  1. Well thats unfortunate....since I'm back in the US already. I guess I'll keep looking and waiting

    Try their website contact form

    http://www.thailandt...index.php?mo=24

Odd that the tourist police website is entirely in Thai though?

why,the tourist ploce are thai,do u mean the volunteer police force, who have different nationalities

Are you saying that the website has been created for the police officers?

I would have guessed it's for the tourists (who, by definition, are not Thai).

    Tourists are not Thai?

  2. I did have the same problem with my pump............didn't stop running, got really hot and the tank was full.

After bringing the pump several times to a shop in Jomtien, we found out (with someone from the shop) that the water-inlet (in the tank) was blocked by sand and soil that got into the tank through a small hole in the tank.

After cleaning the tank, or at least the water-inlet, the problem was solved.

  3. Actually!!!..........there was a nightclub called Spicy in CM that was rumoured to be police owned. It was a real rough and tumble place, the last haunt for the bar girls trying to get a lift for the night, and open till 6.00am. Fights were common and the place was often packed out. It was closed down by the Military Police, they came in right over the shoulders of the local police and put an end to it.

The original Spicey is still closed down, a new one opened round the corner but it's far more strictly operated.

Maybe that's what's required in Pattaya, Military police involvement. If they put their mind to it they could solve this problem in a few short days.

The Navy controls Pattaya from Sattahip. The Army would have to get permission from the Navy and I doubt that would happen. I really liked the old Spicey BTW. And another couple of places that will remain nameless.

I liked it too, it was wild west stuff. On the other point though the naval police could do the same job, as PaulJones pointed out, when it gets to the point where the US ambassador is spitting blood the Thais will listen......may I say

    AT LAST!!!

But then again, being Thailand, who knows what's going to happen. ermm.gif

What it that with the US Ambassador? Is she more than the Belgian Ambassador, Dutch Ambassador, UK Ambassador..........oh my, if the US Ambassador has it on her agenda..........believe me, every ambassador has it on their agenda.

  4. It's not sure that you have to pay a hefty import-tax.

Incoming parcels are randomly marked with stickers by people in the customs-department.

Stickered items will be investigated, screened and taxed.

About returning mail to the sender.........I wouldn't take the chance.

  5. Wherever the car is registered in Thailand, the cops have it in their database and can find out the owner by a mouse click.

File an official complaint with the police. These kind of bastards need to be stopped!

Sent from my Nexus S using Thaivisa Connect App

    thanks raro

yes they identified the driver when I was sitting in the police station but they kind of lost interest when they found out he was from a different province?

That's a bit weird, assuming that if the car is registered in another province, the owner is living there too.

If the police is really willing to catch this guy, they can access the Immigration Database and find out where he is actually living.

  6. A guy visits his new built home on the outskirts of Pattaya........within the premises (2 meter high wall) he finds 5 boys in the age of 8-10 years........the boys don't try to escape the possible danger of the huge farang, but with his daughter as a witness oone of the boy asks the farang: "Mister, you boom-boom him.......100 baht!"

Luckily the 5 brads weren't clever enough to go the police and claim to be abused!!

  7. There's basically 2 problems:

There's owners of properties which are located at a spot where there is no parking-place. That's something to consider when opening a business.

There's visitors of businesses, who would like to park their vehicles within 3 meters from the entrance.

Nobody seems to be responsible to create a solution where both groups of people are satisfied.

I often go to Central PTT by car and I know that I never will be able to park my park at my destination. More an more I park my car somewhere along the bath-bus route and get around with them.........saves a lot of hustle.

  8. Very curious occurrence, my sympathy to the victim. Hmmm those hospital charges are closer to a western hospital rather than a THai one, a bit of price gouging I think.

That's because we are farrangs. If you go to Pattaya International they make sure you leave with a bill that is at least 2000 baht everytime. I have been there with my insurance card and without....no matter what I do I always pay almost 2000 baht...its a scam there. I have to go to bangkok christrin or for comon colds I go out to the military chop shop in Sattahip.

is the military hospital - queen sikret (spelling) or is there another nearby, I've tried to find the Military one and always end up in QS

    QS and navy-hospital......same same!!
  9. This is very sad commentary on Thai bureaucracy and lack of concern for its own citizens. The hospitals refused to accept the lab reports, well okay. The women agreed then to pay the 700 THB for a new testing at an "approved" lab. Then the hospitals rejected the ones requiring treatment anyway. This is inexcusable.

First the private hospitals refused the lab-results, then they refused donations in order to purchase the necessary tools and eqp. Then they stated that they didn't have doctors and in the meantime, the patients were tested by these hospitals although they knew that they couldn't treat the disease.

My advise to the SSO: kick those private hospitals of the list and to the Ministry of Health........place those private hospitals under government supervision.

  10. It may be some action to avoid too many costumers charging their eqp and occupying the available sockets.

I can't imagine, that the bar-owners would like to make money on this...........thinking of it.......is the bar-owner aware of what is asked? Maybe it is some daft action of the bar-staff and blaming the bar-owner for this new policy.

Next time, ask for the bar-owner if they would like to charge you and see what happens!

  11. If i had been the rescue workers i would have smashed every window on the vehicle to teach the muppets a lesson!! Leaving kids in a car, with the engine running is just an accident waiting to happen!!

Haha ok, park the car, turn off the engine, leave the kids in the car for a minute and then find the car locked...............that's better!

Sure, he should have taken the kids with him, but hey........just for a minute!

  12. "He said these diseases cause immense losses - 41 million people will die from them in the next three years."

He's saying that 60% of the population of Thailand will die in the next 3 years? Where do these clowns come from?

Quote OP: "BANGKOK: -- Public Health Minister Witthaya Buranasiri yesterday urged an international effort, including among the 10 Asean countries, to implement measures to curb noncommunicable chronic diseases - such as coronary vascular disease, cancer and diabetes."
