  1. The LM law is an interesting situation. I have no problem with the law perse, only that it seems to be being abused right now due to the political divisions in the country. Of course, since it is illegal to republish the material that led to an LM case, we never know the extent to which the accused mentioned above actually transgressed.

    ...

Jutaporn's speech is available on Youtube. You can decide yourself if what he said violated the LM laws. Some certainly considered that he did. One senior PTP leader resigned and formal LM charges were lodged.

Who would you say abused the LM laws? Jutaporn for making a questionable speech or the people that made the charges?

    TH

and if English sub is given though.

  2. for what?

How did it work? how much?

Pattaya police are the most crooked police, ask your bar girls.

How dare you cast doubt on the integrity and honesty of our hard working farang loving boys in brown, they are a model of decency inspired no doubt by the utopian society that we are so lucky to live in. I would ask you where else in the world do knights such as these work so diligently collecting for charity ? why every day they can be seen on the streets even going so far as stop motorists seeking donations for their worthy causes, I have even seen them going into lowly bars in the pursuit of donations now there is dedication for you, and where may I ask do you find bar girls in Pattaya ? are you refering to the young ladies who can be seen working in some establishments as part of their final year in getting a degree in the hospitality industry ? shame on you.

Haha..............tell me if you want one.

"sour grapes"? like other forum members.

  3. Of course you don't have to agree with my opinions but if you are going to disagree you should not pretend I said things I didn't or feel the need to snip certain words from my post as that only makes you appear as if you don't really have a valid dissenting opinion and/or have a need to view most things negatively when it comes to Thais.

It was mentioned earlier that most buses do keep to the speed limit of 80kph, again they have not driven much on the highways and been overtaken by a tour bus doing in excess of 120kph. Sometimes it's better not to post if you have no Idea. then you don't lose face!!!:whistling:

Thailand needs to review the road safety issue and a lot of work to be done.

for now Leaving "Songkarn" alone which they are seriously working and it seems that's under control.

"drink Don't drive"s are often to be seen, not. Intoxicated HV drivers with amfetamine are still around as they need to be just in time for their tight schedules. Monitoring this constantly will be appreciated. Granting a driver-license is too easy. They need to invest more on the a computerized test and the proper practical driving test. therefore, driving course is a MUST. In the western countries already have good systems then why don't copy them. And Of course, there shouldn't be corruption. All motorcyclists have to take good care of their own lives while on the roads cos they drive without helmets like maniacs. Additionally, I wanna teach 'em what Right and Left are.

Finally, the law enforcement is a joke. Real punishment have to be engaged for those who don't follow the rules.

  4. Does Thailand actually ever give these drug carriers and/or dealers the death penalty?

Why give them the death penalty?

    Thats a bit barbaric.

    Yep, .. they do.

    a few years back,

and could cut down the operation costs without having to take 'em into a legal system.

have a good time there with male GFs.

:guitar: dub him the same "UNFORGIVEN" but not support capital punishment.

  5. Fancy that, two criminals arrested in Pattaya. Whatever next?

    Just unbelievable!!!!

No other city in Thailand EVER had any criminals or alleged criminal arrested.

And Pattaya is so bad, that every weekend 1/3 of Bangkok just can not help but to come down and block all the streets for the entire weekend.

    Just unbelievable!!!!

Ah yes, Bangkok is not the sin city it once was! I hear Pattaya gets flooded with English teachers at the weekend...

Some enterprising Thai needs to setup a Pattaya city clone to handle the overflow and give the criminals somewhere new to hide. That Baan Chang down the road is a lovely town, ideal to be trashed and destroyed into a Pattaya clone. It even has a lovely beach (should I say had?).

have you been to Sattaheep? beautiful & quiet.....

    clean beaches.

  6. more skilled ??????? ..is that why there are so many motorsport world champions from thailand ?????......whats his name now ?........errrrr....mmmmmmmm......was it crash bandicoot ???? :cheesy:

not that any logical person would seriously rate a countries commuter's driving skills with the number of motor sport drivers the country produces but you may want to do a little homework before assuming there are none including Formula drivers in a country (Thailand) that doesn't sponsor any F1 races.

    haha......

Looks like we have a little school class here....

she was ironic..............'bout skillful drivers in BKK though.

  7. No true democracy has restrictions on freedom of speech, restrictions are never the less imposed because people just can't help themselves , this might involve religion, race, sex and a pilither of other stuff , point is , protection is needed to ensure that peoples lives are not destroyed by print or word, this balancing act becomes obscured, when you go into big Daddy territory Thailand, all heads of state regardless of country should be to a called to account, this depends on the subject at hand and whether it can be constructed as libel or plain fantasy or real life , generally like mine, opinions are like arsoles, everyone has one.

What are ya mumbling 'bout? Are ya serious?

There is no such thing as freedom of speech.

    forget it!

  8. why are people complaining about the country.

if you would like everything the same as in the UK or australia or what ever country, then stay there and not go to thailand.

thailand is thailand and thai people are thai people and the thai way is the thai way.

that is why you all like the cuontry, the life there, the people and more.

if you change it all to your previous country, it will not be thai anymore and you go start complaining about that it is not thai anymore.

look in bkk, the smiles are already going away.

it looks more and more on a big western city in stead of a nice asian city.

    just my 5 cents.

Have 2 cents and I insist on "ROAD safety" in TiT.......... did anybody ask for your 5 cents?

  9. Dont tell me the bus was driving fast I would not believe it . :annoyed: Those buses drivers are totally insane, going to the sea very often I see those buses , mini van driving like maniacs with of course over speed , using the right lane all the time .... I cannot believe the passengers are in such "hands" , but as usual nothing will ever change here , how many dead , how many accidents ?

i got caught speeding 65/km/h in 60 zone and ended up with a big fine.

    as serious as that...

hope they can do the same in TiT.

    many cowboy drivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    showing off Rodeo riding skills?

My little brothers told me that he went to Thai funeral several times in a year when his hometown friends bought their first cars. They gained profits from selling the lands to those Rich folks from Bangkok. His friends drove so fast without wearing the seat belts. I will urge the Government to crack down these ugly bus drivers and to those good bus drivers I salute them for doing the Right thing...

Sir..I am sorry for your find and the police pick the wrong man...( just 5 miles extra? )

Will the policemen write ticket to the ugly Bus drivers who speed up??

    My take and an opinion.

    thanks

say: this is unfair but these're the rules that we need to obey. 5 miles extra so I learned from that.

The process of getting a driver-license is dam****n tough. unlike here!!!

  10. They should make it mandatory that the drivers have this picture posted in their bus in a place that they must look at it when they are in the driver's seat.

Not a good idea because the drivers are often watching a video whilst driving, the picture would distract them

    Agree!!!!

plus + Thai country music blasting my ears all the way to BKK. really got me crazy!!!

    Not in the mood though.

what they need to do is drive safely to the destination and pay a lot attention while on the road.

No movie! No loud music >>>>>>> safety

  12. I take the bus from Pattaya to Bangkok all the time. From now on I will make sure to wear my seat belt (if there is one).

after taking a look at the debris.

if safety-belts worn , would be chances of injury?......

    remarks:

i think it was under the expressway , chonburi-BKK.(from the pict.)

No safety-belts installed.(this sort of buses) safety-belts rarely seen.

@ your own risk ........ dude

  13. Well done, Panadda! Your implication that the unexplained coincidental deaths of the British couple didn't merit serious consideration because of their ages and the absence of concern by relatives has gone down like a lead balloon - and deservedly.

For those who are interested and haven't seen the New Zealand TV3 '60 Minutes' report, here is a link to the programme:
