I've met loads of Thai women burdened with unsustainable debt. I've seen (to be fair can't say met) loads of Thai men who seem to be debt free and focused on lazing around enjoying themselves. I've met many single moms burdened with raising a child in very difficult circumstances. Not many men. It's tricky but I'd say that for myself I'm not in debt or raising a child alone and it's because I used my "intelligence" So I'd reluctantly say the men are smarter.

Bad back prone to stiffness and spasms. I love to travel but fear a debilitating episode. What's the strongest pain killer one can buy over the counter? Actually 99% of the time it's not as bad as I fear and I struggle thru. I really don't like taking medicines. It's more the peace of mind knowing it's there if I need it.

Some people are good at saving while some are good at spending. Ironically very rare to meet a man good at both.

The old adage of financial planning of making a retirement budget for Thailand then doubling it didn't apply to me. I'm spending less than I thought. In planning I had populated the future with a larger appetite than I had. In fact the opposite was true. I needed less beer than I had planned, less Aircon, less restaurants, less dating etc Budgeted 70k a month life but only spend 50k. How about others?

Start a group based on your interest. Drink slowly when in a bar. Make your last drink non alcoholic. Choose Thai food out, maybe not healthy, but it's not junk or ultra processed.
