I've stayed in a number of condos in Thailand over the last 9 years. Due to the travel situation I've had to rent a second one in Phuket as I can't leave the province.
So this new condo brand is well known with buildings in Bangkok and Pattaya as well.
The other day a girl I've been seeing for almost two years came over.
As I greeted her downstairs security was collecting her Thai ID and giving her a "visitor" pass. This has never happened in any other condo.
I explained to security in Thai that she is my girlfriend. He simply said all visitors must do it.
I reached out to my new landlord to see his opinion.
He said "chill" saying it was good for security and also started going off on a tangent about covid.
The condo is really nice and I don't want to move but am considering it.
The day I moved in my landlord also requested my motorcycle rental contract as apparently security wanted it to issue my parking sticker.
As far as I'm concerned who I have in my private rental is nobodies business nor is my motorcycle rental contract.
Be interested to see others opinions or experiences.
Perhaps I am overreacting.
Thanks
