Sometimes the silly little gold things that you bend open and closed when wearing gold snap and you have to sell them. I just walked in not saying much and they weigh and show you price. Pretty easy really. Although I have heard hua seng heng will only buy hua seng heng branded gold.

You: "Ahh excuse me waiter, my food has a hair in it!." Waiter: "Oh no! Let me go get that sorted out for you right away!"..... ..... "Chef! There's a hair in the customers dish! Can you do another one?" Chef: "Is it your meal? Are you affected? Get out of my kitchen, this has nothing to do with you".

Why does he keep covering his hands? I noticed at least one finger bandaged the other day. Do broken fingers make the police look bad?

90 day reporting when not in the country
sikishrory replied to sikishrory's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Got it..thank you -
90 day reporting for non-b An extreme example: You need to leave the country for 2 months but you see about 5 weeks into that period a 90 day report is due. Flying home to report like a good little boy is not an option. What do you do? I read you can get a authorised representative to do it for you with copies of passport and all the documents? Thoughts and solutions welcome.

A few years ago I opened a satang pro account (while on TR visa) and put a few thousand in there. All with no issues. I did trades. Bought/sold. Deposited and maybe withdrew (don't remember). Anyway a couple of years later I ended up renewing a full passport and contacted them of my own volition to update it in there system. As you do. They said thanks and you will need to do the KYC again with the new passport. Only this time it was different. They sent through a document via google docs which was a bit more intensive than the KYC done when signing up. Notably this time it required a non-imm visa and a work permit. During initial sign up KYC this was not needed. I had a crew visa at the time and no work permit. It's not a very common visa so I sent it through anyway thinking maybe they would get confused and pass it. They didn't. This is annoying but I thought, whatever, I will just leave it all alone until one day I get a non-imm and work permit again. Now it's another couple of years later and I actually have a non-b and work permit processing at the moment. I received a call from them about a week ago. The lady mentioned I need to do KYC again. However, this time the reason is due to the change in Thailands regulations on financial institutions. They require a face scan. Much the same as the banks are rolling out. The difference is Satang want you (foreigners only) to travel to their Bangkok office to do this. For Thais it seems to me they are outsourcing the KYC to a company called NDID (national digital id). I find it ludicrous that a company would expect you to travel halfway across the country to do a face scan so you can access your money. That's exactly what I told them via email. There response was an ignorant "we do apologize if our services might not meet your expectations. However, we will continue improving our services in order to fulfill the customer's needs and desires" I just told them I will wait for them to improve. I'm not that fussed with it. It's just annoying. So this post is just a heads up to people using or thinking of using this exchange and also I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and found a solution with them.

Motorbike crash on Patong Hill leaves 2 wounded
sikishrory replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
wounded /ˈwo͞ondəd/ adjective inflicted with a wound; injured. "a wounded soldier" -
I called both scb and kasikorn a few days about this. They both said the same thing basically. Not available for foreigners yet. Scb were weird about it. It's like they ignored everything I said about face scanning for two minutes and tried to put words in my mouth "so mister you want to create an exemption in the system right". I refused this based on how keen he was on me doing it. They said they will release an update soon for the app so foreigners can do it but no idea when yet. I'm not holding my breath. They said the same thing when I called a couple of months ago. Kasikorn was much the same. As for updating passport. I updated mine at a different provinces kasikorn and scb about a year ago with no issues. Bangkok bank sucks and closed my account with them months ago. They were incredibly difficult to deal with.

Investing money for condo question.
sikishrory replied to meyori's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I just bought a condo myself. I declined the much touted rental pool program. I don't really understand why anybody would join. It seems very convoluted and you have no real idea what's going on with the money. You can't login and see where every baht is going and just have to have faith some slimy people are not ripping you off. I found a company to take care of daily rentals and can login to the system and have full control. Totally transparent and higher return. Not locked into a contract (1 month notice to get out). Can stay whenever I want, provided there is nobody booked. -
All for it. Yet they felt a lot of pain during covid. If you remember - woe is me, no farang, no job, no food. No life skills whatsoever. Did they learn anything? It was a great opportunity for them to appreciate the tourists that they rely onto survive and fix a lot of problems with the system. Yet the moment tourists returned so did stories of overcharging at the airport. Now we're back to getting attacked with iron bars.
