The Baht Thread
ExpatOilWorker replied to nigelforbes's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
This it fascinating reading and the OP might have something to add as he seems to understand the subject better than most. China's influence over Thailand sure is growing, but will this also slowly erode the Thai baht's dependency on the US dollar? https://twitter.com/matthew_pines/status/1616467262256607232?s=20&t=H7N7_ycEnBr25xUL5VVQZg -

The Baht Thread

This is an excellent write up and very informative. You don't mention benchmark interest rate, but as we are coming out of the 10 year long zero interest rate period, I think exchange rates will be heavily influenced on how high different central banks set the national interest rate. -

With so many online platforms and different supermarkets it is time consuming to search for best offers. It there an app or site similar to pricerunner that offer this service? Ideally the app should allow to save items, so you get a daily alert, like today noutella is for sale at 159 baht at XY supermarket. iprice has a half working search function, but I don't see an option to save a list of products.

Nine little Soldier Boys sat up very late; One overslept himself and then there were eight. Eight little Soldier Boys travelling in Devon; One said he'd stay there and then there were seven. Seven little Soldier Boys chopping up sticks; One chopped himself in halves and then there were six. Six little Soldier Boys playing with a hive; A bumblebee stung one and then there were five. Five little Soldier Boys going in for law; One got in Chancery and then there were four. Four little Soldier Boys going out to sea; A red herring swallowed one and then there were three. Three little Soldier Boys walking in the zoo; A big bear hugged one and then there were two. Two little Soldier Boys sitting in the sun; One got frizzled up and then there was one. One little Soldier Boy left all alone; He went out and hanged himself and then there were none.

OK, I will try the below when I meet the CAT guy: https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-find-out-dns-for-router/ I have tried both http and https, both same problem.
-
The screenshot is from a previous day. The issue have been ongoing for about a month now.
-
Yes, I did unplug the router and left it without power for 10 minutes. Didn't fix the problem.
-
I will certainly try this, except I don't have a PC only mobile device. I am meeting the CAT guy, he might bring a PC and then we can try, but unfortunately not until February. Will report back.

All good advice and thanks for the link, but it does not cover network problems. They assume it is a device problem, while in my case Firefox is working perfectly fine on all other wifi, except my home router.
-
The browser issue is just part of, most likely, the same problem. More annoying os that the temperature sensor only sporadic upload data. It all worked fine up until a month ago, but then something happened.
-
-
I also thought the temperature devices was the issue, but it works perfect on a different wifi and I have used Fing to check that it does connect to the trouble wifi, it just can't send the data to the cloud.
-
Only smart phones are used, but two different iPhone had sites blocked. What specific dns settings should I change/check on the router?
-
I did try using my phone as hot-spot wifi and suddenly everything works perfect, including the temperature sensor.
-
Thanks for your reply, but no paywall. Speed test run as normal and it is a 100 Mbps connection. The fault is somewhere or something on the service provider's side. The sensor upload ever 5 seconds and use to provide a solid line, now it looks like this:
-
Certain sites will not load with Safari/Firefox, but load fine when using Chrome. We are talking total legit sites, like BBC.com and even some Thai domains. I also have a temperature sensor that upload data via wifi, but it only connects intermittently, even when located close to the router. I have contacted my service provider, but they don't seem to understand what the problem is and just say it is fixed. What could the problem be? Blocked ports? Throttled bandwidth?

I disagree with that. If the US declare Russia a terrorist state, it will have massive consequences for India who is still dealing with Russia for cheap energy. The US is doing the right thing, by training and supplying the Ukrainian military. The war is the greatest road show every with minced orc meat as the icing.
