  1. I quite like the look of this, I prefered the dual headlights of the old one but other than that it looks good. I doubt I'll buy one but out of interest does anyone know how much it will be ?

I guess you could always swap out the headlight. One site had it at 51,000 baht. Not sure if that is the official MSRP though.

  2. This Cbr thread is quiet for long. I just read what Karlos said ab his chain so I decided to share here. 3 days ago, when braking at low speed, I was feeling some kind of vibration, or /and resistance with my foot on the brake. I m not sure what other word can I use... also if I m not wrong, only when engaging the clutch there was similar tension but not so often...anyway, I was feeling like the brake dont bite and there s something going on with it. I took it to small shop, a branch of a bigger one where I usually go, since I knew the manager there speaks very well in english.

I explained, she translated, the mechanic rode around, and coming back he said its normal, have to shift faster and so on. Ok, I agree, but this started just 2 days ago. So I told her , something is wrong but since I know nothing about bikes what could it be, big issue small or nothing. She said go to the big shop. I went there, they let the best mechanic check it. In the first shop the guy only said , the clutch was loose, even after he did something, the problem was still there. So in the big shop after they rode it again, they adjusted the clutch more, and put more pressure in the tires. so now, this vibration was gone when I pressed the brake at low speed without/with clutching. The only difference now was that I have to disengage the clutch much more so that the bike start going. I hope someone can tell me what exactly was so I can explain better if happen again. And I Wonder , why with the clutch as it was before it was ok, then suddenly not ok, now when they readjusted it ( have to get used again) is ok, and if ajust it as it was it wont be ok. Sorry if not very clear explanation. OR may needed just more pressure and harder tires.

Perhaps when braking you are in to high a gear for the speed you are going. Try downshifting a gear when braking. However, remember when doing emergency braking, don't pull the clutch in or you will lose the engine brake. Worry about stopping first and gearing down second.

  3. I have a Honda NSX Type R, i'll pop in every hour or so for a refill biggrin.png

On a more serious note, is there some kind of charity event going on, i notice someone mentioned 'charity box'?

It is a local orphanage for babies here in Nonthaburi called Baan Dek On Pakret. They do wonderful work and do a great job taking care of a lot of babies. We have been donating to them for years. Here is a link to their website if anyone is interested.

  4. Great Promo Brian, just wish my Honda was injected - actually I wish I could even start it....lol

Good luck and hope the event goes well!

Well come on down and buy a new bike then. Actually all are welcome to come by and hang out whether getting petrol or not. I'll have some adult beverages later in the day. There is also a nice pub/restaurant next door that we could hit after the shop closes at five. Consider it a bike meet and a chance to meet other TV riders.

  5. Given the license plate situation, what percentage of us who set out from distant provinces are likely to arrive at all, how many after paying official fines at the Bib station, and what percentage having provided tea?

Oh, if this country only allowed on-line gambling.laugh.png

PS. How much for a rack for a new, terrifically zippy Click-i 125?

I mean, I'd be there, but.... worry, worry...

The zippy Click will get you past the BIBs for sure. The Click 125 rack is 800 baht. Extra zippiness guaranteed.

  6. That will have the school teaching recruitment guys down in force, branch in patters would be good. Downside you may have to visit the dealership on a regular basis.

IRC Wings are great, considering yss xxl next what would they be delivered? PO box as before, are they simple for a local bike shop to fit?

    Thanks

I could deliver the shocks to the same PO box as before. Any shop could fit them for you. Thanks.

    Brian

  8. ...now I just need a bit more power.

a "bit" more power? Your going up nearly 50% in power from what you have now. (120hp to nearly 180hp)

I wouldn't worry about the warranty either. I mean, if it were me, I could not deal with it not being at full power. If anything catastrophic went wrong, I'd just swap the parts back to stock and take it in for warranty.

I really don't know about those power converter/derestrictor thingies. From my experience with Honda, anything less than OEM parts will trigger another problem. I think it might be cheaper than 9,000 baht to get a used ECU. But of course it's your bike...so good luck and happy trails with your toy!

This article has the 2012 HP at 151. Must be at the rear wheel though. http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/114/13352/Motorcycle-Article/2012-Honda-CBR1000RR-Street-Comparison.aspx They have torque at 77.25 lb-ft. The restricted version has 70 lb-ft so it is already pretty close.

  9. First, I not really see what the Thailand Board of Investment has to do with the Honda PGM-FI as found on the CBR250R, second, the idea behind the PGM-FI (Programmable Fuel Injection) is that it easily programmable.

Firstly, PGM-FI doesn't stand for Programmable Fuel Injection, it stands for Programmed Fuel Injection

there's a Thai company who is still working on doing exactly that. Actually the company twice almost launched the product, but bugs seem to plague them. At the time I just repeated the words said by the company which was working on it...

What company is this? I hope you're not talking API-Tech and their failed aftermarket ECU units?

Siezed the piston on my friends CBR 250 twice. Apparently they are working on the new one. They also had problems with the one for the PCX. Again, they say they are working on a new one.
