Line & it seems every other week somebody tags along but never further contact....

    Blocking is an easy remedy.....

It's not crazy here like it was in the US.....I had a very long blocking list for unwanted solicitation calls.... Unfortunately, companies had unlimited numbers to fire away with....

    It's a lot simpler here.....If not waiting for a delivery & it's not a number I've grouped in a category = it goes unanswered ...

The sms's have been on an uptick recently ....

  3. Covid has stopped it now....

When I played in a sports league here I'd follow up the next day with a Thai massage 1-2 hours....

Then the day after get a 2 or 3 hour oil massage to soothe out all the left over kinks, joint, muscle soreness.....

It was always a good routine/remedy.... Occasionally, one more relaxing massage during the week if so inclined & nothing else to do.....

  4. I took up intermittent fasting and bought a home gym to work out on = lost 18-20 kilos.....

Ride a bicycle a few klicks on a route every day while feeding, watering, curry combing & paying attention to a few nice/friendly & well behaved dogs in our Mubaan who's people seem to have moved away, leaving them behind.....It makes them (and me) happy....

At 6'4"/195cm & large framed, I wasn't pot bellied before, however, it feels much better with the weight off.... I'm around 95-98 kilos now.....

I eat about anything I want, so, it seems to be working + holding....

  5. Our oblong table unextended sits 6 (12+ if extended)....We have found tablecloths that fit the 6 position table, but nothing longer.....

One option might be to double up....Another nicer possibilty is go to a material shop at your nearest large market & pick your material and have it cut then hemmed to your measurements.....

A market like the Worowat market in CM has several shops with 100s of bolts to choose from.....

I was gone from US for 2 yrs solid because of covid, when I returned late last year for a visit I was quite shocked to see tent cities all over. On ramps, off ramps, for fork sake.

Two years ago on our vacation to the US my wife spotted a tent city while rolling through Sacramento....

She said "look at all the campers"....I didn't correct her.....

We're looking toward an August return for 4-6 months.... I'm not sure what to expect - but, it can't have gotten better.....

Thunderous storms are great for beer drinking, love it. Rayong province has been getting some good rain and thunder (buddha talking)

    Thanks for the memory.....

When I lived in the Sierras, storms used to roll through.....Rain, thunder/lightning, & snow storms......

I had a small extended out front porch with 4ft walls/open upper half..... Just enough room to keep it toasty while stoking up the Weber bbq with a couple of chairs and a couple of cold ones, cooking & watching while the fury of the storms raged around me creating great theatrics and an unmatched symphony.....

Loved it there - until the divorce swept it all away.....

  8. FB Market place has furniture although not the same as seeing, touching, feeling.....We dropped by BT  about 3 months ago = 90%+ closed + the furniture places that were open were overpriced... Going for the big kill due to low visitor count.....

The Teak wardrobes I saw there were double to three times the cost of what I bought over FBM.

  9. We're in San PaTong....We have an open well + a small decorative, stilled water, rock pond with a seldom used fountain right by our bedroom bay window (as does our closest Mubaan neighbor)....

I've been telling the wife mosquito, mosquito, mosquito warnings....

Result? We don't have hardly any - don't know why....

  10. Slept right through it ..... Vaguely remember hearing some loud boomers....

Got up & saw we got a good drenching.....

Asked the wife - she slept right through until 8:00 (usually an early riser) & she didn't hear anything either....

    San PaTong area....

    Update:

Just started a hard rain since I started this comment....

  11. Check out Expat Auto, CM....They specialize & certify the vehicles they sell....

Many originated from vehicles owned by expats that have moved away or don't want the hassle of reselling on their own....

I've never read/heard a bad thing said about them.....They also will inspect for you if you find one you would like inspected as part of the prepurchase.....

They can also handle the paperwork for you.....

Cal Tex stations often have a wash. They do my pickup for 120 Baht.  Not a detail job but a good wash and vac.

He's right, the CalTex on Mahidol Rd has a car wash that has been good when I've used it.....

It's about 600?M away from Airport Plaza going away from the airport....You can Google map it to pinpoint.....

  13. We've had 3BB for over 10 years.... I'm not sure about any ceiling for wifi use.... We've had up to 6 users + a Smart TV in use with no loss in efficiency....

They have always been fast & responsive if there was a problem = 3 times after a big storm.....Our bill is about the same per month as yours....We are in a house though, so not sure if condo services are different....

It was the first long term contract I signed in TH & I believe I had to prepay either for the 1st year, or first 6 months initially....

We've found it to be very good + dependable.....

A 2000L tank is large enough to last you 7-10 days of normal usage, you might be able to use a 1000L tank.

As for pumps and a 2 story home, I'd go with this Mitsubishi EP205/200w or a 255/250w, anything less and your pressure could be low.

We went with the Mits pump + I upsized it one size above recommended... Mitsubishi pumps are not as quiet as the other top brand but are built better from our research....

We opted for a DOS 1000L tank....

There are times I wish I'd jumped up to 1500 or 2000 liter....

We are a single level 3 bed/2bath house with 2 to 4 of us depending on school schedules.....

This system has met all needs EXCEPT when the muni water supply is stopped without forewarning & then the 1000L can empty quickly with 4 people using showers, washing machine, etc ... That's why I wished we'd gone bigger on the tank size....

If you have a large garden with daily watering take that into consideration.....

My wife drained most of the tank one time watering not realizing the muni supply had been shut down for maintenance (we do have a well & submersible pump for the garden but that pump failed & another was on order).....But that made me aware of how much was used for the gardening.....

Edit - no idea why it decided to go bold....
