  1. you remember that absolutely hilarious video "Dinner for One". I still get belly laughs watching that video, and I've been watching it at least once a year for the past 60 years
  2. agreed. Even LFC agree they are overpriced, but they say they have no say in the ticket prices. BTW I've been an LFC supporter since 1970 and one of the things on my bucket list is to attend a Liverpool game to see them play, but not at these prices.
  3. Perhaps you should have more knowledge of the game and Thai fanaticism for these 2 teams. Thais ALWAYS call matches between Liverpool and Man U the Red War. That being said I wouldn't even consider the 5,000 THB price for tickets and neither are the Thais I know who support either team. Ridiculously overpriced.
  4. more than you'd ever know. This poor excuse for an ambassador never gets involved in any way, leaves it all up to embassy staff. NOT photo op rubbish comment at all There's a big difference between dealing with expat deaths & repatriation from behind a desk ( which is the norm ) and going out of his way to be seen and have his pic taken on site. It had nothing to do with respect for Warnie. He ONLY did it because it was an opportunity to big note himself. He wouldn't bat an eyelid or leave the embassy if it was you or me.
  5. This particular ambassador, like many, is only for show. He doesn't actually do anything for his countries citizens. If it was you or me that died from a heart attack, he'd be nowhere to be seen. He only showed up in Samui because it was an opportunity to create the appearance of him doing something and for the photo op.
  6. My question is this - would the absolutely useless aussie ambassador have turned up if it was just an average aussie that died from a heart attack. NO. Just grandstanding because Warnie was a huge celebrity and bigger than life.
  7. 1st pic is a bodysuit. 2nd pic is a 1 piece swimsuit. Very similar but different.
  8. the bodysuit she was wearing is very similar to a one piece swimsuit. They were particularly popular with young ( 18-25 ) western women back in the 70's and 80's.
  9. because there were pics of him ( with the scratches displayed ) shown on tv by the police. There was also a pic of one of the women on the boat who also had a cut near her left temple. I'm inclined to agree with the cops on this one and NOT believe the statements of the remaining individuals on the boat. The whole thing just doesn't feel right.
  10. When I moved from Krung Thep to Chiang Mai I went to the Land Transport Office to change my address on the license. Their response was that it wasn't necessary to change it until the license was due to be renewed
  11. you obviously haven't seen the strawberries from up north. Yes there are small ones, but the ones we buy from roadside sellers are the size of golf balls, some even bigger, and they are sweet & juicy.
  12. I was able to watch them live for FREE online. I also watch online, for FREE & live, golf, football, cycling, NRL and other sports that I'm interested in on vipleague. Initially youget bombarded with advertising pop-ups, but once your past those streaming is very good. can't watch on the 65" smart tv though without buffering, so watch on my pc. Alaso NO VPN needed
  13. Just when you think he can't be any more deluded, he shows us that he can be. Just keep your big mouth shut Anutin, you tool.
  14. As much as I'd love to travel from Chiang Mai to Krung Thep to see the match, ticket prices are a bit rich for this old dude ( a Liverpool supporter since 1970 ). Approx AUD $200 for the nose bleed seats and approx AUD $1000 for best seats.
  15. It's only #1 in the world in his and cha cha's tiny peabrains.
  16. go back and read the OP "Procurers of the teens were soon rounded up." you'll see why your comment is ridiculous
  17. It is my understanding, and I could be wrong, that the constitution has a provision that permits military coups. Until this section of the constitution is removed (lol) then there will always be a general with ambitions of overthrowing a civilian govt.
  18. I had a farang mate pass about 18 months ago. Within 1 hour of his passing his personal bank account had been frozen. The hospital notified every bank in our village. However his joint account remained unfrozen. Once his Thai wife had the death certificate she took that to the bank together with his will ( about 3 days after he passed ) and all his funds were transferred to the joint account which was then changed to just a personal account for his widow. So I guess it depends on where you live in Thailand, and how efficient the grapevine is. I'm sure you've heard of the 3 major forms of communication ( a saying back home from the 60's ) - telegraph, telegram and tell a woman. The 3rd one is still very applicable to this day.
  19. she'd have to do it very quickly after your passing. It's surprising how quickly the banks find out about a farang death and freeze the account.
  20. From my experience with a farang acquaintance, that is not the case, unless the wife is also a farang. He was married to a Thai, did not have a Thai will, and he had also been advised that his wife would automatically inherit everything. Unfortunately, that is not what happened. Once the bank were advised of his death his bank accounts were frozen. The district office and police were notified of his death. Subsequently Immigration and his embassy were notified and that was passed back via the embassy to his home country. The relevant govt dept in his home country, once aware there was no will (Thai or otherwise) then ascertained if he had any living blood relatives, and once that had been ascertained, his home country notified Thai officials and his estate was automatically distributed to those relatives. His Thai wife received nothing. He also wanted a christian burial, but as there was no will stipulating his funeral requirements he was given a buddhist funeral and cremated. Also you don't need to go to the Amphur office to make a Thai will. In previous threads on the topic of Thai wills there have been links to Thai Will templates. Just complete the will in your own language and have it translated to Thai. You can register the will at the Amphur if you wish, but it's not a requirement. I keep my Thai will (english & Thai translation) under lock and key at my home. Better to be safe than sorry. The only fee I incurred for my will was to have it translated to Thai and certified. By having the will it is guaranteed that my Thai partner receives my entire estate and that no estranged family members/relatives receive anything. I'll pm you a template of my will with relevant personal data redacted.
  21. Get a Thai will ( in your native language & translated to Thai ). It's the ONLY way to guarantee that she gets everything. Thai wills also include a section for you to stipulate your funeral arrangements.
  22. How would these idiots survive if they were truckies in Australia or in other western countries, they wouldn't with this attitude. As a comparison and to show how little knowledge these morons have of how fuel prices are arrived at ( fuel companies exploiting motorists, not the govt ) the price of diesel in Australia TODAY is 40.14 THB per litre. The price of E10 is 42.5 THB per litre (E20 here is around the 34 - 35 THB per litre range ). So fuel prices here, whilst on the increase, are not rising as rapidly as in the west. So with the govt capping the price of diesel at 30 THB per litre they have nothing to complain about when compared to current global fuel prices. Fuel prices are up everywhere. Perhaps ALL motorists should also be protesting to drive the price of E20, 91 & 95 etc down, especially as there's more general motorists that truckies.
