  1. OK if you want to continue to believe that your right that's your prerogative. After all you won't be around to see the the disappointment your wife encounters when your worthless piece of paper is not accepted by the authorities.
  2. you really aren't capable of accepting facts as presented. has nothing to do with a friend of a friend. So perhaps you need to go and do some proper research, and then come back and apologize when you ascertain that you are wrong.
  3. your stupidity is beyond fixing. Nothing to do with a friend of a friend. It's what is required if you want your Thai wife to inherit your Thai estate trouble free.
  4. I do have experience in this, and if you have done as you say then you are creating one hell of a lot of trouble for the beneficiaries of your Thai estate. Because you are a foreigner, whether you are married to a Thai or not, the Thai inheritance rules do not automatically apply. Once your embassy is notified of your passing, if there is no properly certified Thai will, the embassy will seek out any living relatives in your home country and THEY will receive your estate even if you don't want them to. I talk from experience with this as 2 of my farang friends did not have a will in the Thai format or translated to Thai, just written in the same format as their home country. In the end their wives received nothing. The entire estate was divied equally amongst the living relatives back in their home countries. Therefore it is you that has no knowledge in this case, just an assumption as to what you believe is correct. Their have been numerous threads on this forum on this very topic, and they all stress the point for a properly completed Thai will that is translated to Thai.
  5. you let a sealed envelope be registered. - not absolutely necessary. You can keep under lock and key at your won premises if you wish, or somewhere else that you consider safe. No Thai Format. No Translation! - WRONG on both counts. A will for your Thai estate MUST be written in your native language AND translated to Thai, AND it MUST follow the Thai will format. Most Thai authorities will not accept a will written in your native language only and not following the Thai format. Have had the widows of a few farang friends find this out the hard way.
  6. Unfortunately you do need a template. The Thai format needs to be followed. I originally wrote mine the same as I did my home country will and it was rejected when it was sent for translation. Subsequent enquiries determined that the will must follow the Thai format.
  7. Don't know where you get the idea that you have to have a Thai lawyer draw up your last will and testament. It's not necessary at all. Just avail yourself of a Thai will template, which also includes a living will section, complete it in your native language, have it translated to Thai and sign both with your witnesses present and then have them sign both.
  8. are you serious about this question? 3 parties = you and the 2 witnesses. DUH Also, if you have a Thai last will and testament, there is also provision in the Thai template that I used for a living will. Additionally as stated by others, the witnesses are only signing to say they actually saw you sign the will. There is no need for them to read or have any knowledge of the will's contents.
  9. Just because you don't know them doesn't mean they aren't internationally famous. Their songs have been registering on music industry charts since 2016 in the USA, Australia, Europe, the UK, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand to name a few. So yes they are internationally famous.
  10. yes I know that, common sense would see that I was just correcting the spelling from Liza to Lisa
  11. It is common practice, and I agree with the practice, that when you go to a Thai BBQ ( as per the OP Shabu ) restaurant that you pay a fixed amount per head. However, in an endeavour to stop those whose eyes are bigger than their bellies any food taken from the self serve buffet to the table and not eaten IS subject to an additional charge for the uneaten food. How that charge is calculated varies from shop to shop, but the most common one is weigh the uneaten food and charge per 100 grams.
  12. you usually tend to make sensible comments and express valid opinions, but in this case you're talking absolute nonsense. I worked in the music industry for one of the major record labels back in the 90's, and it's a regular occurrence for international stars/groups/bands to be away from home for years at a time because of contractual commitments with touring and recording.
  13. As a member of an internationally famous pop group, she's been travelling the world performing at concerts for the last 3 years, and in the recording studio doing her solo hits and with Blackpink.
  14. who would teach it? Even our local driving school can't teach correctly. when my wife did a refresher course ( she has a license, but hasn't driven for more than 10 years ) I sat in the back seat and around 60% of the things he was teaching were wrong. Teachers in public schools only teach rote, and there's no such thing as failing, so what chance of kids learning to drive correctly. NONE.
  15. Print my own statements each year, and have done so for the past 8 years. TMBThanachart have no problem stamping and signing off on the statement print out off my pc, and CM Immigration have accepted them every year.
  16. Do you have access to online banking? If so why don't you print your own statements. I can login to my ttb online banking and print up to 12 months worth of statements quite easily. Have done so each year since these rules came in. Then just take printouts to bank the same day as I get my bank guarantee letter and have them certified. Perhaps Bangkok Bank aren't that forward thinking.
  17. I believe you are correct. You become a resident for TAX purposes ONLY if you reside in Thailand for 6 months or longer continuously, regardless of visa type and address. Now this could be wrong, but all my research has come up with the same answer.
  18. you remember that absolutely hilarious video "Dinner for One". I still get belly laughs watching that video, and I've been watching it at least once a year for the past 60 years
  19. agreed. Even LFC agree they are overpriced, but they say they have no say in the ticket prices. BTW I've been an LFC supporter since 1970 and one of the things on my bucket list is to attend a Liverpool game to see them play, but not at these prices.
  20. Perhaps you should have more knowledge of the game and Thai fanaticism for these 2 teams. Thais ALWAYS call matches between Liverpool and Man U the Red War. That being said I wouldn't even consider the 5,000 THB price for tickets and neither are the Thais I know who support either team. Ridiculously overpriced.
  21. more than you'd ever know. This poor excuse for an ambassador never gets involved in any way, leaves it all up to embassy staff. NOT photo op rubbish comment at all There's a big difference between dealing with expat deaths & repatriation from behind a desk ( which is the norm ) and going out of his way to be seen and have his pic taken on site. It had nothing to do with respect for Warnie. He ONLY did it because it was an opportunity to big note himself. He wouldn't bat an eyelid or leave the embassy if it was you or me.
