  1. Around Jomtien Complex it is a rarity to see a farang wearing a mask , sadly. A lot of them seem to be tourists staying in hotels or such there.
  2. I arrived at 9.30 am and queued in the street before getting into the Plaza. That probably took 20 minutes. Once up the escalator I had no idea what to do. I asked 3/4 guys from City Hall and none spoke Englsih, of course!. There were 3 empty shops which had been changed into waiting rooms so I took the plunge and offered my PP and Certificate to a guy on a computer near the entrance to the shop. He looked at both and mumbled a few words ,in Thai. I suspect he registered me and then I saw a # on a lectern. So I guessed I was in the right place. The shop had about 70 chairs and seats were taken and I was told to join a queue snaking around the Plaza balcony. After a while, 1 hour, of standing and I am 82 years old I had had enough and asked if they could find me a chair-no reply. Then a lady kindly pointed out a vacancy on a settee and I gratefully accepted! Then a Lady started dishing out numbers and at 396 she ran out. On returning I was first in the queue to get a second batch number 418. So from that I implied that 417 people had entered before me. . They were emptying the shop by rows , 5 chairs per row and I eventually got a seat at the back. After endless rounds of Musical Chairs I was ushered over to the vaxing room . There BP and more paperwork and then the vaccine. There were all of 4 nurses doing the vaccinating. In in the end I walked to my car at 1pm. My previous jabs had been at the railway station and it was a breeze, suprtbly organised. Yesterday was a covid cluster in the making. Pfizer was the only option. Ge there before 9am if you want to avoid all this hassle!!
  3. At the moment Boosters are available at the Royal Garden Plaza, Pattaya. I have just had mine. Very busy. Best to get there by 9am as it soon gets VERY crowded. A Dutch guy I talked to said he had just come from the Stadium and the Plaza was better. Pfizer. I was told they were open on Thursday and Friday this week.
  4. Is there any end date for the validity of the above? A friend has just told me that his Pass allows him to enter on 16th January. Can he expect the Pass to honored-to use their words?!
  5. Yes, my friend had his earlier jabs at a hospital in Bangkok. Next question!?
  6. Earlier in the week Pfizer and, I think, Moderna were available. My friend had 2 x AZ previously and there has to be a 3 month gap after the 2nd jab.
  7. Not last in the queue. Boosters have been available all week at the Sports Center on Chaiyapruek Road. Thai and Foreigners.
  8. I believe you can also get the access code by using a UK mobile-not Thai.
  9. You have 'liked' my post but do not seem to have read it! I was not stating an opinion I was stating ' fact'. So no need for any guessing?
  10. I had this problem a few months back. I emailed HMRC and eventually was allowed to speak to a real person. I was asked who my provider was and I told them it was DTAC. After a week or so I had an email from them telling me that they had been in touch with DTAC and that DTAC were receiving the access codes but not passing them on. HMRC told me that other providers were doing the same thing. Anyway from that moment on I have had no problem in getting access codes. So the problem lies here in Thailand. I hope that helps
  11. I have been looking as well! MSIG Inbound Travel Insurance with Covid Cover seems to fit the bill. I got the information from Luma Insurance. Hope this helps.
  12. Yes 3BB fibre optic is possible on the Dark Side. I have had it for a couple of years-very good
  13. Perhaps you know why the banks have lowered their limit of guarantee from 2m to 1 m because I certainly do not. You are welcome to keep your millions all in the same account-good luck!
  14. Rutnin for me- Dr Roy. 80,000 for one eye and 115,00 for the other which had 'floaters'. Well woth using the experts.
  15. He suggests having 1.2 million in the bank rather than the present 800,000 baht. With the banks only guaranteeing 1m baht I think this unlikely.
  16. Not really as in business you can lose. Insurance companies may lose on one deal but make it up on other ones.
  17. The policy will not only increase dramatically as you age but also if you make a claim-then watch the premium rise-as I did.
  18. Yes, I do know it is expensive! I am 82 and I had a quote of 250000 baht per annum only last week-and that was for minimal cover.. I am sure it is those with money or are in their sixties that are promoting all this insurance stuff.. Wait till you get to my age.
  19. From personal experience make sure you get the book which goes with the red plates. If you do not get the book the plates are fake as I discovered when I was stopped at the toll booth on the way into Bangkok. Then the problems begin!
  20. I contributed to a similar thread a month or so ago. I was not receiving OTP's from the Inland Revenue in the UK. Once I had given the name of my provider here in Thailand all was sorted pretty quickly. The In land Revenue told me that the provider admitted receiving the codes and to not passing them on. They said that a few other providers had admitted to doing to the same. So the problem IS with the provider-get your bank to call them.
  21. I am an 83 year old living in Thailand on a non O visa expiring September 2022. I wish to travel to the UK for 10 days in June 2022 . It looks as though I need covid insurance/and or health insurance. Anyone know, for sure, any company that offers insurance for someone my age? I trawled the net yesterday without success but just maybe there is a company out there?
  22. Maybe I can tie this post with one of mine on another thread. According to the 'new' rules I am allowed to visit a 'safe'' country and return direct to Thailand within 21 days without quarantine. No mention of any other hoops. Like the poster above I am aged, 82 , above the limit allowed by insurers. So does that mean I am meant to spend every day of the rest of my life in Thailand? I have a non O visa which expires in Sept. 2022 so no insurance required.
  23. I am still awaiting an answer to a previous question. I wish to travel from Thailand to the UK and return from the UK within the 21 days limit. At the moment the only information given is that I do not need quarantine. I have a non-O visa valid till September 2022. Do I need insurance, covid/ normal , health pass. In other words what are the hoops I have to go through? As I am 83 years old insurance will be a problem. Thank you in advance.
