That is correct. The natural survival instinct kicked in and the claim was later watered down to 3 consecutive months of y-o-y declining market share. On that claim you are still on green pasture, but have some tough month ahead.

Thanks to 175 EV buyers @JBChiangRai's cambit with destiny paid off and the grim reaper walks away empty handed (Last years claim: We will never see 3 consecutive months of y-o-y falling EV registrations in his lifetime). I have added the 2022 numbers, look how small they are. The EV revolution really started in 2023.

Thanks @Pib. Steep discounts do work and as EV factories start production in a falling car market, Thailand will have a significant production over capacity. I think we will see a lot more discounts from ICE manufacturers going forward. Suzuki already cut 51k off the Celerio price. Maybe @transam is in the market for an upgrade? 147 registrations in April out of 592 sales in March, we might still see some of those sales as registrations in May. The autolife February article is for EVs only, so naturally no Ciazs would be listed, since it is an ICEV.

Autolife are sales numbers, right? What matters are the registrations numbers you pull from the DLT site. With 592 Ciaz sales in March, we could see 3-400 registration in April. When are the previous month's data usually available? 2nd or 3rd day of the month?

The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand expresses its deepest condolences to the family and many friends of Colin Hastings, a longtime FCCT journalist member. Colin died suddenly on Monday afternoon in Bang Saray near Sattahip in Chonburi province when the car he was driving hit a wall. Emergency services were unable to revive him, and he was declared dead at the scene of the accident at around 3.15pm.There were no other casualties. A veteran British journalist with Fleet Street experience, Colin arrived in Bangkok in 1973, and worked on numerous publications with the Bangkok Post and at Media Transasia. He went on to become the first editor of Thailand Tatler in 1991, and in 1999 launched his own expat-focused publication, Big Chilli, which he managed to keep afloat while print media all over the world went out of business. A superb squash player, Colin was an outstanding all-round sportsman and highly clubbable. He served on the board of the British Club, and moved as easily in Thai society as he did in foreign circles. The FCCT will publish a fuller tribute to Colin in the coming days, along with details of arrangements for his funeral.
