  1. that's not the lottery. Systems like system 8 are in LOTTO
  2. my son lives in Singapore and he told me about the possible side effects from exercising too soon after getting a booster jab. Unfortunately he didn't tell me until after I told him what had transpired.
  3. Some hospitals are not sticking to the above schedule. My wife had 2 sinopharm jabs and I had 2 AZ jabs. We both received our Moderna booster 2 months after our 2nd jabs. Although I would issue this warning re Moderna booster jabs. Do not do any serious form of exercise for at least 10 days after receiving the booster. I was unaware that exercise soon after the booster could, in some cases, bring on a nasty side effect. 4 days after I had my booster I was participating in the Chiang Rai Road Classic (50km race). At the 40km mark I stopped at a water refill zone and my vision went blurry in one eye and total loss of vison in the other. This lasted for round 1 hour before vision returned to normal. My son also experienced something similar when he went to the gym 2 days after receiving his booster. Like all side effects, not everyone will have them, but this one was rather scary while it lasted.
  4. Have another look at the name of the person (Chalermchai Sri-on) making the statement. I think you'll find it's NOT the guy (Thamanat Prompow) that spent time in jail in OZ for smuggling heroin.
  5. A norwegian friend of mine has told me how to differentiate between wild & farmed salmon. Farmed salmon is paler in colour and has more predominant white lines in the flesh. See pic attached
  6. It was always my understanding that joint accounts were not acceptable and that it was mandatory, even for a foreign couple, to have individual accounts each with the 800k. That's certainly been my experience when I was in BKK and had to go to CW for my extensions. Perhaps that has now changed
  7. the only politicking was from the Victorian Premier. The prime minister never wavered from the current actual requirements for entry into Oz, especially as both Tennis Australia and the Victorian premier both received 2 lots of written correspondence from the Oz govt in Nov clearly outlining the requirements to enter Oz. So as per another poster get your facts right randirona.
  8. Not correct. The exemption was NOT issued by the Oz Govt, it was issued by Tennis Australia, and it was not an exemption to enter Oz, it was an exemption to play in the tournament as an unvaccinated player. Djokovic had the WRONG type of visa to start with and could NOT provide any proof that he had a medical condition that exempted him from being vaccinated when he arrived at the border.
  9. those other 3 players are being investigated, and if their situation is the same as Djokovic, they will be deported. But I'm guessing they were able to provide the required documentation to support their exemption, which is why they are on the practice courts and not in custody
  10. You've got it wrong. The visa was not cancelled because of public pressure. Despite 2 letters from the Australian govt to both Tennis Australia and the Victorian State Govt stipulating the conditions of entry into Australia for unvaccinated people ( viz. 14 days quarantine required ) Djokovic tried to shortcut the process by saying he had had C19 in the previous 6 months, but he didn't do his research properly on the conditions of entry to Oz. The conditions of entry for those who had had C19 6 months prior to arrival in Australia was that they ALSO had to be double jabbed to be considered as fully vaccinated. Djokovic did not meet those conditions, and Tennis Australia & the Victorian govt issued him with an exemption to play the Aussie Open despite the correspondence they received last November. Djokovic may well have a valid medical reason for not being vaccinated, but he did not use that reason, and has not provided any proof that he does actually have a medical condition that prevents him from being vaccinated. On top of that he has made numerous comments online and in the media clearly putting in the category of an anti vaxer. I don't agree with a lot of things this dumb aussie govt does, but I support this decision 100%. latest reports are that e will remain in custody ( in a hotel ) until Monday when his appeal goes back before the courts.
  11. Agoda's prices are misleading, which is why they are initially lower than booking.com Booking.com's prices are inclusive of teh 10% & 7% taxes. AGODA's are EXCLUSIVE of them. SO in reality AGODA is the more expensive site to book through.
  12. only problem is AGODA's prices are misleading. If you book through AGODA the advertised price is NOT the actual price. AGODA add the 10% & 7% to the advertised price after you confirm the booking, whereas booking.com's prices are inclusive of the 10% & 7% taxes, and also cheaper than AGODA. The other big difference is that with AGODA and some others you must pay in advance. With booking.com you don't have to pay until you check-in. Booking.com also have a better cancellation policy. I've never had any issues using booking.com. Recently made a reservation through them for May. Realised after confirming that the room/price booked did not include breakfast. Was able to change the booking quite easily.
  13. They'd be hard pressed to outdo the current aussie prime minister. Every time he opens his mouth he tells more lies than Prayut and all his cronies combined.
  14. Fat chance of that happening. What hope is there when the police who are on duty turn up at our friends houses, in uniform & driving clearly marked police cars, and consume copious amounts of Sang Som, and when they leave they are well and truly over the limit. Don't anybody try to tell me this doesn't happen, because I witness it on a regular basis, and when I ask them why they drink & drive, let alone while on duty, their answer is simply "I'm the police I can do what I want".
  15. He's based in Vancouver but perhaps he was spending Christmas at Bowen Island where he goes sometimes to visit his son
  16. received my paid for Moderna booster yesterday, 1 month ahead of the time I was advised. If people registered with THG they can transfer their jabs to another person using their app, and you just get the cash from the other person if you want to sell.
  17. never been there, but received a message from a friend who is Vancouver at the moment. He says it's -43* Now that's cold.
  18. I'm with ttb ( TMB/Thanachart ) and I received an international transfer yesterday for 130k baht. Something doesn't sound right with this story. To me this sounds like the daily deposit & withdrawal limits on the account need updating. When I first opened my accounts with TMB the daily deposit limit ( dometic & international ) was 50k baht and the daily withdrawal limit was 20k baht. These can be changed by logging into the ttbonline web site and signing into your account. I easily increased both limits to suit my needs.
  19. that maybe true, YET thousands of women in western countries VOLUNTARILY work as escorts or in brothels, and for many of them it's either a 2nd income or their main source of income. I knew 4 women in Sydney ( who were neighbours ), who when in their late teens to their mid 30's, had university degrees AND good paying jobs BUT still did this kind of work. When I asked them why, I was surprised by their replies. It was the ONLY way they could satisfy their libidos. They also said that many women in the sex industry in Sydney and other aussie capital cities were in it for the sex and not the money. So all the holier than thou sanctimonious pr**ks need to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror before being so judgmental. While this may not be the case here in Thailand, there are just as many that try the sex industry and leave after 1 or 2 weeks because it's not for them. Just in case your comments are derived from an over zealous religious upbringing, remember that Mary Magdalen was a prostitute, BUT JC didn't condemn her for her occupation but judged her for the person she was. Some historical documents even believe that JC married her. So those without sin cast the first stone.
  20. I'm not a big earning, big spending foreigner BUT I reckon I contribute more to the Thai economy than any individual high spending tourist. In my time here ( 7 years ) I've purchased 2 cars ( both new ) and paid cash for the 2nd one, purchased 2 mobile phones ( expensive ones ), furnished my wife's new bungalow, obviously use local restaurants etc., support local sporting organisations ( golf & cycling ) and I'm currently building a new house with a total budget for construction and furniture of several million baht. So this combined with what other long term expats contribute to the Thai economy, long term, is in reality more beneficial to the Thai economy, especially local regional economies, than what any tourist might contribute, especially when very littel is spent by Chinese and Indian tourists, and what they do spend is at predetermined businesses and most of that money flows out of Thailand back to India & China.
  21. I spoke with an IO Captain that I know about these changes and he confirmed that what Joe says about the 400/40k is correct, BUT he expects most will encounter problems when they do their next extension AFTER 1 Sept ( e.g. April 2023 ) they will most likely be required to have increased their insurance from 1 Sept 2022 PLUS have the ensuing 12 months insurance at the new level. Even if his advice is wrong, I'm going to have my insurance at the new level, effective from May 2022 when my next extension is due, to eliminate the possibility of hassles come May 2023 should that scenario eventuate..
  22. I don't agree with you about the cycling clubs being defunct. In the district where I am in NE CM there are at least 6 or 7 cycling clubs that I'm aware of. Only last weekend 3 of the clubs rode 110kms together.
