  1. I think if both people The man or woman for that matter decide to take in a child. Not their own is hard. My dad never dsiciplined me I mean spanked me My mother on the other hand was a different story.

I think it takes nerve and alot of compassion, You have someone's else's child at first. but the years roll along and both parent and child get to know and accept one another.

Unfortunately like SK1972 said Some men just do it because they have the "hots' for the mom. If in a relationship with a woman or a man and they have children sometime down the road you have to be willing to accept the whole package and not just concentrate on the "mother or father" :o

  2. Yes he did, Some guys in his unit did the same. One man took an orphan girl back with him. Yeah My Dad is great I wouldn't be the person I am if it wasn't for him.

Sometimes watching documentaries on the vietnam conflict, I feel bad for the men that went to fight. One place wanted to kill them and when returning home that place wanted to spit on them.

They told my dad to return home wearing civilian clothes, he didn't do it he said. he was proud of his uniform and he wasn't going to let some people get him down.

  3. My Father did it with me, I was the offspring to an american GI but my mom only had a one night thing with him She never seen him again and then she met my step dad. Who I consider my real dad.

I never wanted to find out where my real dad ended up More than likely he was killed in vietnam. My mom said he would go to udon thani for R&R, She saw him many times in the bar she worked at. He only talked to her a few times I guess she liked him alot.

I would do the same if my wife had children already. No problem here I just would like them to respect me for me I wouldn't want to replace their real father.

  4. Yesterday, I was having an interesting discussion with my girlfriend. It started out by her asking a question, something along the lines of "Why is the sky blue?" And I gave her an answer. Then she asked, "Why are farang smarter than Thais?" Comparing the American and other economies in the west to Thailand's, she was wondering if there was a genetic reason. I told her I didn't think there was anything genitic about it. So then she wanted to know why the American economy was so much more advanced than that in Thailand.

This is quite a difficult question. The reasons I came up with are "Bad government, which leads to bad education, religion and supersitions, and corruption" I'm sure everything I mention leads to a poor economy, but I still don't see how that can explain the vast difference.

Singapore is not that far away, why are they so much more economically advanced than Thailand?

The US economy has so many oppurtunities to invest money or start a business, You can also get money from the goverment to start a small business.

I'm not sure if this is more advanced but their is more Oppurtunity than Thailand, But I think Thailand is definately catching up, My wife's friend just started a real estate business in udon thani.

I don't think that could have been done just a few years ago. It just takes time The United States economy did not blossom overnight either. :o

  6. The British far outnumber their European counterparts with a staggering 365,000 Britons visiting Thailand from January to June 2004

The reason that so many Brits visit Thailand is that they don't have go-go bars in their own country. Whilst we in America have many, so don't need to travel so often. I feel sorry for the Brits because most of their girls are fat and have very bad teeth. Why do the Brits suffer with such bad teeth, is it inherited?

Yeah but Go-Go bars that you can get sex at??? I don't think there are as many in the states and if there are I would never want to go into them.

    Dj

Impressive website from the Mixtress, but don't bother if you only have dial-up!

Yeah you should hear her music if you think the website is something, I'm going to go see her in Orlando, Flroida at the house of blues

Do they have a house of blues in Thailand?? I know they have a Hardrock Cafe.

  7. I can't speak to Torn about 'that night' because I have vowed to myself not to see him again until I have my own money in my pocket, but I will say that the owner of the bar did say I was a bit silly putting a drunk man three times my size in a headlock; so in hindsight, probably not the wisest thing I've done.

Wow scamp why did u do that for?? :o

  8. The blender is a great idea ahhh don't know about a cassette player though I usually give out cash then they can go get what they want. I know it's the thought that counts but sometimes our thoughts are not theirs so the item bought usually gets brought back but that's my experience. How about a gift certificate?? :o

  9. So, the Scamp indeed is a sepo masquerading as a soap dodger

I certainly am not! I'm no yank - I'm a soapdodger and occasionally proud of it, that said, would like to meet you too because like Rod K and narachon, you seem to be one of the rare breed of tolerable, outrospective Yanks that I could listen to for more than a minute.

Hey, that's not to say all us Englishmen are perfect - most of us back home are knobs, ###### and tossers.

    Thanks a bottle, Scampy, I'm touched! :D

As for me being one of the rare breed of Tolreable, Outrospective Yank(EEE)s that you could listen to for more than a Minute, chaulk it up to being a New Yorker - being at the crossroads of the world, we are constantly exposed to new ideas and cultures far more than the average American, so much that many other Americans (i.e. Bush folk ) don't consider New York City realy part of "their" America! :o

Hey, Rod is an American? Had no idea! I always thought he was a Englishman ( I.e. Limey, Pommie, Soapdodger )...He used lot's of "Bloody's" and "<deleted>" in his postings..... :D

Hey Narachon I'm a New Yorker at heart Once a New yorker alway's a New Yorker :D
