    If having kids is more fun than a good movie why do people need to pay for a baby sitter? Cinemas don't need to pay people to watch their movie.

    Why would anyone married and can afford a good life in the USA move to Thailand? America is the most blessed continent on the planet that is still not over populated and not completely environmentally plundered.

    It's not a matter of best country. Working? Probably west. Retired? Probably Thailand. Single? Thailand. Female? West. And so on.

    Bangkok is just about one of the great capital cities of the world at a 50% off sale price. Chiang mai is a typical second city with a small city cost of living. Pattaya is a typical small city by the sea at a very cheap price with the bonus of cheap women. They all have the magic of Thailand as well as it's frustrations.

    I believe that the beer was actually something like 0.5,% in those days. Hardly the same thing at all.

    I was on a local bus that was held up by a thug. I was also pickpocketed by kids. I also had to give a crazy guy small money to avoid nastiness. None of these things happened to me elsewhere

    Nice post. Just curious, presuming your not a George Clooney type what age do you think the game is over for the attractive mid/late 30s type? Free I mean.

    Are there any 18 or so girls in your family that you love? You think they know what they're doing and don't need some form of protection from loving adults? If you really believe that Thais have a different concept of sex then try suggesting to your Thai work colleague that his daughter consider prostitution as a viable career move.

    We all have a duty of care to others. Laws are binary. Morality isn't. There's no significant difference between underage and 18, 19, even older. Governments get away with persuading 18 year olds to go to war, degenerates take advantage of 18 year olds lack of cognitive maturity to understand the damage they're doing to themselves.

    Far far fewer people dying from war or sickness than previous centuries. Everyone enjoying a much better standard of living. Most sustainable fertility rate mankind ever had.

    But a nurses pension is inflation linked and not shabby right? Add the state pension on top and surely you could afford that Thai lifestyle, at least the issan version of it?

    After a certain age I find it's quite difficult to choose something new rather than something familiarly good. Music, TV, food, sexual positions, topics of conversation. It's got something to do with being constantly disappointed by the the other stuff.
