Here is a picture of my CBR 250 from last year. I have also included a couple of pictures from this year. The wife rides it now and has made some changes to it. It was never for sale. Care to post some pictures of the bike you are talking about, KRS1? I apologize to the forum members for taking this thread off track, but I just had to respond. In the future I will report stuff like this directly to the mods.

Hey,
What are the different options regarding insurance for your bike?
I got two Nouvo's and a CBR250.
Thanks
You could get a first class policy for the CBR. There is also a new policy available for smaller bikes. Not quite first class, but pretty good. If you are interested, send me a PM. Thanks.

For the people who can read Thai .... This is the magazine that has a whole article about the "likely" new motorcycle from Honda
Thanks for that, Richard. That's just the magazine I was trying to promote. ;-)

Sumet, that big picture looks like a mockup to me. Looks like they took a modified CBR 250R picture (from the frame, aftermarket rearsets, and engine cases...look at a picture of the 250 and notice the design element of the water pump sitting in the slotted area below and forward of the crank cover) and photo-chopped a new nose, closed up part of the 'vent hole' in the front fender as the shadowing isn't right, and my personal favourite, have the exhaust headers attached to nothing; the left pipe would not have all that light showing through if there was a cylinder behind it.
Thanks for that, Dave. Like I said, I wasn't sure if it was real or not. Thought you guys might want to see it either way though. Good eye as always.

Just got my 2nd year 1st class insurance renewal. 4488b with sane cover as last year except total loss/ damage now covers 64thou not 80thou. Still that amount will do a lot of fixing. Pleased with that. Thanks Brian at Sumet for sorting it 1st year.
sent from my Wellcom A90+
Wow, that was a pretty good drop in price over the first year. Let us know if you need anything else. Thanks.

I love how his buddy told him to go twice as fast for the second run. Umm, maybe not.

Glad to hear you are OK. "Told you so", 555. Sounds just like my wife.

The GPX ZF250 Enduro can now (legally and without tricks) be registered at the Department of Land Transport... the bike cost 69,500 THB
You should contact Barry about becoming a TV sponsor. They have very resonable rates. Then you won't have to embarrass yourself and your company by marketing your Chinese bikes in such an unprofessional manner.
Oh, what is wrong with his feedback to us?
Just giving Richard a hard time. I pay for sponsorship and he gets it for free by posing as a friendly forum member. It seems a bit unfair to me. I know some forum members like getting info on these bikes. Also, as they are hardly competition for the bikes I sell. For these reasons, I haven't bothered reporting him to the mods.

Because of the price I'm guessing it is second hand. That works out to about 4.8% interest per month, way too much. It should be 2.2 - 3.0% per month at the most.
Should be 2.2 - 3.0% would make 2.7% considered acceptable, when it clearly is far too high.
Well, that's a bit of a reach. It was a statement of fact. The going finance rate for second hand bikes in Thailand is 2.2 - 3.0%. This doesn't mean I personally think it is acceptable. I was being helpful and trying to help the OP. No need to turn it into an attack on a sponsor.
Oh, and we never finance a bike for more than 3 years. 6 years is just ridiculous. I actually encourage customers that really want to finance to do it over a year to avoid the interest.

When I met my wife she had a good job paying over 15,000 Bt a month
She had purchased a wave with 5000 down and every month paid "Easy Buy" 1400 Bt nearly 3 years later I asked what debit she had before we married and she said the motorbike. we checked the balance owed and it was 56,000 bt on the 36,000 wave she got. We paid in full and it was a lesson, In total nearly 3 times the price, All she thought about was she could easily make the 1400 a month payment and not the total. to be paid
I just did some calculations which suggest this was a loan at 2.7% a month over 6 years, a rate our sponsor seems to think is acceptable. Its normal, but I'd not want to be in business selling things on finance at those rates myself. I'd rather not exploit the poor.
Where on this thread did I ever say that I thought that 2.7% over 6 years was acceptable? I'm just trying to let you guys know how finance for small bikes works here, that's all. No need to shoot the messenger. By the way, most of my customers are middle class Thais and expats. No exploitation of poor people at Sumet. Take your veiled libelous words elsewhere please.

Does anyone know if Bangkok Racing Circuit at Seacon Sq is still doing bikes days on Sunday mornings?
I don't think that place is open anymore. I believe the land has been sold.

3%, while high, is not a loan shark rate. They charge more like 10-20% per month. One could certainly borrow money off a loan shark and go buy a bike. However, when you finance through a dealer, you will either get the dealer's registered finance company or other registered finance companies such as Krungsri Leasing, Summit Capital, etc..

Just for info in Pattaya area Mai Thai now selling new PCX 150 for 77000, all in, plus 2000 bahts worth of extra's as in disc lock, 2 helmets. Sourced from Honda main dealer in Bowin.
Rudy the guy in the shop made a fair point about a voltage metre showing when bikes battery is on its last legs as there is no kick start, and obviously can not be jumped started.
Anybody have any views on there usefulness before i shell out for one.
The prices sure have come down since the initial release. They are now 75,000 at Sumet if anyone in the Bangkok area is interested. Includes tax, registration, third person insurance, Nippon helmet, and windbreaker. Optional theft and first class insurance policies also available.

I've been observing this topic's progression and a thought occurred to me. I wondered on how many worldwide motocycle forums would posters be salivating with lust, excitement and awe at a 100cc scooter most kids with any inkling of self esteem would be embarressed to be even seen standing next to?I know the forum covers a wide spectrum but I mean...come on guys, settle down, pop a few valium before your hearts give out. Used to be men would go to Pattaya to relive their days of youth not masterbate over pictures of Fino copies. Just sayin'...
Hardly a Fino copy. I love big bikes, but I also love small scoots. Nothing wrong with having some fun modifying a bike, regardless of size. It's of course business for me, but I also see it as a hobby.

I had the Magical Racing full spec power converter installed the other day. The settings were a pain, as they were in Japanese and had to be translated. Basically there are three types of settings. One for the front sprocket, one for the rear sprocket, and one for the electronic steering damper. You need to input the amount of teeth for the front and rear sprockets. This allows for future changes in sprocket sizes. You then need to input whether you want the damper at stock setting, medium setting, or track setting. Coming back along Viparwadee the bike seemed a lot more powerful and sounded completely different. The only problem is that the speedo is not working. It stays stuck at zero for some reason. Off to Big Wing tomorrow to hopefully get this sorted, as well as to do another dyno run.
do they have dyno and big wing? and as a cbr250 owner, can is pay and use it as well?
good luck with your speedo/
Yes, they do have a dyno. I'll check tomorrow to see if it is available for bikes that were not bought at Big Wing.

Glad you like the new mods
The SOTP ( seat of the pants ) dyno tells you its an improvement
So there is likely an improvement if nothing else in taking dips out of the powerband.
But...This is the good reason to dyno anything before mods.
That way you have a baseline ref to go from. Then you see exactly what has been gained
or sometimes even lost when it comes to poorly made exhausts or mixing of certain components.
I have not kept up with this thread so do not know but have others Here ever dyno'ed a stock bike &
seen the 22hp you mentioned as stock or is that just what the manufacturers claim?
Of course it is good to go for a dyno after each component installed but i have no time to do that plus paying dyno 1000 thb for a 3000 thb product does not look logical to me.
The dynos i referred are from cbr250dotnet - international cbr250 forum - or from magazines and all claim around 22 hp on rear wheel and 25-26 hp on rear wheel when a performance pipe, air filter and ecu installed. just google 'cbr250 2011 dyno' and you will see.
Manufacturers never claim any rear wheel hp by the way. They just claim what the bike crank out which is 26 hp for cbr 250 so minus 15 percent to 20 percent- average, depending on the bike - , you reach rear wheel hp.
i wanna go for another dyno this weekend so anybody knows a reliable and reasonable dyno in Bangkok?
Try Dirt Shop.
